Final

I watched this game on TV. The score isn't indicative of how close it was the entire time. Great game!! Congratulations Tigers!!
Clay County has two tons of talent. However, the glue that binds them and encourages their performance is still Smith! What a great team player!! I'm so excited to watch him this season.

What a game and what an atmosphere! Not a full house but loud and proud. Reminded me of the old days. Worth the price of admission, and I'm tight! Great decision to chase Alvey at the end. Tigers had lots of good play from everyone. Cody Arnold provided some quality minutes off the bench.

Very entertaining game. It was reminiscent of the good ole days. Great win tigers

Clay County don't give up in the Bobby Keith House. Wow!!! What a game :Cheerlead

Congrats Clay. Tiggers are tough at home.

People can say what they want.....but if clay will play team ball and trey farmer will rebound the way he did tonight......no one in the 13th will beat them including south laurel.....with that said....selfish play and lack of playing hard....there are a few teams that can beat us....heck of a win tonight for the tigers....

Clay has a lot of good players but I still think the piece to the puzzle that is most important is Tyler Gray. Without him they have no big man. With him they can beat anyone.

One of the keys to the win last night was wh ebb Marcum went small and didn't play either of his bigs, The game was way to fast for Gray and Gabbard, but against big teams tjose two are vital to the tigers success.
Wes wolfe was a beast last night on offense and defense. You will always get what you gey out of Smith and Farmer , key is the other players for clay

This is a great win for clay but if you will look on the 13th region fAcebook page not many doubted clay would win this game at clay

Exactly. Arnold was able to run the floor and step out and defend when needed. I thought the 2 bigs battled hard when they were in but it just wasn't their type of game. Wolfe certainly stepped up on both ends of the floor. I would have liked to have seen the chaser on Alvey a little earlier. He buried 9 wide open threes!

This Ballard team while still very athletic just doesn't have the normal Ballard elite basketball players. Just in the last few years they've had Jalen Perry, Quentin Snider, Kelan Martin, LaVonne Holland, Dontez Byrd, Malik Dow(now at Mercer Co) and even football standout Devante Parker was a pretty good basketball player. Ballard doesn't have anyone this season that separates them from the other Louisville schools.
Still a very nice win for Clay over a top 5 region 7 team but with this game being at Clay and it was the Bobby Keith Classic, I think very few doubted Clay wouldn't win.

I had clay winning by three. My thinking was at clay and ballard played on the road fri nite. Clay had not played since tue I think. Clay time to prepare and fresher but like I said still good win

Ballard beats anyone else in the 13th outside of clay and south by 20, and even Taylor from south would struggle against a running team like ballard, its just like an AAU team and Taylor barely avg,. Double figures in summer ball too much up and down the floor for his style of game

I disagree with you Randy_Watson about Caleb Taylor not being able to keep up with Ballard. He has already proved he can hanged with running team this year against Mercer County 20pts 10RB and against Owen County 27pts 13RB. eriously:

Neither team mentioned pressed and ran the entire game like Ballard did. BTW South lost both games and CC won. Not much else to say.

I understand now I was only taking up for Caleb Taylor. Just liked I would for any kid in the 13th. :HitWall::HitWall::HitWall:

This is not your normal Ballard type team however a win against any Ballard team is still a good win.

Owen nor Mercer was a running and pressing team, good teams but they do not force tempo on both sides of ball. Taylor is a beast at what he does, but i watched him all summer and he is a different player in a fast paced game, its not a knock on him but outside of a player like Colton Elkins a true big will struggle against teams that play like ballard.

Nobody avgs as much in Aau as they do for their school team. Cameron justice avg 12 PTs a game for his Aau team

Taylor is a totally diff player this year than last year. He runs floor better than you think.

With all due respect, Clay only won by 4 @ Clay, South oniy lost those two games by 1, and 2 points respectfully @ North. .A few questionable calls, here and there, going one way,or the other, and South wins both games,or Clay loses by a few. IMO All 3 games, could have easily went either way,and that's the bottom line....

Im not knocking the kid but you are delusional if you think his game fits with an up and down fast paced athletic game. I personally think hes the best big in the state, but i also know what he is good at and what he isnt. Some people cant handle an honest assessment

To steal one of Stonecolds sayings.....Bottom line...Mercer Co and Owen Co are both better teams than Ballard. And as I stated the win over Ballard is a nice win for Clay but a win over Wayne Co or Lafayette would've been more impressive.

By the sounds of u guys. Losses to Mercer and Owen is more impressive than a win over Ballard. That doesn't make sense to me.

Mercer Co is an uptempo team, South Laurel was very patient offensively and able to control the tempo against them.

Not at all....Ballard win is very nice win....not a great win. A loss is never ever good. And I will add that Clay knows how to close out these close games into wins and thats something South Laurel needs to learn.
