I have been around a lot of great coaches and a lot of different levels and i have absolutely never seen anything installed that fast. Again not doubting you if you say so I'm inclined to take you at your word. However you are the best i have ever seen and i hope you're sitting in a really nice coaches office somewhere making a lot of money. Because i have seen some guys in those offices that can teach it in 2 days.
It's lonely at the top, what can I say.

Sorry, you must be one of these guys that wear wrist bands and do not have to teach it. Listen, what about the variables you do not control. Kids knowledge of the game and football vocabulary. You can say whatever about not needing that time, but those that use it are ahead by 10 days and you are playing catch up.
Why would you want to try to get all players in June , when you have all players in school. You live in a perfect football world and it doesn't exist . Learn all concepts and volcabulary and schemes on both offense and defense in 2 days? Sorry don't buy it.
Players can buy in that is great, but great teams have great leaders as coaches . They also motivate. Sorry not a coach on the planet will turn their weight program over to the kids , even if they are great leaders.

Now that I can agree with.

Player led this, player led that?! Thats been the problem from the start. Players havn't bought into the program, they were upset about the firing of the old coach. Also, been numerous reports that many players are looking to transfer. There isn't any leadership to lead, player or coach.
Thinking that a 17 and 18 year old is going to lead an entire team is ridiculous too. Seen many kids lead by pushing teammates to show up and do extra but not lead and make everyone accountable. Who is the player that you think is suppose to be doing this?

Claiming an install can be done in days tells me you've never coached a day in your life. A true install takes weeks, and with a team moving to a new staff with new offense and defense a complete install most likely won't be finished in the first season.

redrocket Wrote:I do not know what you call complex. But this is laughable. There is not a simple let alone complex offense or defense that can be installed in HOURS that is the most ridiculous statement i have ever heard. Please humor me and tell me where you saw this hour offense installed and who was doing it i have to know. And if players on ANY level got it hours maybe you could tell me a little bit about this system i should be able to get a gist of it in MINUTES just by reading some about it.......Seriously tho lets hear about this.
I do not agree with all that has been said, but....
Holgorsen, Franklin and most of the air-raid guys are installing their offense in 3 days. There have been articles written about it on a national level when these coaches have changed teams. 3 day install is a thing. It cannot be done at Bell however.
05-14-2016, 12:22 AM
So entire system in 3 days, that is 6 hours when you talk practice time. The coaches can not learn a new system in 6 hours, not to mention an entire high school team.
05-16-2016, 02:09 PM
From what I have heard the system is quite simple. Easier than what they ran as little league players. Offense has 2 formations and a few plays. Either 2 TE's 3 RB's or 4 wide. Defense is not technique just everyone run and go, man to man everywhere. So maybe they don't think they need much time? Of course I know that you need to time to work on anything but maybe that is what their reasoning is? Requires less practice time which seems to be what this bunch is after. They have only been going about 45 minutes at practice. Again this is all second hand info from a couple of parents but I think they are trustworthy.

What we had of spring ball is now over. Many questioned if it is really important. Let me ask all of you this. You just hired a coach and he did not meet with team for 3 weeks, doesn't have a weight program and skipped most all of spring ball. Still has not put a staff together. Has not set up a summer program . Would you be concerned that you hired a guy with less fire and get up and go, than you should have to put a team back together? Does he seem to be hungry to keep this program on the level it has been? With what he has shown, is he a hard worker? Answer those questions and get back to me.

All are questions being asked in the community as well. Only time will tell but not a good start.

Come on down.

Installing is one thing, I can INSTALL anything. However, developing the fundamentals, rules, etc. to apply that install to whatever they may see on game night is a completely different animal.

Trainer isn't a coach. They have not had proper weight lifting at all. Sorry the coach should be there not standing around talking to John B and other members of the community. He should be developing a relationship with the players and getting to know them.

Someone tell me why John Brock is allowed back in the building? Someone thank him for this fine mess we have. I will do my part when I see him.

That is what I am saying that is the head coaches job not the trainer.
05-17-2016, 02:32 AM
The trainer is a therapist contracted by the school system to deal with injuries, he is not a school certified strength trainer. 2 totally different things. The Coach should be doing that, he is the 1 that has the training and libability. The proof will be in the pudding this fall on the field. It will be obvious what kind of work has been done.

Things do not get better. Look at where we are now and continue to go. Looks as if you guys hired someone that really just riding time out.
Pineville may very well be the best choice in the county. Funny how things can change so quickly when administrators think they know more than they do.

I thought i complained a lot, but you sir/maam make me look optimistic. Between this page and the middlesboro page all you do is complain. I'm guessing your son didnt get enough playing time?? anyway for you to say anything as crazy as pineville may be the best choice you're an absolute a$$ clown! Prineville will never beat us and has beaten middlesboro 1 time is 100 years. Just give it up your negativity and bitterness is far out shadowing mine or anyone else's. give it up Cry baby i wish your kid better luck in the future!

Hey maybe you're right maybe not, Things are not perfect here right now ill be the first to admit that. But the crap you go on with is just ridiculous. I don't have a problem with Pineville at all. But to sit here and say that they're the best option is crazy. I hope that you know that i really hope you're smarter than that. Seriously the bitterness is just rolling off of you!

Thanks again, but when a couple of yours go, get back to me.
Wait....some of your your young ones already have. Their parents must see the same as most others do. Pineville is the best OPTION.

You have way to much to worry about than Bell County. By the way did we not get and are getting some of your teachers kids? Football players and Cheer kids? That may show who is in real trouble. I guess Tn. made you happier than Middlesboro? Could have told you that before you came.
05-19-2016, 07:27 PM
I have tried to stay off your thread, and should have. Let me leave you with this, the reason Bell County has the coach they do is all of you and your past coaches would get on here and blast every decent coach that was interested. All sour grapes. So when you and redrocket and the rest, 9108, money, Finis and all that posted, wonder why he is there, go look in the mirror and you will find your answer. So when you post who is responsible, include yourselves.
Now , back to our problems. Good luck with yours.

ONE thing I can say is, the responsible parties are exactly who I list, I did not fire Wayne Mills.

Since it is Friday, just wanted to share my weekly thank you with Richard Gambrel, Tom Lefevers, Tom Gambrel, Superintendent Gilliam and last but not least John Brock Jr. Thank for the mess.
