Shannon Hoskins is not only the best coach in Eastern Kentucky but he also the best dressed. Perry Central was head and shoulders above every team in the tournament.

PC has several good pieces and are very well coached, congrats to them. The Black Bears have a lot to be proud of from this tourney and when some of the younger kids mature a little more this group will be hard to handle IMO. Great tourney and a solid champion.....

I'm quite sure that black bear was speaking of PCC being a solid champion. This was a great WYMT. These kids in this area can play basketball people. My Commodores were fortunate enough to be clicking on all cylinders and beat some great competition. It would be nice to play South Laurel but they didn't make it. And they are too slow like I said previously to beat PCC or Lawrence co. They beat Clay in a consolation game but that will change in the tournament.

I appreciated Harlan County coming out and pressing from the start - That's what I like to see!
The Black Bears really didn't have an answer for Damon Tobler, but they never let up and were still in it until the last minute or so.

JMO, Harlan Co has the best coach between the three teams. Clay, South
I have not been impressed with South coach job at all. Them and Clay have the best talent, but effort is in and off.

I agree I told someone in the stands Harlan County has the best coach of the 3 13th region teams. South got a load of talent and Clay does also should be a good 13th regional tournament. The thing thats worry me about Perry is the Defense and the lazy passes at times, but overall they play well togather and shoot the ball well.

They deserved this tournament, and IMO represents the Mountain Classic in wonderful fashion.
We didn't have an answer for Tobler. No, he wasn't their only weapon, but we could match up better with the other scoring weapons. Tobler is just a dang beast!!! I tend to watch great players AFTER the game...just one of my quirks. Tobler was extremely humble and gracious after the game toward the Bear players. MY kind of athlete!!
Well, even if the Bears had pulled out that game, I couldn't be any more proud of them than I am this morning. What a team!!! I believe they have made a statement and caused some folks to take notice of them that haven't given them a lot of respect until now.

Perry was best team this week. Shot the ball really well. Tobler played inspired. What makes this tourny win special is Perry is/was the 4th or 5th best team in it

I respect your opinion but couldn't disagree with you more. Clay has 3 good players and Perry is a lot better all around team. South Laurel in my opinion does have the most talent but their defense is weak and I still think they are slow footed. Lawrence is just as good as all three.

Wasn't trying to ruffle feathers at all. Perry is the real deal. Just making the point. Clay ranked 16th. South 20th and Lawrence all considered by most to be but in wymt Perry was top dog

Congratulations Commodores and Black Bears. Commodores were the best team in this tournament and deserved the championship. All this what if, and, or buts is the reason we have tournaments and elections. They settle things. Commodores played team ball and played with heart they had 5 players in double figures in several games that is the way you win not on the play of one or two players. I was impressed with them and the Bears see great things ahead for Harlan County they don't have a senior on the team. Peace be among us. Brother Cecil.

Oh, I don't know if I would go that far, BUT the Bears don't lose unless they go out swinging. I hate quitters!! I didn't see any in this tournament. I sure did enjoy watching it!

Really good tourney. Was proud of the showing from the black bears. I too would agree that Michael Jones does a tremendous job coaching this team. This team is not as talented as probably 4 other teams that were in this tourney but man they play extremely hard. Really enjoyed going over to Knott Co last nite it was a great atmosphere

South Laurels defense is weak? They have by far the best defense in the 13th, and Lawrence county plays absolutely no defense. I was actually hoping to see a Clay-Lawrence game, just to see how many points was scored. It would've been like a open gym game.
I think Harlan played better than anyone, and shocked a lot of people. Perry is Perry. If they are hitting 3's they can play with most, if you can play man against them, they really struggle to score. It is funny however how people say one team is a favorite from one weekend to the next, instead of looking at the entire season, and recognize when a good team had a bad game, or a average team played a really good game. I guess that's the fun of it for us though.

I couldn't agree more for the 13th. It's gonna be fun. I think the 15th and 14th are Lawrence and Perrys to lose. They are head and shoulders above everyone else.

I actually wasn't referring to any team or game in the WYMT. I was actually talking about how the favorites in a month goes from South to Clay, back to South, and now Harlan, in just 2-3 weeks.
Obviously Harlan county was the better team the other night. That's why they was playing in the championship. I just think it's silly to put pressure on kids from any of these teams, that they haven't asked for. They're just playing to win and not caught up in "rankings", but the adults make sure they know who is suppose to be the "favorites".

Just an outsider from the 15th who watched on TV but agree with a lot posted the 14th &
15th Perry & Lawrence clear favorites but the 13th any of the three could win their region.
Harlan is better coached team but think if Clay can get their players to play D & play hard they are most talented. Prediction Clay wins 13th
