Trace Young new school
#1
I have heard that Young is now attending Cordia and have also heard he was at Perry County Central. Either of these accurate? Supposedly no longer at Huntington Prep
#2
Who is he? How big is he? What grade?

I seen him with Cordia at Pulaski on Saturday. He was on their bench in jeans.

Kid goes from Ohio County, to Apollo, to Huntington Prep and now to Cordia. The system is a joke.

6'8" Junior guard with offers from V'Tech, USC & UMASS, among others.
#5
Well the KHSAA is such a joke at this point I hope Cordia wins the whole state next year. Then maybe they will do something to stop all of this.
#6
How many schools is this kid going to go to .
#7
If the KHSAA dont step in then the whole state is going to be out of control, There no excuse and they know it. You cant let this go on I mean its not like they got just one. 90% of them are not from the area. You can say Education all you want but everyone in the state know what happening. So you can bash me all you want. I know Perry and Hazard and Knott done it. Its not right but I know to compete with the Louisville Trinity of the world you have to but not the whole team. It not fair to the kids that are from there that wants to play and to the kids that played in the past. Like it or not bash me but the KHSAA got to stop it.

Funny how everyone has a problem with it now. Back when it was clay county, perry central, and knott central getting recruits in from all over the mountains nobody has a problem with it. I pull for cordia. The "basketball powers" in the mountains are just getting beat at their own game.
#9
It seems everyone is blind to the other schools doing this? Hazard took Chris Hudson away from Rhodes but that was okay. What about PCC with Paige, Johnson, and Tobler? Cordia does it and gets caught but its just because they dont have the money or the political pull to shut the big mouths up.
#10
WOW

I agree the recruiting has happened and should have been investigations with Perry and Paige. Johnson basically came when his former coach was hired on at Perry. But Hudson? How'd he get here to begin with????? Anyone that thinks what Cordia has been doing and still doing over the past 4 or 5 season is the same as what everyone else is doing, then you are blind. No school i know of brings in a crop of D1 players every year. Not downing any of the kids they bring in, its not their fault. So if you want to try to justify it by saying its the same, then by all means go ahead. Prep school in a Public school building.

Crop of D-1, Perry has recruited the same amount of D-1 as cordia-2

Where does Cordia's recruiting budget come from? Finally able to match KCC and PCC.
#15
Budget....lets see....UK player that actually played...NBA 1st round draft pick...former college coach...who has college coach connections all over America....and now State Championship program....hate to disappoint you....but you don't need a recruiting budget to get quality players....they come to you!

Winning all a dose not make you a state championship program. Be serious lol

I know no one will believe me when I say this, I can't even believe I am going to try and convince people of this but Rod Rhodes had absolutely nothing to do with this kid coming here. He came to cordia on his own free will. He was at the all A and watched cordia play. His dad has family on lots creek anyway and he is friends with Oumar and wanted to play with him.

Let's see with all the media coverage, police escorts, Governor invites to introduce your team to Congress, road signs being put up...I'm guessing it's a fairly big deal....did PCC not get the same treatment for winning the WYMT tournament? I'm sorry...let me make some calls!

I saw all the excitement on this thread and somehow figured I would jump in. lol. I have to throw this out there if there's any man to me. I have honestly given the Cordia faithful one hell of a hard time for this transfer business. This weekend while watching my Commodores get pounded by Southwestern I was astonished to see that our biggest fans were the remaining Cordia fans. They were supporting the 14th region. If that's not class then I'm a fool. My hat is off to them and I will never forget that. I'm a person that believes in principle and that's what they taught me. There's nothing else I can say. I'm man enough to admit that I never realized their fan base loved those kids so much and at the same time had the Class to support my team. Yep I'm at a loss for words but proud , very proud, of what I experienced.

Lol so this kid has family from Cordia. Lol I've heard it all now. Lol

I want to invite the Cordia fans to support my Commodores in the 54th district tournament next week against hazard. I will give you one good reason. I'm man enough to admit that I'm wrong and never dreamed that these kids at Cordia were such a part of that community. Watching their support at Pulaski co this weekend against Mercer co and then their fans support of my Commodores humbled me dramatically. I know they can't compete in the tournament and I honestly hate that now. So join me in supporting my team. I will be in Clay co tomorrow night to support your team as a return favor. Go Lions!

The All A is a joke. And to put signs up over it is dumb. Just like when Hazard won it PCC sent them home in the first round of district. So congrats on ur meaningless mid season tourney. To bad you can't play in any that matter. That must be why your trying to make little ole All A seem like a big deal.

Transfers like this are exactly why Cordia will be ineligible once again next season.... Keep in mind though, just because he's at Cordia doesn't mean he will become eligible. Remember Malik Hines a few years ago? Stayed at Cordia but never got eligible, to my knowledge (now at UMASS).

Not sure if this is a sarcasm post or not, but if I'm not mistaken didn't Rhodes bring 3 kids from Texas with him his first year? If he just wanted to coach at Cordia, why would he bring a team with him? I also find it hard to believe that he couldn't have gotten a way better high school coaching job than Cordia with all his college and NBA experience.
But as far as someone wondering where they get the funds to bring kids in, or that Cordia doesn't have political pull, that's nuts. I was actually shocked that the khsaa ever done anything to them. I may be wrong, but isn't the main sponsor of the sweet 16 a Cordia "supporter"? I know there is a huge car dealership owner that is a big time Knott county sports supporter. I couldn't care less what they do at Cordia, but I probably would make them decide if they are a prep school or public school bound by khsaa rules. (Khsaa rules. That's laughable.)

The kid should've stayed loyal to his school to begin with.. that's the problem kids know that they can leave because they can always come back and re evaluate all situations that he thinks is best for him.. this is not college.

why did he leave HP anyways?

I started sending $100 month when everybody started bad mouthing them.

I have heard that Cordia would be adding another huge star to their roster for next season...Looks like this is him...
