Prestonsburg 0-2 against 1A schools, lol.
Totally time for a change over there. But we all know that would mean... head coach, assistant coach, principal, A.D. and Superintendent, or none. It's a package sham in Prestonsburg these days.

It was 34-19.. The reason I left.
The officials tryed to give this one to P-burg.. But great effort by Hazard for holding on and P-burg for there never quit attitude.

^ I normally don't complain about it but it was too obvious.

Always a shame when officiating, or the lack thereof, impacts the game in any way other than being fair and competent.

Sounded like a barn burner.
Congrats Hazard.

Congrats Hazard on the win.
Way to never give up and keep on fighting Blackcats!! Great to see you guys never give up!!!
The scoreboard may have shown a loss, but in my book this was a win.

They have Shelby Valley at home next week. Might be the first time the Blackcats lose consecutive games in awhile

I left after the pick 6. After that I'm not sure how things went expect Hazard was lucky to hold on. But before that it was a little too obvious. But I agree its still a win for them even though it shows an L on the side.

Radio said Pburg had a near 40 yard carry for a touchdown brought back in the 2nd half. That would conflict home cooking allegations. Sounded like a lot of excitement late in this one.

Chop block directly in front of the official. So he had to call it. Its what sprung the big gain.

Wow, Hazard wins another close one!
Congrats, Bulldogs.

Hazard is getting their season on track. Very good win.

^ They are starting to adjust without the other players. October 2nd should be a battle.

Good win for Hazard. Played a little to loose prevent late in the game and could not field on side kick is what got Pburg back in game, not refs.

Congrats Blue !!! Gotta Love Them Dawgs !!

Should be a war next Friday night. Shelby Valley is looking to be healthy and Prestinsburg is getting better every week. May be another classic.

Actually, it was 21-19 and P-burg with the ball with 4 mins left...lol. After a Hazard INT return and score is when you're talking.
This one was a good, close ballgame. Both teams will benefit from this one down the road...

Well no, he didn't "have" to call it. lol...
And... an argument can be made (and was by Coach D) the block was legal. Blocking below the waist is allowed inside the box. The question had to do with where the blocker was lined up at the snap. TE's can usually block low, but the official said the TE was lined up split off the line (which made the block illegal).
The spear, otoh, was an EASY call as the Bulldog defender put his head down and ran into a wrapped up ball carrier. The same can be said with the poor language used by a tackled Bulldog runner earlier. The KHSAA allows officials to give NO leeway whatsoever in calling those penalties.
Now I agree officials can be a little touchy on calling personal fouls on sideline tackles. Very difficult for a defender to know exactly where he is when he's zoned in on the ball carrier. But that's seen in excess everywhere.

Really ? Pikeville and Hazard aren't exactly the typical "also ran" type "1A schools". They both have a deep history of winning football and your using losses to them as examples of why a "change" is needed at Prestonsburg may be the weakest argument I've heard on this website (and pretty danged disrespectful of Pikeville and Hazard football, to boot). LOL...if CLASS of opponent is what matters to you, keep in mind P-burg's two wins came against 3A opponents !!
What is your REAL reason for claiming Prestonsburg needs a new coach ? Personally, I see NO REASON to throw P-burg football into limbo for the next 3-5 years in the HOPE a new coach would somehow improve Blackcat football.
Got to keep in mind the grass is usually NOT greener over the fence...it only -seems- that way.

Have them dawgs quit playing any defense over there in Hazard. Sounds like that is where this team is missing their chances of being good again.
09-22-2015, 05:36 PM
55 the Bulldog defense is coming around. The defense has lost 6 starters in the defensive backfield/linebacker since the start of the season. Our run defense has been good. We have faced some of the better backs in our part of the state and held them in check. Williams from Letcher; Doan from Somerset; Frasure from Prestonsburg. Our pass defense has struggled from just losing players to injury. 4 of the 6 have had surgery and only 1 will return to play this season. B. Whitaker is arguably our best defensive player out for the year. Lost another player to a bad ankle sprain last week.
Despite all this adversity, we are 4-1 and improving every week. Could not be more proud of this group of players. Our kids just go out and play and do their best.
