Didn't seem to be a lot of interest but, conservative Bevins won in spite of nasty attack ads and a reportedly faltering and cash strapped campaign effort.

Huge night for the Republicans - didn't expect Edelen to go down.
In other interesting votes...
Bathroom ordinance in Houston defeated 67% - 33%.
This count is unofficial, but around 65% of Ohio residents voted against weed.

Republicans FTW.
The ONE im really disappointed in is AG. All we need is another do nothing Beshear who was obviously elected simply for name recognition. Another 2000 votes and all that would have been left in Frankfort is Allisons empty parking spot.

The Auditor race will be absolutely huge at dismantling Stumbo and his democrats.
Ive never heard Stumbo speak much until tonight, but what a total and complete tool.
Down with the rest of them.

Whew, I know what you mean! I listened to Stumbo's stumbling tirade too, and I can see why he doesn't speak publicly all that often. What he basically said was that it is the Democrat Party which has the moral authority to govern, and that is based solely on their willingness to give away working people's tax dollars to non working people. According to him then, Dems have the inside track on Christianity, not the Republicans. To him, one can dump a load of innocent babies into the garbage disposal on the one hand and still be the Lord's right hand on the other as long as they keep stoking government giveaway programs.
The power of self delusion knows no bounds whatever, and the willingness to double down on failure and the shame of policies gone amok always seems to work. The best analogy is embodied as follows in the famous SNL comedy skit with Jon Lovitz---
Announcer: And now, a message from Pathological Liars Anonymous.
Tommy Flanagan: Hello, my name is Tommy Flanagan, and I'm a member of Pathological Liars Anonymous. In fact.. I'm the president of the organization!
I didn't always lie. No, when I was a kid, I told the truth. But then one day, I got caught stealing money out of my mother's purse. I lied. I told her it was homework - that my teacher told me to do it. And she got fired! Yeah, that's what happened!
After that, lying was easy for me. I lied about my age and joined the army. I was thirteen at the time. Yeah.. I went to Vietnam, and I was injured catching a mortar shell in my teeth. And they made me a three-star general! And then I got a job in journalism, writing for the National Enquire.. er, Geographic! Yeah.. I was making twenty thousand a ye.. month! In fact, I won the Pulitzer Prize that year! Yeah, that's the ticket.
And then my cousin died - Joe Louis - and I took it hard. Maybe too hard - I tried to kill myself. Yeahh.. I did kill myself! Sure! I was medically dead for a week and a half! It was a woman that brought me out of it - Indira Gandhi! Yeah, right.. And she told me about Pathological Liars Anonymous.
Oh, you'd be surprised how many famous people belong. In fact.. at one of the meetings I met my wife - Morgan Fairchild! Yes, I'm a changed man now, and all because of Pathological Liars Anonymous. Why, I - I even have my picture on the cover of Newsweek magazine. Yeah. Every day! Yeah.. that's the ticket! Yeah, you betcha!
And the Dems say, "we're the spiritual ones, yeah.. that's the ticket! And, if you like your insurance you can keep your insurance, yeah, that's right! It's all W's fault anyway, yeah, you betcha, it was his policies that spawned ISIS, that's right! The 10 Trillion dollars added to the debt is his fault! Obama is just like Abe Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, yeah, you know it! :biglmao:

Nice win for the GOP and might be a bit of a precursor to the Presidential election next year in regards to the new conservative revolution. But it was Bevin that won, not Bevins.

Talk about some mad people, last night was a blast watching people have meltdowns on WYMT's facebook post about Bevin winning. Dems are some angry people when they don't get their way nicker: I just think it all started at the last Senate race when the Republican's took control, whether the liberals want to admit it or not, Odumbo has hurt them, and Clinton won't be the answer. I may be wrong but i think this will continue all the way up to the Presidential race. People are tired of having the liberal agenda shoved down their throats, tired of the baby killing, tired of this PC world we are now living in, and finally tired of seeing people being given handouts for being lazy.

It was both amusing and ridiculous listening to Stumbo explain that the Democrats are the party of real Christians. What a fool. It is impossible to claim to be a Christian and to openly support the murder of innocent babies and the abomination of homosexual marriage. You can't "man" those pews every time the church door opens and then vote for and support a party that is amoral.

^^All true. Not only are they mad but they are beginning to wake up to media manipulation through propaganda. Contrary to what we keep hearing, the majority of people do not have liberal views in this country. They are not for gun control, they do not want to pay more and ever more taxes, they do not want ObamaCare, and they know the USA's world standing is in free fall under the guidance of this administration. And you are so right about the handout deal. Part of the spending arrangement of Boehner's final bequeath, is to sell off a large portion of our strategic oil reserves. And where would you think that money is headed? I have had all the 21st Century thinking I can handle.
I predicted that Trump would come under fire from all sides and he is. For example, Rubio has made what I would call a modest move upward among likely voters. This morning I heard a FOX anchor declaring Rubio would be at the number 2 spot behind Carson soon after the next debate. Really? It is a pretty sad state of affairs that the conservative and the lame stream media has shaken hands in an effort to derail Trump's campaign with mockery and insult. The more they do it, the more I like Trump. And he's right, we do need a man of courage to lead us. Not that I ever bought into administration rationale but, we've tried the pajama-boy (with footies) and hot coco route, and it don't work. Putin et-al have laughed us to scorn.
That is why Trump does well in the hearts and minds of Americans whose main claim to fame is not to become superstars of the XBOX and PS zombie count.

I will admit that I'm scared of Trump, but that said, if it's him and Hillary at the end, there's no question as to where my vote will go. Trump very well may be a megalomaniac, but I credit him with bringing sanctuary cities, illegal immigration and veteran affairs to the forefront in this election.
Without him, I seriously doubt that any of these problems would've been referred to or even discussed.

Sometimes it does come down to the lesser of two evils though, on this occasion we're speaking of Hillary versus Trump. As you suggest, it is a no brainer. But for Trump, I would bet the ranch the subjects you mention would not have been discussed at all. And this just goes to show the tremendous level of sway that Dems, whose defining jabs at Republicans are both wrong and self serving, have over the minds and fortunes of the Republican Conference. Unlike every last Republican in the federal government, Trump realizes that we cannot allow Dems to define us any longer, and thus, he laughs them to scorn when they try their schoolyard antics on him.
I don't buy the megalomania angle that the media keep parroting. Granny I understand your intent in using the term and though it may come off that way, I certainly have no intent to try and correct you. Now, somebody like Obama is a megalomaniac, because he claims to be a world leader without having undergone the disciplines necessary to achieve such status. Trump on the other hand, is successful, he bases his claims on those successes and hasn't shied away from writing about his vision and purpose for all to see. The megalomaniac suffers from delusions of grandeur or the like, and that apart from any commensurate level of real world success to back it all up. Again, I give you Mr Obama.
Trump understands money, which in our time is critical, and he has me convinced along the lines of his recently tweaked understanding of conservative values. If I can't have Cruz, I would take Trump without any reservation.

I buy nothing that the media parrots, but Trump buys 1 to 2 hours of TV time each season just so he can sit in front of a camera and say 'You're Fired"! I really think he is a megalomaniac, but it's difficult to tell from here! nicker:

I must admit that I support one specific test for voters. If you don't pay any income taxes whatsoever, you shouldn't get a vote. Only those who pay into footing the bills should vote. Those who live off those tax dollars paid by others should have no vote. Of course, no Democrat would or could ever win an election since their main constituency is made up of those who are the takers..
And, I must point out that Ring"em Up is obviously a product of the government schools. Government schools need to be seriously cleaned up. Too much teaching of "self esteem" and "diversity" and too little teaching of math and proper English.

Oh make no mistake. I think Trump is very impressed with himself but, I believe they all are to varying degrees. It's just that Trump doesn't try to camouflage it with all the usual fake humility. Take Jeb Bush for example, I mean the "happy warrior?" :please: Now there is a rich guy who was raised rich and has a lot of very cool things he could be doing other than this President gig.

Governor Steve Beshear will be out of the Governor's mansion by the 7th of next month, and I can't say that I will miss him. As a matter of fact, there is optimism in the sweet Kentucky air as liberalism must take a back seat to sanity for at least the coming four years.
Governor elect Bevin has already made it clear to the Obama Administration that Kentucky will not be accepting any Syrian refugees. None the less, I wonder if Kentuckians are prepared to grapple with the Beshear legacy.
EXCERPT---
"His (Beshear's having elected to embrace ObamaCare) decision reduced Kentucky's rate of uninsured people from more than 20 percent in 2013 to less than 9 percent this year, the largest drop of any state in the country. But it also meant taxpayers now pay for the health insurance of a quarter of the state's population, placing a strain on the state's finances as it seeks to grapple with a $14 billion unfunded liability in a pension program for public school teachers."
END EXCERPT
http://kentuckytoday.com/stories/recessi...ernor,2196
This demonstrates what I have contended from the outset of the Dem's clandestine midnight push-through of the Bill. ObamaCare is a redistribution scheme set up to force the gainfully employed, the responsible and the motivated, to pay for people who do not or will not work. At any rate, it is clear that the productive and the self reliant of the state's populace will be expected to pay for 25% of the people who live here to have health care. And I hate to pour cold water on the Mr Bevin's celebration but, the federal subsidies meant to kick things off are getting ready to be passed off to the State level. He/we have our hands full.

I understand your level of frustration with career PS4 and Xbox players thinking they should be given stuff. Two things...
First, you have seen for yourself no doubt, the bidding war going on between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, in which both are making outrageous offerings to their hands-stuck-out base. On the rare occasion when they're not trying to out promise each other, they up the ante on their own, LOL. Simply put, Dems are out actively buying votes with your money, your tax dollars. Which to me makes them traitors to American ideals such as self governance. As early as the days of America's inception, founding fathers such as Benjamin Franklin saw the inherent danger of free society. He preached a profound sermon in the following quote, and in so doing, he uses a mere 18 words; 'When the people find that they can vote themselves money that will herald the end of the republic.'
So how is it then that the people may stumble on to the revelation that they can vote themselves money? Again I give you Sanders and Clinton, and frankly to no lesser degree, Barack Obama. By voting for those who promise to give you something, you are selling your vote. And the payment you will receive comes in the form of things like free health care, food stamps, housing and the like, as well as all that free time to pursue things like oil painting according to Nancy Pelosi.
Second, even though I resent the government using my own tax dollars to run these vast vote farms, I believe we who provide those tax dollars should keep speaking the truth. That being that it is in fact, demonstrably immoral for the able bodied to choose welfare subsidies over working. Despite the left's howling protests to the contrary, we Americans do get our sense of right and wrong from the Scripture. Our moral authority to judge people under our laws come directly from God Himself. In fact, our authority to self govern ourselves comes from Him also, as well as all three branches of the federal government, and the individual state governments. And He has written about that very subject extensively in His Holy Word, The Bible. Basing law on anything short of God's Word diminishes one's argument to the point where the best debater wins. That frankly, is the fine mess we find our Congress in right now. Some call it gridlock, some call it partisanship. I believe it is caused by abdicating one's moral ground, and in turning our backs on God we have become justifiably rudderless. I mean, when it comes right down to it, why is my word better than your word right? Apart from the inerrancy of God's own truth, an argument, is an argument, is an argument. Unless you're a liberal that is, in that case you redefine the argument to suit yourself, LOL.
In any case, we ought to vow to ourselves and our loved ones that we will never stop pointing out the truth. whether that be online or in town meeting. I believe we are as Benjamin Franklin clearly warned, witnessing the end of the Republic. Unless the voter awakens and realizes the richness of this blessing of freedom, and votes for men and women of repute, IMHO, it is over.

Beshear is nothing but a product of KY still being under the impression that Democrats were what they used to be when he was elected. Finally, people and even politicians are finally switching parties, to the point where Repubs only need 4 seats to take the house back in KY. Beshear has literally stood for Obama on almost every single policy he has come up with. Every single one.
Blows my mind that people are just now realizing this isn't there daddies democratic party and what they did electing these dems is absurd.

Oh I agree. His wide eyed enthusiasm to fetch bones for Obama has been apparent from the beginning. Democrats were drunk on the kool aid in 2007, when they were bragging nonstop about how the Republican Party was dead and I know you remember all that. The Kim Davis affair served to expose that fact to many who had not quite yet made the hook up. Even though Kentucky law does not make provision for the issuance of gay marriage certificates, the Beshear administration launched out proactively and illegally to force Kentucky Clerks to issue the licenses anyway. And that in spite of the fact that The SCOTUS decision on the matter basically sidestepped the issue, handing discretion back into state hands. Beshear IMO, is a political zombie on the order of Alison Grimes.
And you are so right about the Democrat Party. They have morphed into a wildly liberal/progressive organization which happily puts the interests of self over country daily.

If there is one thing Kim Davis is good for, its the fact that she has pretty much made everyone in the state realize they need to switch parties.
I guarantee you a lot of these back woods democrats didn't know anything about the national policies of dems until it started getting talked about.
The democratic party is dead in this state. It will be a long time for Dems ever peek there head back in this state. This was there final straw. They barely got Grimes reelected and I would almost bet she doesn't get reelected next time.
