Bowling Green 21 Pulaski County 7
#1
Final.

Congratulations Purples.
#2
Pulaski's only score came on the first drive within 40 seconds of the beginning of the game. They came close all night long, and played great defense, but the Purples would not be denied.

If Bowling Green's QB needed an hour and a half to set up a pass, his O line would give it to him. Never seen anything quite like it.

Congratulations to the Purples on their win and to the Maroons for a wonderful season.

Pulaski needed to punt on that 4th down and 1.

Congrats Bowling Green state 5a champs...

Living The Dream!!

I picked Male and Bowling Green in the preseason to win title. 2/3 aint bad so far.
Didn't have Pikeville
#6
Highlands ( an average team at best) almost beat PC, not surprised BG won, and BG looks down from past years. BG should be favorite at start of next year.
#7
Congrats BG. Lights out defense.
#8
Great run by PC. Hall goes down as 1 of winningest QB's in state history
#9
Whatever
#10
Congrats purples
#11
Well...it just wasnt the Maroons night. Tough ending to a great career for PC seniors. 3 straight state title berths and 1 championship. Not too shabby. Numerous school records broken as well. Hold your heads high Maroons. Congrats to BG. They earned this one.
#12
They both should be proud. One heck of a championship game.
#13
Was a very very sad day for my Maroons. Hats off to BG. They were the better team. Hey we will be back. Congrats to Riley Hall, heck of a player.
#14
Congrats to BG. Congrats to Maroons on a great 3 year run.

I disagree...I would've done exactly the same thing.

First thing Pappy said to me this morning.....There are some sore young men waking up today! I agree!!

No surprise here.
#17
Great game. Congratulations to the Purples on a great win. Both teams were very good.
#18
As I said in the prediction thread. If BG was all they were talked up to be, score would be a 14 points spread or more. Listening to the 2nd half of the broadcast on KHSAA they seemed to indicate that the score should have been 48-7. Guess my evaluation of Pulaski was pretty much spot on.
#19
Well whomever said that the score should be more like 48-7 is just wrong. Pulaski missed a touchdown run by about 5 yard just before half time. That would have tied up the score.

Both teams played their hearts out, and the better team won. However, you can't take away the fight, heart and talent of Pulaski.

Both teams represented very well, and I was proud of the effort of both teams. Great game to watch!!

It was a hard fought game, just like we thought it would be. It's a shame someone had to lose. Two great teams slugging it out. Pulaski County is a class act! The sportsmanship shown by both teams was great to watch. I can't count the times they helped each other up and patted each other on helmet. These teams respected each other and it showed. It was a hard hitting game and Bowling Green's defense won the game for us. Good luck to the Pulaski County seniors. They were a great group and always fun to watch. I hope we get to see the next great Pulaski County team next year. Bowling Green will return most of their skill players and defensive line, so you haven't seen the last of us. Good luck next year.

this was far from the truth.. pulaski d held tough all night. just a few plays here and there did not go their way.

can't complain pulaski has had a great run the past few years and i suspect more great seasons in the future.

Congratulations Bowling Green, state champs!
#24
Congrats to both PC and BG. Best 5A schools in the state. No doubt
#25
Congrats Bowling Green

Great Run PC. Keep your heads held high. You will be the standard that teams around here will be judged by from now on.
#26
PC and BG could rule 5A

I definitely think these two will meet again. It would be nice to start a series between them. It won't take long for Pulaski County to reload. They're not just a great team, they're a great program.
#28
We will have to see, but now that Hall and the other PC seniors are gone, I don't know if Pulaski will be the best team in the county next year. We will see.

But North Laurel, Southwestern, Harlan Co., Highlands, and a host of others have to be liking their chances now, due in part to PC graduation.

With our Youth Football League and Middle school programs we ( SW and PC) will be in the conversations for the foreseeable future. But I don't see a 3 year run like this group did. That was a special group.
#29
I am impressed with Pulaski County's run ( 3 title games in 3 years), but Bowling Green's run has superseded it and is amazing.
#30
BG played well. You won't hear this much from me Adopted Purple haha, but congratulations! It's well deserved. Pulaski is tough. Congratulations to them on their season. Great season by both teams.
