For some reason Paintsville fans are slowly making me a Pikeville fan.

Pulp Fiction is a Johnson Central fan, one of the biggest actually. Very RARELY does he ever have a good word to say about our little ole school across the creek. Don't judge all of us Paintsville fans because an outsider got on here speaking foolish.

One good season in over a decade and all of a sudden Paintsville is a dynasty. The season that Paintsville is having is special no doubt about that but before anyone starts pounding their chests they have to get it done on the field first. I agree that they should win the region but if anyone thinks the semifinals and state championship will be easy then they are mistaken because everyone who makes it that far is good and is capable of winning a championship.

You have THE BEST player in class 1A in Kash Daniel..... he goes on to UK a Kentucky High School football legend after this season.
You have one of the best running backs in 1A with Phelps
You have one of the best Athletes in 1A with Trimble.

Bracken County will be more like a scrimmage.
The 2nd round game against Williamsburg or South Floyd will be a massacre as well.
The Regional Finals will more than likely be against Paris, they are 10-0 as well, but haven't played nobody. That will not be a close game either.
Pikeville is having 'Trouble in Paradise'..... or so that is what the Grapevine has told me. The State Semi-Finals will be a running clock.

The state finals vs. Beechwood might be a running clock as well. You will go in to the state finals with four EASY wins in the playoffs.
And let's be real..... Beechwood is not the Beechwood of old.

This team might be the first team in Class 1A history to put a running clock on every team they play in the playoffs.

1990 State Baseball Champions.
1996 State Boys Basketball Champions.
2015 Class 1A Football State Champions.

I would say Paintsville will be the only Class 1A school that has won all three major Boys state championships.





And please understand, this is not me trolling against Paintsville.
I will be cheering for Kash next year as a Wildcat when he plays at Commonwealth Stadium.
I know some of the kids on the team, heck, I've watched several of them grow up playing football. A movie could be made about their season.

The ones posting this ego inflating mumbo jumbo are not associated with the Paintsville team or they wouldn't be saying that. Anybody who knows the players or the coaches knows this is not their attitude. One game at a time is what they focus on and it's seeming to work. Let's get past this Friday and then the next and then the next and the next before we talk about a state championship.

Storybook season...yes. This group of Sr's had to play both ways as freshman. Kids like Kash+Trimble are 4 yr 2 way starters. 1st 2 yrs of high school they physically+mentally got beat to death by Sr's. Score run up by some. You don't forget that stuff. It builds mental toughness.
Easy argument can be made Paintsville has the toughest road to championship. 1st rd not bad but it's playoffs. 2nd very well have to try to beat a great program like Raceland a second time. 3rd very well might have to beat a program that was in the championship a few yes ago in Fairview. Once again have to beat a good program twice. On paper it looks like a good shot of a Pikeville/Paintsville Final 4. Only 1A game I can remember this big was going as a kid to see Beechwood at Pikeville in the 80's. Tigers+Panthers good friends in the summer great battles on the field. 70 pt swing last year. OT this year. Both championship talent. Both well coached. Both great small town fan base. That ️game would be epic! Beechwood the favorite until somebody knocks them off. I think both Paintsville+Pikeville both capable.
Too much upper class leadership, coaching leadership+last yr pulling off the upset for Painstville not to take it one game at a time. They are focused. They are capable but no team in the mountains good enough to just show up.
Side note if Paintsville/Pikeville were too play can you guys go on+pull some strings get Chris Stapleton to sing the National Anthem? Thanks🇺🇸

Paintsville fans are not involved in this silliness. Most Paintsville fans are actually quite humble, gracious, and realistic. Some folks in all fan bases like to crow. It's just their nature.

Taking the Back to Back State Runners Up in 1A in Willamsburg to the woodshed....
Beating a Semi-State team from 2A in Shelby Valley like they didn't even show up....

Pulp, you have lost your mind. I agree, Paintsville may put a running clock on the teams mentioned in the first two or three rounds, but it's not happening with Pikeville or Beechwood. IMO, Pikeville outplayed Paintsville during their first matchup, only to turn the ball over at a crucial point in the game. So, how can you honestly sit there and say, that Paintsville will put a running clock on Pikeville. As far as Beechwood goes, Paintsville will be lucky to play within a td of Beechwood, if they make it past Pikeville. Don't get me wrong, I will be pulling for an Eastern Kentucky team, but Beechwood is "another animal". With that being said, Pulp, you may have heard the old saying "Don't count your chickens before their hatched".
