I hope so too. Main concern is that the team focuses on themselves and just gets into he right frame of mind mentally for the game. It is all going to come down to execution both ways. Do I believe we have the personnel? YES. Scheme? YES. Now it's about understanding the deal is not finished and no matter what we say on here or in the stands, Beechwood is not going to roll over because they feel the same way. I've got faith in Coach Mac and staff to get the boys ready, we appear to be healthy as horses (knock on wood), and now it's just time to realize what's in front of them and go TAKE it because it will not be given. Expecting one hell of a game.

No kidding, this Beechwood team reminds me a lot of the Beechwood teams of the late 80s that Pikeville handled. Really. Not having Stringer really hurts them too.
Last year's Williamsburg team would have loved to have faced this Beechwood team in the finals. Get it done Panthers!

I know Pikeville fans may hate me over picking Paintsville all year. But somebody had to beat them and Pikeville did without Kash or with him it doesn't matter to me. Pikeville is the #1 team in 1A in the east. I still believe the west is weak just like I did last year and now since 2A mayfield is gone the east will rise again. Go Pikeville. :Cheerlead

If my math is correct after this game, the WINNER of the PIKEVILLE/BEECHWOOD game will have won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP 12 out of 14 TIMES!

The only two winners in this series not to win state would be the 1972 Pikeville Panthers and the 1995 Beechwood Tigers.

If Stringer is out, it will be tough for Beechwood. However, don't go to thinking that it isn't possible. Beechwood will still be a handful. I really don't care other than for one reason. That is, I don't want to see Beechwood get to 12 state titles before Mayfield.

Actually it was a response to JPs reports about Beechnut fans on other sites going on about how Pikeville hasn't played anyone and basically inscribing their name on the trophy before the game is even played....And then a Beechnut fan comes on here trolling and proves my point for me....

I like the way Pikeville is playing. The players and coaches have to be loose. Don't get caught up in over thinking everything. Pikeville is listed as the under dog and needs to play that way. Do what you do best and play as hard as you can. That's all you can ask for.

Guy on that other site saying "smh if Beechwood plays like its state championship teams Pikeville doesn't have a chance." Of course it's not necessarily true but he fails to realize that by that same logic if Pikeville plays like their state championship teams Beechwood will get creamed:

Some things never change. You can always count on Beechwood to be cocky. Sometimes they can back it up, sometimes they can't (see above :biggrin.
