Very quick 4th quarter. Nice job SK. Highlands took a 3-0 lead early then the Neers exploded. 6 interceptions for the SK defense.

Damn.

Highlands looked good early on and even scored first. SK is decent, I'll give them that. Officiating was horrible - three of those interceptions were because of pass interference.

I want to hit like for all of this. On repeat.

Officiating, it was awful - we were winning early.

42-3 is a running clock. Highlands has not seen many of these against them.

Ok...I'm not going to kick this dog (bird) while it's down, but I've gotta admit I detect the whiff of a warm fuzzy when I see this score.

I watched this who game on live stream.
To be honest, I thought it could have been much worse. It really makes me wonder.
So many on here are getting there kicks of Highlands getting the snot beat out of them, but make no mistake, they would still beat a bunch of teams in this state. Simon Kenton just absolutely man handled the line in this one and it didn't look fair.
Congrats SK. Keep winning...

They are this year. Just not a good team. Lacking athletes at all positions

Wow what has happened to Highlands? Are they missing Muller ( spelling? ) that bad?

Would love to hear mantax's take on the game but I guess he and the rest of the birdy faithful are in mourning. Or possible scouting young talent....

Congrats to the Neers on the W!
The SK O-line and Dillon Powell continue to impress. I'd like to think Powell will get a few Div 2, small FCS offers sooner rather than later. He is building a nice resume!
Looking forward to the SK-Ryle I game down the road....and anticipating a Ryle-SK II later in the playoffs.

Nice observations. If Cooper gets healthy think they could contend with Ryle. 6A is definitely king in NKY this year and the rematches in the playoffs will be interesting. Hard to beat a good team twice in the same season.

No, even Dale couldn't have made this team a winner. They have several nice players, but not enough to contend with this kind of schedule. If I could see this coming, I'm sure the coaches saw it, and part of me thinks that Dale left when he did to allow Weinrich to get started on what they knew would be a rebuilding process. They'll take their lumps now, but don't count them out in the future. And districts start after the bye, which is all that really matters. If they lose to Grant or Dixie, then I'll be concerned. (Especially since Dixie is the weekend of my class reunion.:trolldad2

One thing I do hate seeing in highlands losing is the falling off the all time wins in the country. I think you guys were only about 10-15 behind Valdosta and there not world beaters anymore. I figured another 5 years and Highlands would have caught them.

is this the last year of H.S. football? Highlands is now 99-1 with winning seasons.... boo hoo. im still kinda high from all championships and rings. Did everyone think that H could be boss every year? cant happen... Im really surprised the birds haven't really had a bad year before this. Really it shows how great that 100 year run really was. we are humans in Fort Thomas after all.
Its funny that all the kids on this 1-5 H team have 2 more rings than the entire program history of SK.

Define an 'athlete' for me then will you? You keep saying this and I find it absolutely hysterical. They have enough 'athletes' if they would decide to play them on both sides of the ball and quit trying to play kids that are nowhere close to being varsity ready. An athlete does not have to run cross country or track. You can evaluate kids there, but leave the football analysis to those that at least know what they are talking about.
Highlands came to play in this game and it simply blew up with 3 picks inside the 25 yard line and another in the end zone. Been a big big problem all year and will be interested to see if it finally gets addressed during the bye week. Continuing to put the same kids out on the field is going to provide the same results that have occurred early on this year.
Time is now to take your best 15-25 players and they do everything from special teams, to defense and to offense. One of best 5 offensive lineman is probably playing 3rd string QB and another is playing only on the defensive line. Two of the best defensive lineman are only taking snaps on the offensive side of the ball. You have 9 receivers and cannot get the ball to them, so you move them to defense at OLB/DE, corner and safety and instantly make yourself better.
