They let a very average Knox County team rush for 400 yards against them and they barely broke 80 yards of total offense. After seeing what belfry did JC and then embarrassing LC last week, I look for belfry to get another running clock this week. They picked a great time of the year to have everybody start peaking for them. Very dangerous group and they seem to be gaining momentum week after week. Good season for Corbin though.

I came to realize today that at the absolute most we have 17 games left with Ray Horton on our roster... could be fewer... but man, what a career he has had already in 3 (almost) seasons. I'm sure all of 3A will come to graduation just to give him a hand as he walks across the stage, but we may not see another player like him for a very long time.
I REALLY hope Haddix uses a good rotation this week. He has some athletes that have been on the sideline that could really help, especially on the defensive line but I haven't seen him sub much. The end positions really need to be rotated.

The same Knox Central team that did the same thing to a Central team that will probably be the 3A champs?

You cant look at that game. Trust me on that one. Add in the fact that Knox probably played there best game of the year and wanted to beat Corbin more than win a region also had something to do with it.

I wouldn't be surprised for a second if Belfry runs all over Corbin, but Corbin is good enough to prevent that if they play well.

The Belfry fans are a lot like the Mayfield fans they have the hardware to back up the smack so really can't talk much smack to them about football. I got to know a lot of these Belfry parents and fans during the Team Kentucky a few years ago and have great respect for them and their program. Most Belfry fans are as red necked as me and I like that about them. I usually don't talk smack unless someone gets on me or my kids and to this point my friends from Belfry have been very respectful.

Now is not the time to be polite. Confusednicker:

Ive got a feeling after dealing with Belfry for a couple of years, the disdain for them will be just as high as it is for Bell.

Death to the pirates.TongueirateSho
I looked forward to seeing belfry panic in this game. Confusednicker:

We been here the last six years. Why would we panic. Lol. Next year maybe because Corbin will be better. But PANIC is a big word and We just don't do that!!! If I was panicking I wouldn't have already Reserved my Room in BG. But if we lose I will gladly give it to A Corbin Fan!!!!!!
Anything can happen during semi finals week, but I just don't see Corbin being able to match the Pirates score for score. If Corbin has had trouble stopping the run all year then this could be a nightmare for the Redhounds. Everyone knows Belfry is a run heavy dominated offense, its death by a thousand cuts. 4 yards here 4 yards there and rattle the chains! Sustaining long time consuming drives is just enjoyable for the Pirates as a long play from the line a scrimmage.

I do expect Corbin to be able to reach the endzone against Belfry, but one thing Haywood and his staff in excellent at is making game time adjustments. Once those adjustments are made and the strength of this Belfry team there defense clamps down it will be very hard for Corbin to keep up with the Pirates.

I did watch some film on Corbin and did notice there overall team speed is not really great. Which could also be a problem since the Belfry defense purses to the ball so well. All in all I think it will be a long for Corbin as the game progress

Belfry 42
Corbin 18
Weather could be a factor. Latest forecast calls for rain, rain and more rain

I'll be you a 100 Central will not be the 3A champs this year...

High 69 10% chance of rain in Belfry for Friday.

Looks like it should be much warmer than last years semi final.
AtlPirateFan Wrote:Looks like it should be much warmer than last years semi final.

Definitely colder last year. Warm through Friday then rain and cooler on Saturday.
I'm just hoping WKU loses so I can go to state if belfry makes it.
skully03 Wrote:I'm just hoping WKU loses so I can go to state if belfry makes it.

It's not looking good for that

WKU is 7-0 in C-USA and Marshall is 6-1

Even if WKU loses, there is a good chance they will host anyway because it goes to the team with the highest winning percentage overall.

Yes, so we will know before kickoff Friday night what day everyone will play on.

I meant to say could of been.

IMHO this game is inevitably for second place anyways, but Central could have easily been the 3A champs the same way Lex Cath could be.
I could be 100% wrong.... But don't you just love seeing the Pirates making reservations to Bowling Green a week early. LOL. I'd say you better atleast wait for hotel reservations till about 10 pm Friday night.. Anyways, I hope their kids think the same way as some posters do on here... Maybe, jus maybe Corbin will actually make the 3 1/2 hour drive to Cam and just shake hands and load back up and drive back.... I doubt it tho. I'm saying they come ready to play, and make y'all up in WV earn it. Jus sayin brah!

I love how only certain stats get talked about when you need to make a point. Couple things you are forgetting about the Knox/Central game. It was the second week of the season. The main thing you're forgetting is Central fumbled 7 times and lost 5 of those fumbles, which put Knox in great field position 5 times. Central also had two kids rush for 100 yards that game against the same defense that shutout Corbin last game of the season. There is just absolutely no justification for Corbin being able to match-up against belfry. Obviously, crazier things have happened in the playoffs, but for anyone to try and justify Corbin beating belfry with anything other than a fluke, is absurd.
Since when are turnovers a fluke? Are you saying Belfry has held on to the ball all year? So everytime Belfry turns it over its been a fluke? I see......

If you look at the two Belfry/LC scores then you'll answer your own question.

Lets try this.

Belfry is awesome

Belfry is so much better

Belfry is the best team ever.

I still think Corbin wins.

I gave Belfry all the credit. Still pick Corbin even though Belfry wins.

Make sense?

No. Because its a message board where you sometimes have to pick between Herpes and Hepatitis.
You answer my question 1974, is LC the only game they have fumbled the ball? Is it a Fluke when belfry fumbles?
8 pages almost! 7 of them are about the future leaguers at Belfry and how they can't be stopped...... One condition tho, unless you are a true Blue wV team (cable) and not a hybrid team. 1/2 mountaineer and half cat...
