Nice....figured they might go with the ram horns
06-24-2016, 11:34 AM
Samson.....just show up to Ramland and get #8 pinned on you and wait for basketball and baseball season cause those are the only sports Russell is getting a W in.Hahahahahaha

RCB should be another great game. Really like having it the last week of the regular season. The first few playoff games can have a lack of intensity and competiveness (outside of last year for the Rams and Devils). Having this game at the end of the regular season gives a good playoff type atmosphere, the food drives are always successful, crowds are loud and bring a good gate for the schools, im so glad its on the schedule again. Imo, it's the kind of game so many think about when they think "Friday Night Lights". Same can be said for the Brawl.

They split in baseball and basketball so that's not a given either

Notice the "THE" in the above statement lol. It will stay put this year, imo. Though I expect another dawg fight. Man I wish it was August...

Bumpidee bump bump bump. Lord god is it August yet? I need football talk. Anyone making strides in practices? Any new news?

They are in the dead period until July 9 so it will be a couple more weeks until some real football talk can start back up. I'm with you though, I can't wait for the season to start!

Easy Scotty......this is how we set ourselves up for heartbreak every year

Rams seemed to be focused during the spring session. I don't think we'll see a repeat of last year. These seniors know it's their last go around and know they will have to keep their heads screwed on straight to be able to bring a District and Regional Title back to Ramland. They already had a 3-peat won last year at this time and we're talking smack, but we all know what happened. These seniors have climb the mountain before as 8th graders going to the 8th Grade State Championship game and I feel they were embarrassed by the way they underperformed for the first 3/4 of last season. This year I feel that all the action will happen on the Gridiron instead of social media. Time will tell.

Any freshmen going to see time in Ram land?
06-28-2016, 11:52 PM
I doubt it. Possibly on special teams. But i dont think its likely.

Couple have good strength, conditioning, and toughness. A few have the speed. But none really stand out in my mind that have all those things that would allow them to see a great deal of PT. could be wrong, jmo

With 20 seniors there's really no need for the freshman to have to play . Noahs 6"3 310 he has the size and could give someone a break but Raceland has a solid line with plenty of dept so I'm sure the coaches aren't gonna rush him or any others to play if not needed

If that young an could fill a spot to open up more depth on the team they should do it. Iron man football only gets you so far..

Got bored and looked up the combined records from the teams are they played last year.. They 8 non district games and the record was 55-37... Raceland is one of 3 teams who's schedules opponents had winning records..

That is a total of 8.
Paintsville and Raceland both have 8.

But that's not a norm for Raceland bac.Last year was the first time is as long as I can remember that Raceland has had a schedule like that.I think that might have had something to do with the problems the team had last year, although I don't think most Ram fans would agree to that. You take young kids that are use to playing games where their putting 50 on people and all the sudden they have to work for the W and the kids didn't like it.I hope we keep this schedule and even make it harder.I don't care to go into the playoffs at 6-4 or even 5-5 if I know we have played some good teams. The Carter County schools need to be off the schedule.

You had a 6-4 regular season this year... Only 2 teams who finished with a losing record, 1 who finished at .500 and 5 who had more than 7 wins...
06-30-2016, 01:21 PM
I predict a better season this year than 6-4...
06-30-2016, 01:40 PM
Racelands toughest opponent last year was Ashland.. Anyon beg the differ?
06-30-2016, 01:55 PM
I think Racelands toughest opponent this year will be Russell.. What do you think?

I think it will depend on what Lucasville Valley & Portsmouth West have back and bring to the table.

I'm going with the Ohio schools as being the toughest on the schedule.

I'd agree but lost too much to be...

I say Greenup will be the toughest game this year for the Rams , when they were in middle school that's the only team they played in two years that played them

Rams by eleventy billion!!!
