Most likely similar seasons as last year for both teams.

Personally feel like Middlesboro struggled tonight you could definitely tell there were some "kinks" they made most of their magic on defense. One player impressed me with their play especially on defense. I feel with time the Jackets will slowly tune up and turn out just fine. Most of the work needs to improve on offense but if they get all of their wheels on at one time I feel their defense will definitely help. Need to find out a solution at the QB position though. They happened to struggle alot in the passing game and the offensive line showed up here and there. I Don't really know too much about Williamsburg besides the fact that it was either last year or the year before that they missed a shot at a state title becauss of a botched extra point. If they are still the same caliber team this year than the Jackets know what kind of weapons they have.

These two did not look as good as they did last year. Offenses not as explosive and defenses are not near as good as they were. I agree with the statement same seasons as last year.
Pineville was the best team by far on this field tonight.

We still have a lot of work to do. I really do miss Randy a lot. Had this program going in the right direction before they fired him.

Go Jackets!!!

I'm fine with the outcome of this game. After all, it was a scrimmage and the first game-like scenario for a lot of new kids. I'm also fine with opponents thinking the offense was very vanilla as I'm sure neither coach wanted to reveal anything or attempt anything special with at least 3 opponent coaching staffs present (Pineville, Williamsburg obviously, and likely member or two from Bell staff).

With the 3 kids that decided not to play this year I agree on Wburg...

Game started at 6.00 pm the heat index had to be over the limit to play the game. They play anyway
eriously: I left at halftime to go and watched the Knox Central and Bell County at 7.30 I arrived around 7.25pm at Knox Central the game was delay for 30 minute due to heat index. I am telling the truth it was atleast 15 degree cooler at Knox than Pineville. Makes me wonder who checking the heat INDEX AT PINEVILLE.

The outcome of the game was insignificant , Both teams are not any better at all from a physical standpoint. This may be the weakest defense I have ever seen in a jacket uniform. Our offensive line is still a major concern. We have one bright spot , pitch the ball out and let Williams make some people miss on offense. The secondary is pretty good on defense. Going to be another very long year.

Looking back on it, we really only ran a sweep just a couple of times. The other gains by Williams were on read options. I would also argue that Elliott had a few good carries as well and could be pretty dangerous in the slot as well. He had one catch the allowed him to display some serious speed, even though he was taken down on a shoe string tackle that forced a fumble. I think he and Jackson will open the read-pass game quite a bit. It didn't work as effectively in this scrimmage because the QB seemed a little nervous and was a bit off. He has shown in the 7-7s all summer that he is more than capable of making the throws.
LBs still need some improvement but have better size than last year.
While I didn't see enough to make me think the defensive line is significantly better, I did think that the OL showed improvement. I am big on the move to put the OL back down in a 3 points stance. On the series in the redzone where they didn't convert, there seemed to be a few things go wrong that can't be attributed to just poor line play. For one, Williamsburg had 9 in the box. Secondly, on one of the plays, there was a botched snap. It was a good situation to draw some teaching points from.

Curious, how did you look back, you on Hudl? You were not at game. You didn't see any of it according to you. Only coaches and players on Hudl. How did you come to this game breakdown?

Had a parent friend whose son plays on the team this year. He didn't record the second half but I was able to watch the first half with him. So no, I didn't see it live but I was able to watch it later. Not even sure what Hudl is.
