The Rams are coming off of a win against West Carter while the Tomcats open their season. This should be a good game between two tough teams. It will be interesting to see how Ashland performs in the first game of the post Baker era. Ashland lost a lot of talent but they are Ashland and always have good athletes. This game will come down to execution. If the Rams can take advantage of opportunities I like them by 10 points but if they fail to execute then they walk away with another loss at Putnum Stadium. What do you guys think?

rams has 0 % chance in winning this game. every year raceland thinks they can hang with big schools and drive back up 23 to raceland with their heads hung low. I think the raceland talent wise has great players, but coaching my friend is and will be the rams downfall. the leadership alone in this program will doom any chance they have in advancing where they would like to be

A 0% chance is rather extreme but I can see where you are coming from. I agree with you that most years we do leave Putnam Stadium disappointed and we have gotten in our own way most of the time. Most years we do hang with Ashland but for whatever reason we can't finish the job. I like this game though because win or lose it is a good learning experience for later on in the season. As I said in my first post I think we can win this year but if the team doesn't execute and makes the same mistakes they made against West Carter then it will be another long drive back up 23.

Rams rare, single A, depth in the trenches prove to be the difference maker and the recievers make up for their week 1 mistakes. Bailey has always had good games against the Tomcats. Also expect Judd Adkins to turn some heads, as over the last few years, kids like Bailey and Kane Snyder have had breakout performances at Putnam. Damon Black also looked solid and ran harder last week.
Another great game and Raceland pulls away in the end.

If NOTsoBADCAT doesn't play, Raceland wins easily.
If NOTsoBADCAT plays it will be Ashland with a second quarter running clock.

O-line must play better. The Rams must catch the ball also. West had some success going wide on the Rams seems like they have that issue every year. IMO.will make my pick later.

I want to say Raceland because of all the newness for Ashland players and this being game 1. However, I just don't see Raceland winning at Putnam anytime soon. Ashland in a close one.

Not sure we were watching the same game , west carters running back had 13 carrys for 16 yards .. Their qb had some runs outside that was after dropping back to throw them tucking and running that's gonna happen but to say they had success running outside is not true

West Carters scoring plays came from lazy defensive play. I'm sure the coaching staff will have that fixed this week because they know you can't make those same mistakes against a solid team like Ashland. I think they should be much more focused this week and they will play with much more intensity. Nothing against West Carter but their football environment is nothing like playing at Putnam Stadium and last week just seemed to be missing that luster. I am looking forward to what should be a great game of football Friday.

I'd say there will be some phantom holding & block in the back calls at the most inopportune times. I'll let you figure out which way that will go.

It's usually not to bad Bac.There is no place like Ironton. When you go into that place you are down 14 or 20 points.Very very hard place to win.
