Belfry 28 Newport Central Catholic 10
#31
Go back and look folks. MANY teams come play at Belfry. Few to none complain about the kind of crybaby bs that the couple NCC fans did. Plain and simple, they got beat physically and didn't like it. 22 yards and ZERO first downs while you watch the opponent score 21 unanswered would make any kid frustrated.

I know what my dad would have said after the game - get tougher or take your whipping! Beat the man beating your butt!

If the refs let to much extra curricular go on, then they should have shaped it up. But I haven't heard anyone say that the ZERO!!!! first downs in the second half were because the refs.

Take the loss. Move on. You have a nice team NCC. Don't cry - regroup and win 2A.

I wasn't there, but it sounds like a lot of he said, she said things went on last night. Time to move on.

Well bart, no disrespect to your team or fans, but I was there. So it is more of a one sided she said. Because what I say is the truth. If Belfry acted up I would be the first to call them out on it. I agree it is time to move on, but please as a losing fan don't try to make your opponent look bad because you lost. Last year when pikeville beat Belfry almost all Belfry fans gave praise to pikeville. At least I know I did and I sure didn't whin over things and accuse pikeville of stuff that didn't happen.

Desales may very well handle Mayfield. Id say Desales would get a running clock.

I have heard the same comments on my end, so again it seems it is all in your perspective.

Notice not one post by a NCC fan trying to offer an objective breakdown on the game. Shucks, say "refs hurt us" and "blah blah blah" but then at least talk about the actual play on the field. Mention where NCC looked good, where Belfry played well, and what might have turned the tide in the game.

Nah - Belfry's fans said mean things. What a joke.
#39
The game is over, let's move on. The refs didn't cost NCC the game, however they did let the game get out of hand. I'd say NCC owned the first half of the game and the 2nd half was all Belfry. Congrats on the win. So let's move on. Good luck to both team down the road.

Boyle will only see Belfry if they come to watch them play another team this year. Lexington Catholic will knock them out before they make it that far. It will be Lexington Catholic and Belfry in the State Championship.

No it will be Boyle County, and Belfry. Belfry will get smacked in the title game. I think all 6 classes have a heavy favorite at this point could change.
1a Beechwood
2a Desales
3a Boyle County
4a South Warren
5a Pulaski County
6a Male

Given the history of both programs, a situation like this doesn't surprise me. Wonder which one is telling the truth. Confusednicker:

You're just full of all kinds of predictions huh? Can you be a sport tell me what next weeks winning lottery numbers are?

Boyle has played no one to prove they are that far ahead of anybody. Don't say central Hardin. They lost a lot from last year. But are a mediocre 6A team this year. Yes we haven't played anyone that great. Yes NCC is decent but they lost a last year. Boyle won't make it to the finals. If they get past Lexington Cath. Then Louisville Central will beat them.

I think a lot of people want to hand the trophy over to the Rebels, but we all know that a lot of football has to be played and a lot of things can happen. I expect a good battle between the likes of Belfry and Lawrence County and Russell and Corbin with Belfry the definite favorite and likewise between Boyle and Lex Cath and Caldwell and Central and who knows which PT team may show up on a Friday night.

I'm from Harlan County bart88, and I wasn't at the game nor do I have a dog in this fight. BUT, I can say with all sincerity that Crossbones is probably the most objective and truthful Belfry fan that exists. If he tells you something, you can believe it without hesitation.

No offense but south warren will not win 4A. They wasn't good enough win 3A. 3A state champs? Belfry. Who JC has took to the shed the past few years. Just curious as to what makes you think South Warren has a prayer against JC?

IMO which means nothing, I think Boyle is the best in 3a this year. Maybe im reading to much into it, but I think South Warren is alittle better than Boyle. Meaning I believe they are plenty good enough to win 3a this year. I know 4a will be tough with Johnson Central, but I think its a tossup. I do agree about last year. South Warren wasn't good enough for a team like Johnson Central. I actually think your 3a, and 4a title games will be the best 2 this year and are a push. But you cant be a troll and be nice so I say Boyle waxes Belfry, and South Warren beats down Johnson Central. Its actually a shame Highlands, moved up cause Johnson Central would likely have beat them. Its another subject, but im not a fan of playing up or down, I think everyone should play where there enrollment says they should no exceptions.

I guess we're all entitled to our own opinions lol. I was just wondering if you'd enlighten us as to why you think Sw would beat down JC?

Mainly looking at the ease they beat Central Hardin. Boyle is for real, and South Warren handled Central Hardin much easier. Of course comparing scores doesn't always work out. The Mayfield/McCracken/Tilghman series this year proves that, but what else do we have to go by.

I guess I'm the only one that saw Louisville central beat saint x? If we're going to compare teams could Boyle beat them as well? Just saying

Good point. Central had slipped my mind. Best to not count them out. That St X score makes me scratch my head. St X took Bowling Green to the woodshed.

Central will have a say before it is all over. History is definitely on their side. Here is what I would like to know. Has anyone got a good feel on how good Caldwell County or Etown is?

We will know more about Caldwell after the Tilghman Game on the 25th. They also play Mayfield on Oct 30th. They seem to be good, and blew the game in there only loss to Christian County. Them, Etown, and Tilghman I would guess are in the same ballpark. I would say those 3 teams are in the 5-8 mark. 2nd tier teams could beat anyone in 3a if the stars aligned, but if the Boyles, Belfry's, and Centrals don't make the mistake of overlooking them I don't see them as a big threat.

Belfry is my favorite to troll. Almost kinda like them. You wont like me if Pikeville beats yall. Ill ride Belfry like the pony express if that happens.

The blocking out of bounds is legal. You block till you hear a whistle. Don't cry cause your boys got took to the woodshed. It ain't the first Cole tried taking a kid to the bus. The block started in the middle of the field and he took him out of bounds. If I knew how to post a video on here I have it. Message me on how to put it on and I will. Take the whipping and go on to next week.

It's about time he showed up to play. Been waiting all season to see if the double digit D1 offers and that 4.9 40 speed was true. Jury still out on those though Confusednicker:

Guess you haven't been watching the games. He was moved from D tackle to nose guard. I think 9 tackles against Tates Creek was a good start to the season at Nose Guard. Only played half the game at Harlan Co. Stuffed the middle really good against New Port. Got his hands on a couple of passes and played hard.

bucslover68 Wrote:They did the second half... 22 total yards for NCC and ZERO first downs after the break....Belfry dominant on both sides of the ball.

After closer inspection I heard it was actually 12 yards on 12 plays forgetting a tipped pass to the QB while tallying up stats! Great 2nd half performance by the Pirates none the less!
