Congrats Raceland

Congrats to Rams.

Game had zero flow to it because of all of the flags. Is it possible for team to line up off sides that many times. Same ref kept throwing the flag too. One of those games where you are 60 points better than the team you are playing but the referees are just not going to let that happen

So really 60 points better...

But we still got trick plays to run..........I'm sick of them!!

I don't know what the paper will have for penalties but I stopped counting after about 16-3 in the flag differential department

The Rams could have very easily put up 60 on this team.I think we had more penalties yards on us then they had total yards

Congratultions to the Rams for continuing what has been the start of a good season so far. Overall this was a very sloppy game and we must have had close to 200 yards in penalties which needs to be cleaned up. I feel like all of the penalties really affected the flow of the game a lot and it was a very poorly officiated game. There were too many late whistles and I am surprised someone from either side wasn't seriously injured because of it. Some of the calls were very questionable as well but I guess that is expected when you cross the river. I admired the fight in West and they played hard all the way to the end. All in all this wasn't the best played game by Raceland but a win is a win and we just have to keep getting better each week. Again congratulations and it is awesome that the Northeastern Kentucky teams swept the Ohio schools that they played this year!

It was one of those games where the other team was never in the game at any point. I would bet that early in the fourth quarter that without penalties the other team only had one first down off of an actual play.

Still a good win. Congrats Rams. Come away injury free?

The Reffs thought we were there to watch them, they totally controlled the flow of the game

That and they had to have a conference after every flag. They threw so many in us they should have just left them laying on the ground the whole game

According to the radio we had more penalty yards than they had in total offense. In our first possession, we crossed the 50 twice. Each time we crossed the 50, itd get called back. Game was never in question.

Sounds like it woulda saved a lot of time if they had just left em! Lol. Some tough games tonight! Congrats to the Rams for coming away with a good win from the other bank!

During one of the conferences towards the end of the game I saw the head official take the flags away from one of the other referees if that tells anyone how bad the officiating in this game was.

Anybody have the total on penalty yards???
09-24-2016, 06:01 PM
The radio guys last night said 212 penalty yards for Raceland and i think 65 for Port West. If that is the case, we had more penalty yards than they did from scrimmage and I agree, this game would have been an absolute destruction if not for the penalties. I think alot of the misques in the passing game was out of frustration. When the flags stayed at bay, we scored. We had three drives that resulted in punts due to penalties. On all three of those drives, we picked up chunk after chunk, only to have them called back. Two were for real. The PI and the Facemask. Someone explain how a back judge calls a neutral zone infraction?! Oh well, win and move on. But yes, had this game been played at home or by an officiating crew that didnt get their flags taken away from them (blaze was for real on that one) the outcome would have been worse than the Valley game.

Obviously they knew how quickly the game would get out of hand and sounded like that was their best means of slowing the pace! 212 penalty yards and to still seperate the score as much as they did is pretty big!

We actually had 12, but one was declined by West. I totaled up 11 for 105 yards.
for what I totaled West was 28-40 rushing, & 15-32 for 142 passing.

I think the worst call I saw all night was in the 3rd quarter when we stopped them on a 3rd down play and the punt team came on the field and they blew a whistle and called a facemask on the previous play. If there was a facemask I am all for calling it but do it when you see it not right before the start of the next play. I agree with Scotty if the officiating wasn't so bad this game would have easily been a running clock.

I thought 200+ sounded high. But thats all i had to go on.

The way it sounds i dont doubt it wasnt a well officiated game. With that said i dont think Raceland has ever played a game that shouldnt have resulted in a running clock or should have scored 60 or more points.

I'm not saying that we would have scored 60 but if all the penalties hadn't slowed down the tempo of the game and moved us back so much Raceland would have put up enough points for a running clock because the offense was moving the ball easily all night. I will say this though, yes the officiating was terrible but we still committed several legitimate penalties and this has been a trend all season. This has to stop because we cannot afford to keep giving up free yards and expect to beat good teams.

I have a VERY important tip for the Rams and figured this was the best thread to come to seeing how it's the most current Raceland thread! After hearing Paintsvilles plans I strongly recommend (since there is still time to pass the word), that all Raceland players tie a double knot in their belts! At least they can't prevent their rear ends from being bare :moon: when Paintsville takes them over their knee in Ram stadium in a couple of weeks!! :hilarious:
