Both teams played in the same conditions, Danville just handled it a lot better, although they created very little offense either. Corbin obviously worked on it prior to this week's game and did not lay it on the field any. If they would have, Southwestern would have beaten them badly.

It was played at Corbin in the rain.
If the Hounds had 9 fumbles, they only lost 2 and had one interception.

Ads held the bigger, stronger Corbin Hounds to 35 yards rushing for the game on a field that should have favored them.
Everything from size and weather factored the opportunity for Corbin to win and they couldn't run the ball at all. Danville's speed and pass attack was negated by the weather and still they managed to hang 20 on them.
Like I said, if it makes the Hounds sleep better, by all means, excuse away.

I'm not a Corbin fan, so I am not making excuses for Corbin. I'm actually making excuses for Danville not scoring 48 points. The comment made was to the tune that Corbin was an extremely tough place to play, and you said funny Danville did it to the tune of 20-0. My point is that if a team has 9 fumbles in a game (plus an interception that I'm aware of now) the score should have been a lot worse. Thus playing at Corbin is an extremely tough place to play and you will be lucky to come away with a win, no matter what the outcome of the score is.

no excuse just the facts.
5 lost fumbles and 1 int. 10 fumbles total only lost 5. QB had butterfingers. cant think of a single team that can give up 6 TO's and win.

From my observation, the center to Qb snap exchange was not as smooth as one would think it needs to be. Several times I noticed Sizemore, having to leap to make the snag, while in the shotgun or pistol formation. Also when pressured on a couple of plays he carried the ball low and away from his body when scrambling. It didn't hurt him against us, but would think it could maybe in the future, if pressure from behind is unseen.

Corbin is not a good running team against a good defense at this time, which showed in each of the last 2 weeks. They threw for around 175 yards against Southwestern and only ran for 50 or so. They ran for 75 yards in the Danville game and only threw for about 40.
The field conditions hurt both teams, and I don't buy the theory that it hurt one more than the other.
I have not seen where any Corbin fans have been making any excuses anyway...

Corbin had 3 turnovers, only lost 2 of the 9 fumbles and had 1 INT. He may be counting when Corbin snapped it over the QB's head on 4th down once or twice, which really wasn't a turnover.

That's a far cry from five fumbles lost that the other poster mentioned.
