Lexington Catholic vs. Belfry (3A State Championship)
#91
I usually love to troll Belfry but just so you know...

The Wideshow is on your side this week!!! Go Pirates!!!!

Belfry 21 to Lex Cath 7
LC better stack the box, because if they don't Belfry will turn the small yardage into big yardage. Belfry will have LC playing out of there comfort zone and this will cause them trouble. Belfry make teams play there game in turn causes them to make mistakes. These LC LB's haven't got to meet these two big tackles. If they flow to the ball they will meet them. Plus KHSAA gave Haywood 7 days to practice against them. If I was a betting man I would bet they practice the day of the bus ride down and Sunday. The boys will be more then prepared

If you were to put the pads on play against Boyle for four Quarters you might change your mind when Boyle and Central played Boyle was the most physical team of the two Boyle has always been physical ask some of the Bell county fans about the wars they've had with Boyle you don't have to be freakishly huge to be physical.

Just my opinion. I watched on Ihudl. Bells not physical either. Like I said. No disrespect. I just don't see it. Maybe I'm just use to real physical play because I'm a mountain guy. Everybody will agree Mountian kids bring more wood!!! And yes Bell is a Mountian team. But lately they have looked soft

Speed doesn't matter on a fullback dive. You have to be physical to stop fullback dive. Belfry doesn't care to run it. Idk how many plays belfry ran against Corbin, but for arguments sake let's say they ran 70. Of 70 plays belfry ran fullback dive in some form, 50-55 of those plays. Just when your linebackers stay home to help stop it, Corbett pulls it and takes the option around the end.

This will be by far one of the better games for Belfry, but it will be something LC hasn't ran into all year. I hope LC's QB doesn't put there receivers in harms way. If they do catch a pass they will have to pay the price. Those safety's and cornerbacks are out to redeem themselves. And I sure wouldn't want to be the guy going up after a high pass or not know were they where. I think after a good hit or two LC's receivers will be listening for foot steps.

Lexington Catholic want have a chances against Belfry or I don't know nothing about football. I will banned myself for 6 months on BGR football thread if Lexington Catholic wins. That's how much I believe in this Belfry football team untill we meet again in Corbin. Corbin knows now what they got to do to beat Belfry now. Need a track star at receiver maybe 2. A nice TE and moved me to water boy duty. Game on TongueirateSho

Hold you to that! You sound confident. I don't think I would say that if my team had lost 49-7 & barely beat a mediocre Lawrence team. Dang is this Belfry or the Bengals we are talking about?

And a 6 month ban from this Sunday is only June. Ain't nothing going on then in HS football anyway.
64SUR is not a Belfry fan

64 is a Corbin/Williamsburg fan

And who is your team? Honest question
If you're a LexCath fan, I hope your whole fan base and team are basing us off of the Midland and Lawrence game Smile
64SUR has cousins on most every high school football team east of 75 and south of 64. Any teams that are lacking his kin, are normally coached by them!!!

Smile

And I believe every word of it, too!
Ain't that right, 64??
should be a good game Lexington Catholic won some big games on the road Belfry played every game at Home and actually had a cake walk, it will be exciting game. I think Lexington Catholic is playing well right now and so is Belfry. I think Lexigton Catholic wins in a good game 27-20

Have to partially disagree with you. No doubt their PLAYOFF road was a little easier than Lex Cath, but their regular season schedule more than compensated. So while the playoff games were somewhat of a cakewalk, they were battle hardened by the regular season and all the differing styles they faced. I got what you were trying to say, but didn't want anyone with he misconception they didn't play a tough schedule.
Lexington Catholic is a basketball school 100%. Their twitter page has mentioned the game on Sunday 2 times and has a picture of their basketball gym as the cover. The facebook page mentions the game 2 times and has a picture of graduation as their cover. Nothing wrong with that, but football at LC is not their primary sport.

I wasn't talking about this years Bell county team I was talking about some of the great Bell teams of the past that Boyle played in the playoffs Boyle has always been a very physical football team, you don't have to be from eastern Ky to play physical football I promise you guys don't have the market cornered on being physical.

Catholic is really good at all sports. Baseball, they are great every year. they had a first round draft pick and current mlb player Ben Revere, Winston Guy currently plays in the NFL, every year both girls and boys basketball teams are great. Volleyball, lacrosse, soccer, golf, track, tennis, swimming, etc are top notch as well

Understandable, but every school has that one sport they really excel in and that's Basketball. Henry Clay is Football,PLD is Band, Pike Central is Basketball and Belfry is Football.
LexCath is going to get a big dose of smash mouth football. IF Belfry can't stop the Knights, they may make the game more interesting that what most think. Belfry should keep the chains moving, and the clock rolling. Pirates 26 Knights 22

I'm was talking about this years teams. From what I seen of the Boyle/ LC game I didn't see physical play. Just my opinion.

Not necessarily

When talking about County Public schools I would say this is generally the trend...

When you start talking about Private Schools and some Independent Schools I would not agree with that.

Trinity, for example, excels in almost everything.

Look at Pikeville as well that usually is very good in soccer, baseball, and football.

I would consider LexCath to be one of the most well rounded athletic programs in Kentucky. (**NOTE THIS IS NOT A "RECRUITING" STATEMENT**) A lot of that has to do with the fact that their talent pool is conducive and you typically have a large portion of kids who had parents choose to send their kids to LexCath over the school district they fall in.

Typically coaching, more specifically at the Assistant Level, is fantastic at LexCath and they really take pride in some of the secondary sports that public schools tend to overlook.

I was talking about this years Boyle team as well as Boyle's past teams they've always been physical, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
I'm real excited to see this one. It's gonna be a dandy.

Henry clay is not good in football, they have a ton of talent and never do anything. Henry clay has better track and basketball than football. PLD is probably best known for great cheerleading teams
