I've said it before and will again. Great game. Congrats to Paintsville. This was one that will be debated the entire season like the Pikeville victory over Belfry last year. In the end, it's a regular season game though, and not a season ender. To all the Panthers, great job, learn from it, and move on. To the fans, this site is great for jabbing, keep it up. But let's also remember these are kids, keep the personal jabs amongst us members and leave the personal stuff off the kids. To some of y'all, we'll see again at the end of the season when it counts. I got faith in these boys. I know how hard they've worked, I've seen the results of their work since last year. They will be fine.

Kash did a great job on both sides but I will say this, he has some very good teammates! Trimble is very solid, the RB and the backup RB are very good plus both lines are big and physical. Pikeville will be there in the end but Paintsville has Raceland watching closely. Good luck to both teams

I agree. So many times it has been said "when this rivslry used to be something spcial" or "im so glad this gsme is relevant again"... Seems that its a bit cheapened by alot of this crap on here.

I woke up sore from just watching this game last night !!! Great ,hard hitting football game with paintsville coming out on top of a game that could have went either way! Pikeville fan and you will hear no excuses from me ,ever!!!! Kash is the real deal! To me phelps is as good ,just doesn't have Daniels size!! No one is giving any credit to # 34 from paintsville !!! I think that was his# this kid ran hard and was just as effective as anyone paintsville had. I heard some young boys say he was from flat gap !! Give this Kid some love!!!! Great player!!! Pikeville Has way to many weapons to play like they did !! Panthers better work on there passing game if they want to meet this team again !!! Pugh can't take that much of a beating and make it through his senior season . Great game and good luck to both teams . Hope to get to see this game played again !!!!

I have no idea how anyone that watched the game could say anything negative about either team. Yes, Pikeville had a game changing turnover but those boys played hard and left it on the field. Kudos to both teams for one of the best high school games I've had the privilege of watching.

Now I think you'd have to be a little stupid to say Pikeville didn't piss this game away twice. And also, I'm sure all of you all can find the replay of kash's run on the OT conversion, 2 pikeville players ran up and tried to play patty cake with him on the 3 yard line. Went up to him and just grabbed him, didn't try to lay any type of lick. #10 was one and I couldn't tell the other one. But one things forsure, those players would never see the field on my defense again. Just a complete embarrassment. Who knows, if those players wouldn't have been so terrified and actually hit him in the legs, he might've went down. But just an embarrasment by the pikeville Defense that play. I honestly thought they were meaner than that.

The fact that someone made a comment that Kash Daniel was not a d1 caliber player after watching that game last night still amazes me. Yes I am A Pikeville fan but Kash Daniel was clearly head and shoulders above anyone else on the field last night. He is a special talent and I'm glad that he will be playing his college ball in Lexington. Kudos to the Paintsville coaching staff and the entire community, a couple years ago Paintsville football was an afterthought but they have turned it around big time. These two teams are about as evenly matched as any two teams I have seen in a long time. Hopefully we get to see part 2 in a couple of months with a runner-up to Beechwood on the line...Until then good luck to both teams!!

What is this? Middle school lol. They should feel bad, Id feel horrible. If you ever played high school ball and had any balls about you whatsoever YOU KNOW that you do every possible thing you can do to keep the other player out of the end zone. Especially in a game like that! It wasn't mistakes on that play. Pikevilles Dline blew that play up. He scored on the whole team on his own. Kash is a train, never said he wasn't, you can act like that if you want to make your case sound better or whatever but me or no one else is buying it. This is big boy football. When I played, you didn't shy away. You keep the other team from scoring at all costs. I don't care if it's JJ Watt taking the handoff. YOU NEVER BACK DOWN. And you could say it was called heart because indeed it was, an amazing play by the young man. But you can also say it was a very bad case of arm tackling & "please don't run over me". He was hit a hell of a lot more than 3 times. He drug the whole damn team to the endzone. Man up Pikevilke. Coach Mac can not be happy at all with arm tacking Kash Daniel in OT cause you don't want ran over.

If Kash Daniel single handily beat Pikeville as many have stated, it doesn't say much for either team. I look for Beechwood to have there way with the eastern representative wheter it be Pikeville, Paintsville, or Raceland. Beechwood by at least 20 in the title game.

Beechwood is obviously the favorite in single a but painsville and pikeville r tough. I thought that pikeville would win this game and that Daniel couldn't pull it out by himself. I knew phelps was a threat but he didn't play the whole game, Pugh wasn't 100% neither was Daniel but both played their hardest. I thought we tried to pound the tiger D with Pugh too much, I'm not against the run game but Pugh was hit hard every play going both ways as well as Daniel. Pikeville is my team but I respect paintsville. I didn't think they could do it but they did. Daniel is a great player and I'm a fan of him he really did win this game. I said he was paintsvilles only player, I was wrong even after phelps got hurt later in the game 34 idk his name he came in and he was small but did damage he got some momentum going for painsville and let's not forget that catch from a freshman a good pass by Daniel and good catch by Allen. Both teams made mistakes but paintsville made the least. I respect both teams and I believe that they will see each other again. The fact Is the Tigers won fair and square Idc who was hurt or who wasn't paintsville pulled it out congratulations to the Tigers

Great hard nosed football game! Hate the overtime rules ... Big advantage to the team that plays defense 1st . But Pikeville had the chance to stop Kash from getting in . Just didn't happen. Hard to say anyone was a loser in this game . I would have like to see Pikeville mix It up a little more and keep em guessing but I am smart enough to know that without a few fumbles, (that u gotta give Paintsville credit for getting! ) that I wouldn't even be thinking about the play calls and game plan . With out those turn over we are all saying good solid game plan to get the w . Lol. That's just how it is. Hats off to both squads! Time to move onto the next one.

I agree...Pikeville and Paintsville are both very good 1A teams(and I assume Raceland is also)and as much as I would love to see either P-ville bring a title home to the mountains reality tells me Beechwood would beat either team by a couple touchdowns. I really hope I'm wrong though.

This game lived up to the hype and then some.

The stars showed up big time last night. Kash with a huge game on defense and 2 TD passes on offense. Not to mention picking up hard yards running the ball(especially in OT). Pugh was his usual workhorse self last night despite appearing to not be 100%. 163 hard yards on 35 carries and three TD's.

Tough, physical running. A big pass play. Big hitting. Drama. Tension. Overtime. This game had a little bit of everything.

Whale of a game! Would love to see these two again in November.
