Amos McCreary Named Bell County Head Football Coach
What will be the win total for 2016? What will constitute a successful season?
Bell Co football has always been the football program in the mountains that everyone wanted to be like and have heard many times how down they are only to see them reel off about 9 wins.
Bell Co football aint going anywhere and will be better than most expect.

So you are going with 9 it sounds like.

I dont think its impossible. From all I have read you got some pretty good players coming back.
I don't think it is about who is coming back but rather who will take the place of the Sr's and coaches? Neither of those look to be that good. I don't think they will come close to 9. Heck at the rate they are going they maybe lucky to win more games than Coach Hoskins did last year let alone Coach Mills.

It all comes down to the this shared thoughts from most of the Bell County folks. The Kids deserved better than what they got!!!!
8 to be considered a success. My prediction, 6-4

Not always.
Bell has been good since the late 80s.
Who do they beat?
We win the first one for sure.
What's new on the front lines at Bell, has the coach showed up, any assistants on board, are we having summer workouts, how's the new offense looking, anyone transferred in or out. Have we fired the Supper yet.
Ain't fired the supper yet, but the dinner don't look good!!!

Confusednicker:
What happens if Bell only manages 5 or 6 wins this year?

Coach has kind of showed up, no assistants besides the 2 already mentioned to my knowledge, not sure about practice have heard low turnout but I am not sure how many. New offense is less complicated than most ran as K-2 players so they should be easy to learn. Nobody moving in, still rumors of people leaving but nothing concrete to my knowledge. They have had a few leave the team. Supt will be around until election time.

At this point 5-6 wins maybe a reality but a Severve disappointment and faluire in most's eyes.

Mills should have never left Knox Central. Who would have thought that he'd be out of coaching, Bell would be in a mess and Knox central would have the more stable program

Mills is at Corbin. IMO he is just waiting on Haddix to move on to bigger things.

You can stick a fork in the Panthers. their best seasons are behind them.

Next year will be one of our best. Mark it down.

It's just little Douuggie trying to be a troll. And just like most things he comments on he's CLUELESS.

just telling it like it is and you dont like truth. You're the troll.
Who does Amos have on staff? Has he added any assistants lately?
OK, i'm new to this forum, but i've already figured out pjdoug has all the answers.... it's a dang shame he has no clue what the questions are.....

Agreed. I don't know the exact number of wins they'll have, but I'll be highly shocked if they aren't playing in the region finals.

As I said way back before a coach was named; you can't ask for a better district/region to be in as far as a level playing field. Yes, Corbin is the top dog right now....but, Powell, Casey, Estill, Jackson, Magoffin, Knott, Breathitt, Morgan, etc...what's the fuss and worry about? And, that's no disrespect to any of those programs....as a matter of fact, if I'm feeling great if I'm any of those schools.

There are a crap load of teams across this state in districts/regions that know their fate every year when the off season(s) start in January....that's not the case in these districts and region.
So you will be shocked if we do not beat Corbin in second round? Next year we will be fine, that will be the last for sometime. Bell is and will be a different now, Dudley and his coaches (Mills, Hoskins, Frazier, Yankey, and Harbin all coaches of Hilton) are now ALL gone. Hilton and the last of Hilton influence is gone. Bell will start a decline, 3 years and you may not recognize our program. Athletes will be the main problem as many have moved and just more of a dry spell. Hilton had dry spells, but we recruited what we needed. Not going to happen now.

They won't play Corbin until the 3rd round (if all goes as expected with them both going 1-2 in their district), I'd be shocked if they didn't get to them....

Bell has already started dropping! Corbin has beat us the last three times we've played them. Dudley and Greer leaving has caused us to drop. Losing Mills will hurt just as much as losing the other two.
I'm afraid the ship is sinking!!!
Jmo, if Coach Amos can get Harbin back out to coach, we will be fine. Losing the other guys will not hurt is at all..

Where is Haddix going? I expect him to be at Corbin for the long haul. He's got it made down here.

He is thought of as one the of the best young coaches in the state. Schools will come after him. Someone will offer something he can't turn down. JMO

So they may win 2 games in the playoffs, record will still be bad.

Do you mean us at all??? Yes it will hurt. Just be sure to get back on in October and let everyone know how much it hurts. Numbers are already pretty low, now they are losing more? Even if the 3 amigos could coach you still have to have players. Running off the ones you have is not good.

Wife has a heck of job and his is pretty good too. Don't look for him to leave anytime soon.
