Clay County 60 Knott County Central 44
#1
FINAL. :Cheerlead

I am honestly surprised Knott was even that close.

Clay has so much talent and I've been their biggest supporter. However, they just seem like they have no rythum or just want to play one on one too much. It's like they are just a little out of sync maybe.

Not a good looking game for Clay County against a not so good Knott County Central team. They will need to drink plenty of fluids to beat Perry County Central. Go Clay County :Cheerlead

Tiggers roll. Win and move on.

I was not impressed with Clay tonight. Way people talked about how good Clay supposed to be. I thought they would beat Knott by 20 plus. They struggle with a young Knott team without their best player. If Perry hit threes like they did tonight they will run clay out of the gym Friday. I give Knott credit for battling in the game. They could be a team that give teams problems when tournament time comes around.

Sexton didn't play for Clay...

I understand sexton didn't played but still they struggle with a team that is young n without their best player.

I give Knott a lot of credit they battled Clay and were outmanned but it was closer than the score indicates. Blake Smith is tough he gets up so high on his shot he shoots over people. Farmer couldn't throw one in the ocean tonight but there will be games like that but he was frustrated and took some bad shots. Wes Wolfe played well Clay will be hard to handle they are athletic. Knott's players and coaches gave a very good effort. peace be among us. Brother Cecil.

The Tigers came to play but the effort was still somewhat sluggish at times. Nevertheless, it was still a solid win against a well-coached team. Knott fought hard and hit some shots. I believe Clay County was okay with giving up some 3's to the Patriots. It was great to see Blake Smith come out of his slump, along with the play of Wes Wolfe. Coty Arnold continues to improve game by game with more confidence. Take note of Will Sexton's absence and the fact that Farmer was off a little. Time to get ready for Perry Central.

Not impressed with Clay(at least last night). Little to no offensive rhythm. It's like the first guy that gets the ball that can possibly get a shot off shoots the ball. Does anyone have a post presence in high school anymore? I'm not sure I saw ONE entry pass to someone inside. Defense and rebounding are lackluster too. I thought Arnold played hard and Smith but just too many bad shots to beat a good team I think.

About Perry hitting the "threes", the same thing could be said for any team on the planet. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

I agree with you that about any team could hit threes like Perry did last night. I was impressed by how they move on offense n the floor spacing they have on offense. Be a tough game for clay. If clay play a zone like they did against Knott it could be a long night for Clay.

Didn't get to see this one but based on seeing the Boyle game, yes they are a little out of sync. However, if they play like they did earlier in the season all of the negative talk will be silenced. Beating Knott at home by double figures and play, by all accounts, very poorly and without a starter, not too bad of a nights work when it's all said and done. I would rather slump a little now than later.

There's lots of factors that come into play for all teams this time of year. The Christmas break changes kids schedules drastically. Many teams, like Clay, travel long distances for tournament play. At times the focus is just not completely on basketball, and in truth it shouldn't be. After being off for 2 weeks or so it's back to school and a different schedule to follow again. These are not any kind of excuses, just putting things in perspective for all high school teams, not just the Tigers.

[Image: https://i.imgflip.com/wyu0m.jpg] Bolz, ole Fatpat give props to the Tigers and Smith! Pats were within three and game was close until mid 3rd quarter and Smith went Tiger style! He's a straight up balla! Young Pats played a good game without our leader Combs! Ole Fatpat made some new Clay friends and talked a little basketball in hospitality room! Now to focus from Tigers to doggies tonight! #nocigarcelebration More mash taters please!!!

Clay may be a little leg weary after traveling to Las Vegas for a tournament and then to Corbin 3 times last week for their tournament.
