Corbin 28 Danville 7
#1
Final

Some of you guys were right....Danville athletes were just too fast for corbin Confusednicker:

As I said on the other thread. Corbin only allowed 13 to Louisville Central- and they were faster than Danville. Corbin's dbs can defend the pass.

This game was never really in question once Corbin went up 14-0.

Taking nothing away from Corbin, but Danville came out as flat this week as they were focused and fired up last week. Corbin's offense is efficient. Danville's offense made several UNFORCED errors that made things easy for Corbin. The high snaps to the QB are killing the Danville offensive rythum, two or three of those were over the QBs head and killed drives and gave Corbin good field position. Corbin has a good team and deserved the win. Danville has to get the Center snaps fixed or their going to have a lot of trouble in close games. The other disappointing thing showed in this game was some Danville players coming to the sideline pouting, not sure what about. They just didnt play with any emotion at ALL. Hopefully the off week will help get some of these issues straightened out, last year after the loss to Boyle Co. they went on a good run, hopefully they will again.

Corbin did a good job containing Danville tonight, they are disciplined on defense and get to the ball, but Danville's offense did not execute tonight, Corbin's defense had a had some to do with it, but the bad snaps to the QB also messed up a lot of the plays, it gave Corbin a little more time to get to the ball. I thought Corbins DB's played well. I just wished Danville had not played such a poor game, but I guess Corbin felt the same way about last years game.Confusednicker:

This is a statement win for Haddix and the Redhounds. Corbin dominated a very good Danville team, from start to finish. The Defense played well and they didn't seem to be bothered by all of the "speed" that Danville was supposed to show off tonight!!

Big win for the hounds !

Not sure I saw domination. Offense I guess, but Danville's offense killed themselves and never got any momentum. Don't get to feeling to good about yourselves that may have been part of Danville's problem tonight.

Im surprised by this score. Honestly I thought Danville would win. Honestly I thought wrong!

I wouldn't say dominated either. Defense played very well. Offense had to work their tails off to score 28 when the defense gave us 3 turnovers. O-Line still needs a lot of work, DB's got burned three times, Danville just couldn't quite connect. Do think we had one TD called back that shouldn't have been. Called a hold on the RT when the play was an off tackle to the left. Very little effect on the play if any. Danville kept a couple drives for the hounds alive with offsides penalties. Also 10+ high snaps. Not all were catastrophic but 8 of them slowed the play down. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited with the way the hounds showed up to play. Played hard and got a very quality win. Danville is a good team and I feel that we executed pretty well. Have a lot of work to do. We've seen how we can handle speed now we get to see how we can handle power. Bring on southwestern.

I'll eat crow on this one too... Great win Corbin!!
#14
Danville made some mistakes but I would stop well short of saying that's why the game was lost for them. They couldn't pick up enough 1st downs to beat Corbin last night. Even without the turnovers-Corbin was the better team.
#15
Can't wait to see the Corbin/Mayfield game in 2 weeks. Should be an instant classic.
#16
I saw this coming. I told my boy, 64, in texts what was gonna happen. I told him they were gonna hide behind that big o line, and d line, and use Sizemore and their backs and go straight at the Ads. I told him they would control the clock and limit the Ads possessions. So, the flat thing, that's what that was. The Ads just couldn't get it going from being pushed around.

Congrats to the Hounds on a great win.
#18
Hounds showing they are much improved from last year
#19
Corbin looks to be the real deal, congrats to the Hounds

Congrats to Corbin they appear to be the second best team in 3A definitely better than the ADS last night, I was wrong about this one.

good win corbin ill take my crow well done

A lot of Saturday morning crow drinkers :partyhard

Could Belfry NOT have an automatic pass to 3A state champ this year? This game suggests the Hounds might have something to say about that.

Congrats to Corbin. Keep making some noise. Lots of people wrong about this one.
#25
That's 2 Fast teams the Hounds have handled. Could we be possibly faster too.... The Hounds have several weeks to get better, and faster before the Pirates possibly come to town. Jus need to keep rolling, keep getting better. I don't believe anyone they play will be heads and shoulders better tho. These guys are on a mission, one week at a time. 15 games!
#26
Corbin is not faster than either of those teams, don't kid yourself. They do play fast. Game was not in question after 1Q. 3 straight big games was more than the ADS could handle. Corbin was focused and ready to play, we were not.
#27
Corbin is not faster than the 2 teams..Didn't say that they were, not kidding anyone.. But faster than last year. Their overall team speed has improved, especially on the defensive side. Both teams have a lot they need to improve on before they call it a season. Good luck on the rest of the season ads fans. Go Redhounds

No Belfry will still most likely kill everyone else in 3A without trouble, but Corbin is definitely the second best team right now.
It's absurd to think some thought Danville would put a running clock on corbin.

3 games prior was not what beat Danville last night. They did turn the ball over, but what about the other possessions where they couldn't find the end zone? Corbin put the defense to them. Corbin was just better at this point in time.

Everyone knows Belfry is a juggernaut. With that to say they are automatically going to win the title again this year is a stretch. It is still early in the season and a lot of things can happen between now and state semi's. Injuries can change the dynamic of a team over night. That's why they play the games, to see who will win. Yes I think Belfry is the best team in 3a but I also think Corbin isn't going to just lay down and let the have it without putting up a fight.
