Oh man, Wayne County is good. Congrats Cardinals.
#3
Wow!!!
#4
Cards are dangerous
#5
Wayne and Knox Central both laid eggs last week in Richmond. I think both have Bounced back tonight.
#6
Dang if 31-0 is running up the score then Wayne county was a touchdown away from running up the score twice.
#7
Wayne looks pretty dad-burn good!

Wayne played JV half way through the 3rd

Wayne played JV half way through the 3rd quarter. And they scored twice.

I don't even know what to say about this game! We got there late & should have stayed in the parking lot! Taking nothing away from WC, they have a good team, for whatever reason NL didn't even show up for this game in any quarter. Hopefully, they can do what some of these other teams with a 1st week loss did, regroup and get it figured out before the next game. They are a better team than what this score indicates. Your fans are saying: "GO JAGS"!!!

The good news is North has three games in a row that they should get their confidence back before Harlan Co game
#16
Harlan County has a road through hell next 3 games with Belfry and Knox Central away and Johnson Central at home.

This was one of those games that makes you scratch your head even after it is over trying to figure out what went so wrong? One thing no blocking period, they were all over NL's QB before he could move, not good. Also when a Safety gets Defensive Player of the game, that shows you the guys up front were missing assignments all over the place. Sometimes just the sequence of the way events fall in place cause a team to get down, like NL dropping all those passes right in their hands right in the end zone, being able to execute those things in particular would have helped NL's cause. I am not saying they would have won this game, but it would have been closer. Another thing, WC, just had more experience and they didn't lose the players NL did last season. Plus my last observation, WC's blockers were TOP NOTCH, they took people completely out of a play over and over. NL, got trenched last night, hopefully they learned some valuable lessons from this game and will be able to come to terms with this loss get back on track next week.

Great win Cards. I'll admit I didn't expect that showing. All facets of the game were clicking: special teams, defense, and offense (after the back-up got rolling). The depth of the cardinals wore down North Laurel early, and it made the difference in the game getting out of hand.

Both teams lost 12 seniors last year. North lost basically all their offense when they lost 2 of theirs though. Getting behind in games will be Norths Achilles heel this year though. They just don't have the offense to afford getting behind 2+ scores.

This game did not surprise me. They handled us pretty easy in the scrimmage. This team is dangerous. Coach Thompson has things going in Monticello.

I was picking WC to win but not by that margin. Looking forward to our battle with them in a few weeks and likely for Regional Championship.

I knew this game would be a running clock game. But I figured north starters would atleast score on Wayne subs. That's why I gave north 12pts in my prediction. Confusederiously:

NL only returned 3- 4 (tops), players that played last season, that is a substantial loss. Yes, WC, had 12 Sr's, but they did NOT all start and play like NL's did. (I have family associated with WC, the reason I know this). That is the way that worked. Makes a difference, I still think NL will get the kinks worked out and get back on track.
