The Apple Bowl WAS between Paintsville vs. Johnson Central.






Replacing Johnson Central with Pike County Central doesn't make Paintsville's game on Apple Day week the Apple Bowl.







Here's an idea, let Pike County Central play East Carter this week...... that would free up Paintsville and JC's schedule.
I'm positive JC would be Game to lace'em up tonight vs. Paintsville in the TRUE Apple Bowl.

Guys, they way I see it is that Paintsville has the right to schedule a game and call it the "Apple Bowl". The fact is that both teams have benefited from not playing. Our main rival is now Ashland and not Paintsville, resulting in a game that determines the #1 seed for playoffs . Paintsville has benefited by not getting humiliated year after year which is what would have happened if the series had continued. Would I love to see both teams play tonight? Yes I would. Both teams would come into the game ranked #1 in their class but at the end of the night it would just be another lopsided Eagle win.

Yea, the geniuses that keep crying about this don't realize that if their accusations were true, it would have already been all over every news outlet in KY and the KHSAA would have already layed the hammer down.

All over news feeds yes. But the KHSAA only lays the hammer down after the fact when things are already over and done with. Thats when they come in and strip teams of wins and start punishing the players left after graduation or those who jump ship. That is my issue with how the KHSAA handles things. Its all over and 9 times out of 10, the ones at fault dont see any of the punishment, bc they get the heck out of dodge when the fit hits the shan. Im not saying Paintsville is guilty of anything. Simply stating that if they WERE, it would likely be the middle of next year before any penalty were assessed.
