pcc has taken the crown away from breathitt county for being known as a team that likes to fight. looked at film, lc player had his hands up and pcc player was throwing haymakers.

Judging by the last 2 games it really seems like PC players could care less about winning the game or playing as a team and pretty much just want to fight people out of frustration. That shows a serious lack of respect for teammates and their coaches. Knowing you just lost 4 players the game before for fighting and then come out very early in a district game and start throwing punches because you got pancaked. Maybe there were things leading to that earlier that boiled over but all I seen was the kid got blocked and then got up and started swinging on a player that had his back turned. No way for people in the stands to hear every word that is said on the field between the players but I am sure the PCC coaches probably put an emphasis on keeping your cool before this game. To me that just shows a complete disrespect to your program to come out and do the things they have been doing. This should have and could have been a more competitive game had PC had all of their players. On the other hand, I want to say great job to the coaching staff at LC and to the team. I liked how they spread the ball around in the passing game and didn't just throw it deep into double and triple coverage. Besides a few bs blocking in the back penalties I thought the team executed pretty well.

You're right, he did have his hands up. But once he realized he was getting punched, he did retaliate and connect with a punch of his own.

Also, Robert Dalton although he was not ejected...he snuck in a punch as well.

Either way...its inexcusable. I'd like to apologize on behalf on the Pike County Central fan base for our actions the past couple of weeks.

Congratulations to Lawrence County on your win.

i believe the lc player will be reinstated. good film evidence of him trying to avoid a fight until he had to defend himself.

Now i will say this we had 1 player threw out for no reason,an he didnt get round the fight cause he took his helmet off when walking of the field
#14
Im going to post some this to say is i didnt think this team would be this way idc if i hurt anybodys fillings but i figured even for a younger bunch we would wanna play hard and play together we have no leadership at this point on the field, yes i know we got a bunch out for fighting an injurys but still got excuse for the behavior, these kids are going to have to understand if somebody runs there mouth walk off an use your padd instead of your fist play as a team not ufc fighters this season has been bad,but next year will be a different story, just learn from your mistakes an move on finish season out and get ready for next year these kids need a leader come hawks do better we surpost your no matter what.

I did wonder who the 2nd ejection was. I just seen the one kid throwing several punches. Hopefully that kid can get reinstated because they will need everyone for Belfry.

I don't understand why the refs didn't jump in and stop it Luke took 4 or 5 steps way didn't fight back till he not hit down low then he fought him off to protect him self then his team fought to protect him proud of our boys
#17

I believe there does come a point in time where there should be a difference in retaliating and protecting yourself. LC player stood there and took several punches without doing anything but when the other player just continues to swing away on you it forces you to do something to get them off of ya and then you get ejected?
#19
Talk to Luke he said I was not going to fight back said but when he hit me between the legs he said I had to fight him off I think refs could have help him they stood there and watch

You wanna talk class. LC really showed some. You should have been sitting near the front of the bleachers to see and hear the big bottom bovine mamma brigade hanging over the rail. A vocabulary second to none, parents holding their hands over their kids ears to avoid the four letter words flying.

I do not condone the fighting and it is unfortunate that things like this happen, it's kids.

But for an adult to use language in a crowd like they did showed no class, but just their A$$.

Rewind bud and see how many one of your own threw. I guess the fact that It was dark made a difference.

He slammed his helmet on the ground and yelled out an expletive word.

I seen her wasn't the cop standing there with them ???
#26
Watched some film Shawn hall the white hat refs stood and watched while your brother Mike hall run up to stop the fighting good Mike Shawn you drop the ball on the fight other them that you guys did a good job
#27
As long as the people in charge celebrate the fighting it will continue. Now lc has a valuable player ejected, and could have easily had a couple more. This goes among several sports at pcc, the principal and AD need step up and show some leadership. Its hard for a team to compete in 3a whitout 6 of your players and your team takes beat downs week after week your numbers will drop and your better players will up at belfry or pikeville. Pccc has had two good of a program for this to happening.

The big question is why does the school's administration continue allowing these kids to suit up and play when all they want to do is fight? Last year in basketball and baseball. If you remember, the same kid that sucker punched the LC baseball player was the same kid that undercut Timmy Dalton in the district final basketball game. Then we have the football fights. Where I'm from and how I was raised, the person in charge has to take responsibility at one point. Someone needs to be held accountable. Either the coach or the players. They should rely on the KHSAA to make their suspensions like they did last year. The school should step in and say "you're done" to the players who fight.

Provoked or not, words are words. When you are on the field of play and begin throwing fists, you crossed the line. Words and "talking" are going to happen in every sport.

Coaches and administration need to step up and send the message that this behavior is unacceptable.

I like Thacker, but it sounds like, for whatever reason, he's slowly losing his team. I hope they get things turned around.

To break some of the JPC habits, they will have to make the decision to step up and send a message by making some hard decisions about some of their players. But if they're serious about wanting the program to grow and be respected, those are decisions they need to make now. A hard line being drawn will show parents and players alike that they are serious and maybe the culture will change.
