Congrats to Whitney Creech
KId must be good , but travel outside of the mountains and play....please.
Well they are playing in a tournament in TN in Pigeon Forge. I think they are playing in a tournament in Montgomery Co. They played in a tournament in VA. They play a lot of games against teams in there region.

They should play at Lex Cath against some good competition. That way everyone would get to see her play against some players.
Well the girl is legit. Western wouldn't of already signed her otherwise. They only have 7 kids on Jenkins team from what I heard. So probably don't have the depth to play to many tournaments.

But she can shoot, score, and rebound.
The legend grows.
You will be able to watch her on TV next basketball season.
You fellas must live in the mountains where the frost dont leave for days. Basketball is a little better when you leave them hollers.......
Hard to score 40 a game against the school for the blind.
I live in Virginia, about 20 miles from Jenkins. I coach at Central H.S. in Wise and we have won the past two VHSL Group 2A State Championships. We have not faced Jenkins and Whitney Creech, but I've seen her multiple times. The criticism many of you are directing towards her is very unjust. The young lady can flat out play the game, period.
Ok other than points scores can someone post some real stats for everyone to see? Like shot attempts and shots made? Like 3 point shooting percentage etc?
Let me help you. In college or against some players that are not midgets she is going to have to shoot the three. She will not be able to just drive and shoot layups and if she misses get her rebound, she is not big enough. Here is her 3 point shooting on the year:

5
Creech, Whitney
7 10 38 26.3% 1.4
55 in a loss to Casey Co in overtime. They play Jackson Co today.

She is also leading the state in rebounding.

This is uncalled for..... What makes you better and smarter than us in the "hollers"? My Granddaughter is only a sophomore is and I guarantee she has played more basketball "outside the mountains" than you have (that is if you ever played basketball). People like you make me sick! Now have your laugh, but maybe you should come up to Jenkins HOLLER and watch the NATION'S leading scorer play!

She needs 685 points to break it. They have 21 games left. She has to average 32.6 points from now until the end of the season. Barring no bad weather. I think they dropped out of the All A, so 21 counting one district game. There is a chance she could play two more.

I'm sure some of us do live in those kind of hollers...I know I sure do.

But, that is off topic. Please refrain your comments to the topic of the thread.

Thank you.
Thanks Granny Bear!

Whitney is 60% from the field. Scoring 55 yesterday against Casey County, only 3 of those points were from behind the arc.
Whitney Creech alert: Jenkins defeated Jackson County 90-78 in Gatlinburg. She scored a career-high 65 points in the victory. 4329 iching closer to second place all time.

Why did they drop out?

I am not saying anything negative about the people in the hollers. I am saying the level of competition is not as high there. Blair Green will go to the school of her pick, just like Morris. UCONN was there recently I read. Brock at Harlan is a player. Noble at Perry Central was a great high school player and is a stud at WKU. Creech is good, but not the level of any of the kids I just mentioned at the college level. Just because you shoot 50 times a game and score 50 does not make you the best basketball player. Best basketball player in high school in Kentucky right now is Boley at Elizabethtown. Going to Notre Dame. Top player in Kentucky and top 5 player in nation. Boley has proven time and time again on the biggest stages in American and on 3x3 USA basketball that she is one of the best players in the world, not against Jackson County. Case closed.
OK guys....if you wanna talk about the best player in the state make a thread about it. This is about Creech journey to being the all time scoring leader. Mods will be monitoring this.

Just got a message from Jenkins coach. They will be in the All A and play Leslie Co. It was originally on the schedule but got taken off. She said they didn't drop but the tournament was taken off somehow.
