Tates Creek at Belfry
#1
The Tates Creek Commodores (0-1) make the long journey up the Mountain Parkway to battle the defending Class 3A State Champion Belfry Pirates (0-0) in the Pike County Bowl at Cam Stadium.

Belfry should be able to name the score in this one.

Belfry vs. Bryan Station would be a good game.

Well, last year I picked Henry Clay. I won't make that mistake this year. I'll take Belfry by 3 touchdowns+.
#14
Belfry could name the score in this game if they wanted to really bare down and try, but coach Haywood is way to classy for that and he is always tweaking with things and never pays much attention to the score. It's all about that W and all business for this man and getting the kids ready for post season.

Right now I really do not know how to handicap this score.. I do expect Belfry to win.

If Belfry solves their issues on Offense and hang on to the ball
42-6

If those issues persist:
27-20

What I do know is Tates Creek will have issues maintaining drives against this Belfry Defense. I fear though that Belfry may lay it on the ground and give away primo field position. If the Pirates hold on to the ball I see them hurting Tates Creek all night and wearing them down physically.

Im with ya pal. Our system is built for long offensive drives and a lights out defense. Once our offence get its timing and gets executing well then I will be way less stressed. Lol

I haven't got to see Belfry this year, but based on what I know they have returning there Defense should be absolutely lights out and there offense should be stocked with playmakers. The timing from QB to fullback will work out. It's the line issue EKU keeps talking about that has everyone worried.
Even with that one issue Belfry rolls Friday night.

Belfry by 12.

Surely Belfry will beat Tates Creek easily. They are usually weak. I'm pulling for Belfry Confusednicker:

By the way very sorry to hear about the injury to Kenndale Briggs.

He was going to have a breakout year. Hate to hear about his injury and having to miss the entire season.

I am hoping some college saw all they needed and offer him.. think he has all the tools to be a very good CB at the next level.

Biggest question you have to be answered, or partially answered Friday night?

Mine is the middle linebacker play. I think we have very capable middle linebackers. We have just gotten use to stellar play over the past years and I think Sanger and Wellman or others will step up.

Who becomes Belfry's primary offensive threat. No doubt it will be backfield by committee... but when it is 3rd and 4 who does Haywood trust to get that 4 yards.
#26
Belfry 35 to 7
#27
I think Corbett might run a lot more than previous QB's.
#28
I love these kids and this program but at this time, I don't think we are very good. I see us winning by about 14, I don't know how good (or bad) Tates Creek is though.
#29
TC is not to be taken lightly. Belfry wins this one comfortably by 2+ scores!
