Knox has the better team.. Wayne has the better coaching staff, so with that said, I'm taking the Panthers.... Much better talent and size than Wayne...

Cards proved they could win throwing the football, which may come in handy this week. I like the Cardinals at home in a tight one 21-14.

Wayne County 35-0

Think we will see how that early tough schedule pays off this week for the panthers.

Kind of amazing where these teams were 15 years ago and looking at their current success now. Knox won their first district in nearly 40 years last year and Wayne was state runner-up in 2013 and won their first district that year as well. The Panthers have played a tremendous schedule and with so many starters back from last year, should be a favorite, while Wayne County isn't bad, but looks to a lot of underclassmen to make plays. This could very possibly be a regional championship preview, so while this one is important, neither team's season will be made with a win. Experience says Knox Central, heart says Wayne County............Vegas says Pick'em!

If it is another rain soaked game I like the panthers chances real good. Nothing is better than a power run offense in the ran.

Experience says Knox Central, heart says Wayne County............Vegas says Pick'em!I'm curious to know what turned Wayne around? For us that answer is simple - Youth Football. Once we got a youth program in Knox (thank you David King and Steve Bailey) our program improved dramatically. Wayne Mills was part of the turn around but he would have kept posting losses had he not inherited talent that in many cases started playing football in K-2 program.
Now, when a kid (even very athletic) comes out as a highschooler that did not play in youth league they rarely win playing time as they are competing with kids who have 8-10 seasons under their belt. Any similarity in Wayne?

I think it was several factors at Wayne County starting with continuity with the head coach and his system along with his personal commitment to the program. I think we upgraded at the middle school level four years ago and what's being done there certainly is a positive factor in the process and this group of upperclassmen were also exposed to a lot of different levels of competition at the youth level. I think much like in games it's been all three phases working together, plus several really good athletes have made the decision to play football that didn't for whatever reason in years past. It starts with the head coach and some loyal members of his coaching staff, but I think the community as a whole is just more accepting of football now, which no matter the sport everyone loves a winner.

As slow as Knox is I hope they have boarded the bus by now so they can assure themselves enough time to make it to Wayne Co. by fridays kickoff.

I agree with everybody except for jim rome.
There are just way too many factors to even think about without causing a headache. Either team winning won't surprise me, and I don't believe more than one score will make the difference.
Knox Central 35
Wayne Co 32
Good luck to both teams!

Thank you for your comment, maybe together we can get something done. I apologize for my comment, it was a joke. I was just trying to get your blood pressure up. I was at the KC South Western game and they have a very solid team.:trolldad2:
