"Calvin Napier" Wrote:There is no rivalry in football between these two teams, Belfry dominates them. You have to beat a team from time to time to be considered a rivalry. As for B-ball both teams should be fine, they just need some rest and they should cruise into the regional's. But this is where it end's for both teams in the first round of regions. A couple of Belfry player's really have a bad attitude IMO.
Aparently you have never been to a Blackcat/Pirate football game?

Only reason Maynard pushes off is because he is faster than any one on the floor, the defense has to body up to him and ride him down the floor to slow him down. So yea I would get tired of it too and push off.

Lewis Barnette officially had 12, but he really had 13. 3 seconds to go, Barnette looks down to check his feet, pulls the three pointer, it's good. Prestonsburg gets screwed over. @ Belfry no less. Go figure.

No they were not screwed. Last night after the replay of the game channel 3 in Prestonsburg went live and replayed the shot 3 or 4 times, and it is clear that Lewis' feet were on the line.

A push off is a push off.

Tuff games for the Blackcats lately. 2losses in OT! Keep playing hard, you will start pulling them out. P-burg is a good team!

In follow up to my post earlier when the idiot attacked the post, I am a person of my word. Louis Barnetts left foot was behind the 3 point line and his right foot was on the line. So the call was correct. But that is not the whole story, the video also showed that the last free throw that Belfry made, the player clearly had his foot on the line, should have been a violation. The TV crew noticed it live during the broadcast and zoomed in on the player's feet. I guess Mike Hall was busy checking his route to the dressing room in lieu of looking at the shooter feet. Should have been double overtime.

well a lil birdie told me last night this quote and it came from pburgs side......."Players win blowouts, Coaches lose close games" and thats one hell of a quote IMO

And P'Burg lost.....fair and square.
Blame whoever, but the better team won.

I haven't had a chance to post in this thread and by reading it I think that everyone agrees that Mike Hall is horrible and should hang up the whistle...:ref2:
I only got to watch the game after halftime and it was a great 4th quarter game. Congratulations to the Belfry Pirates for the win!!!

I wouldn't say the better team won, if anything the two teams match up well. The way they both played you could tell wasn't their best game.

if pburg played their best and belfry played their best there is no question belfry would come out on top...belfry proved they are the better team and they will again win they win the 15 region..
02-26-2006, 04:44 PM
Even though I think Belfry is the better team, I don't go around shouting it. Nothing is for certain with things of that nature, so please atleast TRY and be mature when posting.

It's going to take a lot more than that to beat Paintsville.

First off congrats to Belfry on a great comeback win. I will agree that P-burg is a better team than Belfry but I would say that P-burg just wore down in the end. I mean they have played the 2 of the tops in the regions in OT games during the same week, that being Belfry and Paintsville. But they will be ready to play againist SF. Good luck to both teams during Dist.

Prestonsburg IMO wont even make it out of the district, Belfry had a bad nightan still beat them, if Belfry had played even 75% they would of beat PBurg by 10+...
02-27-2006, 10:39 AM
Prestonsburg had a bad night too.. so I don't see Belfry beating them by 10+... If Prestonsburg played to their potential against Belfry they would beat them 12+
02-27-2006, 10:57 AM
I'm not even going to argue with you on this, Prestonsburg isn't half as good as all you Pburg fans try to make them...

That is lame. Prestonsburg had this game in the bag, and GAVE it away. Belfry had a bad night because for 3 quarters Prestonsburg outplayed them and then for some reason or another decided to play matador defense the 4th quarter. Don't give me that crap.

"BeaverCreek Connection" Wrote:I beg to differ with you, I was on the end where the shot was taken. Here is what I saw, Barnett looked down at his feet and took a dribble back and then took the shot. It appeared to me that both feet were outside the line, in fact I thought the ref. said the shot was after the horn, not that is was a two. The game is on video and I am watching it now. It will tell the story, in fact I hope it was a two because I would hate to thing that the ref. determined another outcome. Once I review the video I will post.
I was listening to this game on Friday night and the announcers said that Lewis looked down at his feet and then shot the ball. If he knew that they were down three and then he would have made sure he was behind that arch. The announcers said they were sure it was a three.

which announcers were you listening to?? 95.5?? They were sitting on the other side of the floor at the scorers table...how could they see it??? The announcers from EKB said it was a two IMMEDIATELY when he shot it...they were sitting right above the play....and lastly....get a copy of the game film...was a two..CLEARLY...like a Pburg fan so distinctly put it...don't give me that crap....

Lord have mercy you guys are so touchy. I was just saying what I heard on the radio. Did I in any way say it was fact? In fact I don't know what radio station I was listening to because I was on my way back from East Ridge and you can't pick up alot of stations back in there...or at least I couldn't...and besides I wasn't trying to find your game I was trying to pick up results on the Paintsville PCC game....but your game was the only one I could find. So take a chill pill....and stop believing that everyone who happens to disagree with you and your precious Pirates is dissing you in some way.

Belfry played horrible until the end of the game, even then they was only playing about 85%, Prestonsburg isn't half as good as Belfry you can cry all you want...
