Sounded like a hard fought tight game. I listened to parts of it on the radio. Carmical made two ft's with 4 seconds left to seal the victory....

Congrats to Bears

Great ball game. Both teams played really hard. KC has a nice club, led by Liford and Marsee. Carton had a big game off the bench. HC had some challenges with KC s length, but made plays down the stretch to secure the win. Spurlock had a huge 3 late to put the Bears ahead by two, and Nolan and Carmical had big free throws as well late. Both teams will be right there in March.

Carmical continues to amaze me with his poise and leadership....just to name a couple of his positives.

Considering he had struggled shooting throughout the night lets you know he has that shooters confidence.... Go Bears!

I think most of us had Knox Central ranked a little too low. They are definitely better than I expected. They are
One of the bigger teams in the region, and Marsee is just a load, and hard to handle.
1. Clay Co.
2. SL
3. Harlan Co.
4. Knox Central
5. NL
6. Whitley Co.
7. Barbourville
8. Corbin
9. Bell County
10. Lynn Camp
11. OBI
12. Jackson Co.
13. Pineville
14. Harlan Ind.
15. Williamsburg
16. Middlesboro
17. Red Bird

Can't wait for the Buckhorn/Harlan County matchup in the WYMT. It will be a barnburner.

Not unless Harlan changes some. They never go to their low posts and all the hype about Spurlock, I just didn't see it.

Knox is going to be good. Real good. Give the bears credit on a tough win. Come on people we won the game. Young team played well for sure. Go bears.

I had them ranked too low, but they have a different team than they had in the summer with Liford and Harmon (both starters) and Allen joining the team after summer games.

For a team with no seniors and winning 3 tough games at three different sites, I think HC is doing some really good things.

The Bears are off and running, great start to the season...

How did all of those players get eligible? I was told that at least one of them still lives in the same house as they did last year.

Congrats Harlan

SL is #1. Clay a distant second. Next 4 throw in a bag and shake out. They are very even. North has most talent of 4 but have failed to step up last couple of years. Bears, NL, KC and Whitley are capable of winning region. Don't know about Barbourville without Dinky. Corbin and Bell will improve. Not sure if either have the horses to be competitive. The rest are not competitive.

Clay a distant 2nd to SL is laughable, If SL and Clay played 10 times, clay wins 7 out of 10. Ive seen them both multiple times, and Clays "A" game is better than Souths
12-11-2015, 04:13 PM
I do agree that there is a big drop off after Clay and South , plus Clay is way better coached than than South
12-11-2015, 04:22 PM
Agree that Clay is ahead of South and then a big drop to rest, with HC leading that group, but i also think you won't see Corbin getting beat the way Clay beat them the rest of year. I think corbin is right there with Whitley and North
12-11-2015, 04:25 PM
I haven't seen anybody play this year!! I gotta catch up!
12-11-2015, 06:06 PM
With the expectations of beating quality teams this year, which is what I believe this HC team expects to do, they will have to improve their offensive efficiency and improve their overall shooting %. We have scorers, I would just hope we get good shots and they will start falling at a better rate IMO.
