Wow, take it easy coach!
#4
Congrats to Knott.
#5
75? That looks like a Florida Kentucky score from back in the day.
#6
Knott has been on the other end of a lot of these. Let them enjoy this one.
#7
congrats pats

It doesn't matter how many times you been on the other end. There's never a reason to beat a team like this. No class coach. Bottom line!
#9
Not much they could have done but tell the kids to stop scoring
#10
It is hard to score 75 with the running clock starting at 36.
#11
Not when they throw interceptions and can't tackle it could have been 100
#12
Ouch! I hate to see these kinds of scores but it happens.
#13
Betsy Layne might not have made it to double digits in tackles.
#14
Lost a lot of respect for the Coach in this one. Yes, Betsy Layne struggled to tackle and yes Betsy Layne could not establish an offense so therefore the Patriots had the ball a lot.

But, the starting offense was on the field the whole night with a running clock in the second quarter. They finally decided to take their starters out with one minute remaining in the fourth quarter when the referee was standing over the ball not allowing for another play to be snapped.

We here at Betsy Layne will take our licks and move forward and continue to learn from each and every game.

Congrats Patriots and good luck on the rest of the season!

No class shown in this one

Let's take a trip back in time, 2012 Betsy Layne up 27-0 clock ticking down :15 seconds remaining BL acting as if they are going to let clock run out. Knott players start moving to sideline, then BL coaching staff starts yelling run the play and BL goes to line and throws 90 yard TD pass. Enough said!

Wasn't there but, you can call off the dogs long before it gets this bad. It will come back to bite you at some point.

How soon we forget a previous game that occurred between these two teams....the score was pretty much reversed and Betsy Layne lined up in victory formation to take a knee....and then they raise up and throw a pass into the end zone to tack on another one....now that's what I call class.....lol. (Karma is a b........) Someone needs to tell them that when there is a running clock against you that you don't continue to rare back and throw the ball to the other teams defense....most coaches would have kept the ball on the ground and kept the clock running. I guss the Patriots should have handed them the ball back instead of running it the other way. And by the way....some of the starters may have been in the game late but most were not....mainly because when you are already starting mostly Sophmores there's not much subbing that you can do...Best of luck to Betsy Layne Bobcats for the rest of the season. As for the whiners....get over it....and if you don't....who cares.....lol

We love the Patriots!

The last time Betsy Layne was there, Coach Hollon took the away side benches away, wouldn't let the equipment group get water, and refused running clock to get out healthy. BL staff had to get principal involved. That may be why he was not HC much longer.

Whether it's a pass or run, the clock still runs in running clock. Please don't act ignorant. Wth transfers and injuries BL will take some hits but Ole Betsy will be fine.

Good Luck Rest of the season KCC.

With over 40 kids on a team it's hard to believe they had to play starters late into the game.

And the year before that knott asked to bring chairs with them bc ole betsy has no benches and was told no. And also had to empty their Gatorade out of the coolers and buys jugs of water to refill them bc they allow nothing but water on betsy layne's sidelines. The shoe doesn't feel so well on the other foot.

excuse me....there is @ 28 when all are healthy.....wish we had 40.....next game please.
#28
And yes Tebow (lol) the clock still runs whether it's a run or pass....but any coach should know that keeping the ball on the ground eats up the clock.....throwing the ball to the defense repeatedly is not the answer....ignorance is bliss.

Wow.. I'm IMPRESSED with the job Chapman has done in the last two years winning 7 games in 2 years.. last winning season the team had was in 97 when the LEGENDARY Jay COBB was around. A man could write a book after spending a season with him on and off the field in 96 and 97. Glad to see the program winning again. Trust me we owe a lot more of these.. these kids are making memories they will cherish the rest of there life's. Good job pats 16-17

It was 56-6 at half time. In the second half Betsy Layne played eight in the box and most of the time blitzed at least two of the linebackers. Knott scored three times in the second half, a pick six, a sweep, and on a ten yard slant that turned into a long touchdown run. Not exactly running the score up. Mostly. in my opinion, were touchdowns due to poor tackling. As far as not playing many players, Knott only has 29 players (One of which is out for a few games with an injury). I'm pretty sure that most, if not all, got a lot of playing time most of the fourth quarter.
