Been on opposite sideline to this kid. He's a big time weapon. Would not surprise me to see on the field in Commonweath.

I got to see Tyler kick all through his high school career....

WOW. Very impressive. Congratulations Tyler and the whole JC family!

And congratulations to UK, for selfish reasons. I think he'll be a very good college kicker!
#5
Congratulations to Tyler. Always good to see one of our own in the Kentucky Blue.

Congratulations to Tyler. It is my understanding that he will be on an academic scholarship his first season and then translate over to an athletic scholarship for his remaining time. Several schools presented the same offer that UK did; Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Mississippi State and a few others, but he ultimately made the best decision for him. Good luck.

That will probably be the case. I may be wrong, but I think most kickers at the college walk on their first year and then become scholarship players after that.

Congrats to this fine young man. I'm more impressed on his academic scholarship than anything. I knew he had the leg, but brains to go with it is another thing. I tell all my players that student comes first in student/athlete for a reason. Well done and I'll be looking for you on the field soon.

Tyler has the potential to be kicking on Sunday's.

It's not out of the realm of possibility for Tyler to kick a field goal out of Commonwealth Stadium....

If he does that, I would Mark Out like no body's business!!!!!

Congrats to Mr. Pack, he can absolutely kick the crap out of a football. Can't wait to see him in Blue and White!!

Couple of questions here for the folks in the know. Is this a Preferred Walk on position? An Academic Scholarship will pay tuition, but not room and board. Some talk of being on scholly next year, is that something that was promised? Always thought it was to be based upon performance. Lastly, in looking at HUDL video of many of the kids in Kentucky, I noticed that most if not all used a kicking block of some sorts for field goals and PAT's. Did Mr. Pack and if so, how big of an adjustment will it be moving on to the college game where blocks are not permitted and the goal posts are more narrow.

Good for him

I honestly don't think I've seen a HS kicker use a block in forever for FGs and PATs. Just the tee for kickoffs.

What games have you been watching? Almost every kid I seen the last few years has used them.

Hope this young man comes in and we pin every team deep this year. How good is he without using a tee?

What makes you think that he will be kicking this year or maybe even next year? Am I mistaken that they have a kicker that Stoops recruited and offered a scholly to 3 years ago?

Congrats Mr Pack on making it onto the bigger stage. Keep working hard.

Pikeville's kickers kick off the turf. Honestly, even in the Pike County Bowl, don't think I saw any kickers kick off of a block. What games are YOU watching?

Congrats to Tyler, I hope to see him on the field kicking at Commonwealth...

I don't but he has a strong leg and if he shows it in the fall he may be kicking this year.

No hate at all. Good for the kid. All of the hype that surrounded him got him a walk on spot at one of the worst if not the worst team in the SEC.

It is about where he WANTS to go, not where we think he should.

Congrats to Tyler! This is a nice walk on addition for the Cats!

They could have done better, but were done in by all of the hype.

This quote plus three negative quotes about a kid that is going to play the game he loves at the next level while getting his education. Doesn't matter if it is walk on or scholarship or if it is Kentucky or Alabama. He's a kid. You must be a kid that could not get on the field for lack of talent to be so "butt hurt".

While mantax is whining on here.... Tyler is gearing up to play SEC football.
