Another win for Coach McCoy! East Ridge is starting to click and could be dangerous. Hopefully they will smack Pikeville again and hang a banner!

Coach McCoy proves why he is one of the best in the state again. Congratulations to the Warriors. This may be the last of Jim Bob Hicks at Shelby Valley.

Very likely that it's the end of the Hicks era.

Everyone could see this loss coming from a mile away. This has to go down as one of the all-time shocking finishes to a season.
Just think, less than 3 weeks ago Valley was sitting at 16-6 and was one of a few teams (along with Johnson Central and Magoffin) to be considered as possibly the second best in the region behind Lawrence. They had just represented the 15th at the state All-A Classic. And they were in the drivers' seat for the #1 seed in the district at 2-1, only needing to beat Pikeville at home to basically guarantee a spot in the regional. And then...
Valley proceeds to finish the season losing 6 of their last 7, with only a victory over Piarist to break the streak. This stretch included blowout losses at home to both Sheldon Clark and Pike Central, two teams with a combined record of 21-41. It included a loss on the road to another team with a losing record in Belfry. Of course there was the painful home loss to Pikeville that cost the Wildcats the #1 seed in district. Yet another loss came at home on senior night. Then the season ended with a thud by losing to a team Valley had already beaten 3 times in East Ridge. And with that, a team that seemed to show so much promise will not even play in the regional.
I don't have a personal dog in this fight. I don't have a kid that attends Shelby Valley. And I don't want to speculate on what may or may not have happened that fateful night against Pikeville. But considering how the season ended, I would be surprised if there is not a coaching change made this off-season.

Are you serious? One win makes McCoy one of best in state? If you watched the game, you would know that coaching had very little to do with the outcome, coach didn't miss 13 lay ups.

I would give you a gold sticker if I had one to give. Does that make you happy?
