Actually guys....I just got home from talking to Lewis Barnette and I said tell me was your foot on the line...He said yes it was barley on the line so I think the shooter should know if it was on the line or not....So the ref did make the right call....but honestly it shoudlnt of even been close...with 5 minutes and 12 seconds to go in the 4th quarter Pburg had a 12 point lead 64 52......with 42 seconds to go the score was Pburg 66 Belfry 64.....so you tell me who lost the game......Belfry started pressing and pburg couldnt do anything.....So thats my story of the game and everyone Matt Maynard isnt as good as everyone puts him out to be....

I Love it when people can post the truth :thumb:. Most just (naturally) want to take up for and make excuses for their team, myself included at times. I try not to, I can usually accept things as they are but sometimes :argue:
I wasn't sure about the last shot without looking at the tape. But that one shot was not the whole game. Was a good close game off and on all night. WOW WHAT A GAME!! OT!! almost doubleOT!!
BUT Belfry had a lead they shouldn't have given up!! Pburg took the lead and they shouldn't have given it up. As some have posted, Some bad calls on BOTH sides soooo

I expect them to win, they are a better team than Belfry, and like Gish said Prestonsburg gave it away.

So, you wouldn't believe a guy, especially a guy from Belfry, if they told you that Belfry played horrible until the last 8 minutes of the game? That is including the 4 minutes of over time.

If you want to get technical about it, both teams had a chance to close out the game but neither did because of poor free throw shooting. Prestonsburg in the 4th frame, Belfry in overtime.

I can speak for Belfry by saying they shot an abnormally bad game from the free throw line, but I haven't seen P'Burg play other than this time so I can't comment on their free throw shooting.

Prestonsburg did give it away... they didn't play nearly as good as I've seen them play before.. and I don't think Maynard looked too great.. because anybody could score if they pushed off every time they drove to the basket

As I said earlier in another post...yes p-burg gave it away, but so did Belfry earlier in the night. And this was not Belfrys best game either.

I just said, it's not like p-burg had this big lead all night and then just give it up in the end.

One cant judge Matt or anyone else for that matter by watching 1 game.

P-burg shot the ball extremely well in their run to go up 12, double pumps, threes, whatever was going in. Bowman and May kept Belfry in the game with May getting fouled EVERY SINGLE TIME HE WENT TO THE RACK, but it wasn't called. You want to talk about pushing off, the big boy who missed the FT's for P-burg does every sinlge time.


Bottom line P-burg is better than most think and if Belfry doesn't go inside to the post more often they are beatable.

You guys kill me...Tonight was a battle..both teams played hard and P Burg had no answer for Belfry's pressure in the 4th quarter..Belfry played on the road last night guys...so it isn't like they have not played all week. Belfry forced somewhere in the neighborhood of 24 turnovers by P Burg..talking about "ifs" ..IF Belfry shoots the ball any at all early in the game they would have had a nice lead...PBurg has a nice team...Leslie is very good...AND it WAS a TWO....AND..if it WAS a three it would just have tied the game...not won it...Maynard pushing off all night??? You must have watched a different game than I did..

We were at the Belfry gym where the girls were having senior night!!! LC was a make up game. This belongs in the LC thread. BTW congrats

As for B-ball both teams should be fine, they just need some rest and they should cruise into the regional's. But this is where it end's for both teams in the first round of regions. A couple of Belfry player's really have a bad attitude IMO.

This was an exciting game to watch...and yeah it was pretty sloppy both sides of the ball most of the game. I will admit that I really didnt think that Belfry was gonna be able to pull it off at the end but Belfry did what they needed to do to win the game--made their free throws and strong defense. BUT they should have been playing with that same intensity the whole game . CONGRATS PIRATES...rest and get ready for next week.irate04:

Your right, P'burg had scratched him from their games this season after the 1st Betsy Layne game. Everyone wanted to know what he was doing calling the game last night. I hope he's just a terrible ref and doesn't make bad calls on purpose to get back at a coach or team.

I think it is hillarious you all see Maynard an Case play one time an say they are not as good as everyone says they are. Maynard scores 27 on you all an Case score 17, so what does that say about Prestonsburg??? That you all are not as good as you put on... You all can say Prestonburg is better than Belfry all you want, the bottom line is Belfry got the W and you all got the L, the better team won last night...
