Patton Slams Exclamation point on South Floyd
#1
I have to mention that Prestonsburg Junior Trevor Patton had an awesome two handed slam last night in the Pburg domination of South Floyd. I am so glad to see something great happen to Patton. Here is a kid that had a 5 game suspenion early in the year and then a few weeks later was injured (broken hand) in an auto accident. He made a total re-focus and committment. His dad told me that he appoligized to his teamates and coaches. He never missed any practices and played with that broken hand until the cast finally broke and fell off. Spoke with Trevor's dad after the game and he said that Trevor is working hard every day in the weight room and constantly trying to improve his skills. Great kid, and congrats on the big time Slama Jamma!

I Wouldn't Get Too Excited, Looks Like He May Need To Hit The Leaper Machine. I've Gained 40 Pounds Since High School And I Can Pull The Net And Rim And Let The Ball Fall Over In It Also.

Oh please. This was not a grab the net and let it roll in. He slammed it down with players tugging on him. Need I remind you that he didn't have a run and go at this either. Just straight vertical leap.

he let go of the ball in the air and then pulled the rim down if he would have let go off the rim the ball would have went flyin......

Oh don't start this. It's South Floyd that has been unbeatable all year. SF this and SF that. I bet there have been more threads about SF started than all other threads combined. So you have no right to talk about Pburg.

He could have dunked it but he got too far under the goal and couldnt do it. He let go of the ball and grabbed the rim but still good try.

We might have but we didnt start stupid threads like this..beside patton didnt even dunk the ball so i dont know what all you pburg fans are braging about.I could do as much as he did..

Hell hes 9 foot. He should be takeing it through his legs or something. Why brag when someone has to jump 4 inches to dunk it. And it wasn't even a "SLAM", it was a finger dunk.
#10
I really dont think this was a dunk, he let go of the ball and grabbed the rim
#11
i was right under the goal he let go of the ball and pulled on the rim
#12
Congrats Trevor !

You post shows your ignorance and Jealousy. Patton is about 6'6" and why should he put it through his legs where the short people might grab it. You can call in a finger, hand, or whatever. I have watched the video of the game, twice I might add. Here is what happened Patton received the pass and made a committment to the goal. I did not realize it that night but this dunk was contested by #50 From SF. Patton's hand is about a foot & and half above the SF Player that fouled him. Thus the EXCLAMATION!!!POINT!!!

Here is what I would say to you, if you can do it, then do it. Talk is cheap. I guess I am more impressed that a 16 year old kid in the District Tournament in front of a full gym would even try it. That takes guts! I have watched over 50 HS ballgames this year and this is the first in game dunk I have seen. You are saying this is a "stupid thread", that is hilarious, there have been more "Stupid Threads" started by SF posters :getwell: this season on this board than all others combined. I'm sure it would not be stupid if a SF Player would have dunked in on Pburg. In game "dunkage", got to love it! Congrats Trevor Patton.

Not trying to take anything away from Patton but he's what like 7 feet tall (of course I'm exaggerating) and he has a wing span that would rival a small jet....he shouldn't need a run and go at it to dunk it in the first place. Straight up vertical leap? Should be able to stand on tip toes and dink it in at that height and wing span.

Slam!!:wtf1:
OK I just saw it reaired on WPRG, This was not a dunk nor should it be mistaken in the same catagory..I was looking for the dunk that everone had talked about on here, watched the whole game and saw a player pull down the rim a bit and the ball poped up and went in....I was thinking to myself, is this what was being mentioned...I usually don't have anything negative to say but come on and call it what it is, go upstate and watch some of the city schools play and maybe you'll see some "Slams" i'll end on that.

Congrats the Blackcats anyway.

You saw what you wanted to see. Since you are the expert of dunkage, I will break it down for you. I have watched it on two replays, plus I have seen still photos from several fans. Patton takes one dribble, and leaps up with the ball in two hands, he dunks it, but the ball draws metal and takes a moment to fall. The still photo shows the ball in two hands clearly over the rim being pushed in. Ball did move in basket, because the dunk was a little of dead center of the goal, you are making it sound like he threw the ball up and then pulled the goal down. Not true, again EXCLAMATION POINT!!! DUNKAGE. Besides, I could care less what goes on downstate or upstate or NBA or whatever. I give any kid credit for doing this against the defending district champs in front of 4000 fans. Way to go Trevor, this took some real guts!!!! Oh yes, shine that trophy.

That was not a dunk...he threw the ball up and pulled down on the rim. People act like they have never saw a dunk before. Maybe it would have been nicer if he wouldnt have been down on his end of the court waiting for the ball. If he wouldve been on the defensive end this would have never happened.
