And also had to empty their Gatorade out of the coolers and buys jugs of water to refill them bc they allow nothing but water on betsy layne's sidelines. The shoe doesn't feel so well on the other foot.
You have to be joking? No way someone inspects the coolers and make you pour out gatorade. I would have told him to .......well you know.

No matter how bad you been in the past you do not run the score up that much on no one. If that was the case then Belfry would be the most hated team in kentucky. but haywood dont beat people in the ground out of respect. Im happy that knott on the mend. but remeber this score because somewhere it catches up to you no matter how bad you been in the past. Chapman.

This is not a Betsy Layne rule where they are setting out to just be mean and make opposing teams pour out Gatorade. It's a Floyd County rule when the new turf was installed, Betsy Layne is not allowed Gatorade either and if you look at their sideline, no chairs either.

Our middle school and grade school teams played at Betsy Layne in a scrimmage earlier this year. Most of the players brought Gatorade with them, then were told by BL officials they were not allowed to drink it on the sidelines.
This would not have been that big a deal if everyone was notified ahead of time, the players could have just brought water instead. But the coaches were not told of this beforehand. No one found out until we got there.

Bolz, ole fatpat's talk with the team has lit a fire with these young'uns after playing that semi pro team. Now we having these running clocks every time you turn around. Downfall about the running clock is that you have to eat as much concession food in much less time. Causing some indigestion, wowza.....

After reading through all this it sounds like there is some bad blood between these two schools :redboxer:

It's true Floyd doesn't allow Gatorade on turf. It stains the turf and encourages breakdown when the sugar gets into the black turf filler. Prestonsburg has or had same policy and its well founded. Expensive as turf is it needs to be cared for. Not taking up for anyone or whatever but the Gatorade rule probably needs to be in place on all turf fields. With money so short now that theres NO coal severance funds available thanks to, well you know, we need to take care of what we do have.

Now I agree with you that teams need to be notified prior to arriving at the field.

This was a practice game for knott county. Maybe the coach wanted to keep his starters in to get them in better shape.

What do you suggest they do?
Looks to me as though if Betsy Layne can't stop them they need to get better or get them off the schedule.
You can't whine about getting killed when a running clock starts at 36 points.
I've never understood how it's unsportsmanlike to put up a 100 points if you want to. It's a part of the game. Break some records.

Teams regularly score 70 points all year long. It's been done every week.
I still don't get how this is running up a score.
