So what's the deal with Riley Hall?

Why is there essentially no buzz around him as a College Prospect?

I asked this in another thread and noone answered...seems like he would be an ideal fit for a smaller FCS school.

I honestly did not know this until I watched some of the WKYT previews but High School legend and former UK player Dennis Johnson is the HC at Woodford County.

National Defensive POY in '97, right? It's hard to believe that for all their talent, Harrodsburg never won a title. 0 for 3 in title games, I believe. Lost to Pikeville in '88 and Beechwood in '96 & '97. Wrong place, wrong time to run into those dynasties.

With all that talent on the OL, Woodford must be completely devoid of it elsewhere. No one seems to expect much from them this year.

Perhaps his size, arm strength? I think he will be more of an DII, DIII, NAIA type QB, but not an FBS or FCS.

No. The best line is at Raceland. Just ask them or read the threads, if you have a few days to spare.

I thought the list was pretty solid, too.

The size of that Woodford line is impressive, and Jackson is without a doubt the best individual lineman in the state. Lafayette also has an impressive line.

With that being said, I'd put Belfry's oline up against anyone's this year.

Mainly because they are in rural EKY and is almost entirely comprised of Juniors

Looks like the other guard could be Kalob Whitt. 6'0 310 He is catching on quick... My observation of these Hawgs is: Dotson is 6'6 270. Gibbs 6'3 280. Preece 6'0 240. Bentley 6'6 310ish. Scott is about the same. Only thing different is they all got great footwork and quickness!!! I could be off with some of the weight but I'm pretty darn close.

You are off on height, maybe weights are close. But no way you all have 3 guys 6'6". 6'3 or even 6'4 I can see. If they are that tall and that quick of foot, the basketball coach would be the next big thing over there if he could coach and recruit them to play. Lol. I get your enthusiasm, I do. Outstanding line, but there's no way that much height. The weight is very easy to see though, from the weightlifting program over there, it wouldn't surprise me the least.

Has Bentley made the switch to gaurd or tackle? Just based on what I saw of him last year, he's got the look of an FBS caliber offensive lineman.

Been a hot topic on Pond Creek but as of right now he is still at TE... or as I like to call it n Haywood's offense.... The Bonus Tackle.

Lots of buzz about moving him to the vacant guard spot but nothing has ever materialized.

I am starting to wonder how much of that is because of Corbett at QB?

Corbett is a freak athlete and Belfry's best big play threat on offense. He is lethal coming off he edge and I wonder if Haywood just simply likes the idea of having Cole on that edge paving the path for him.

We understand that. Really. Also we know that we just have what is published to go on. For example, Scout has Bentley listed as 6' 3.5 inches and he was just at several camps over the summer. So I don't doubt that you think he is 6'6 and all, you just have to see it from our perspective. But he and Horton and all the others are very talented!

I can understand that. I'm just giving my birds eye view of the situation. And if I'm wrong and they are not that big. Well I sure hope they play like they are. Lol

^ I think it is probably rampant to exaggerate measurables. Surely the colleges love these legit combines for that very reason. 6'3.5 or 6'4 should be just fine height for Bentley if he can show schools enough athleticism at that size. Ray OTOH has a tougher sell. Kid is a dynamic talent, but probably 6' at best in socks.

Horton reminds me ALOT of Mister Cobble. I think he can play D1. I'm not sure if a big conference school will bite tho cause he is short.

In my honest estimation Ray is pushing 6'2 and Cole is 6'4 or taller. Austin Dotson is the tallest and is easily 6'5. Gibbs is at least 6'3, as is Jordan Scott.

That's a very, very good sized front line (I know Cole and Ray are listed as TEs, but I didn't see either run passing routes in a 14-7 title game win). Plus, they all got a bit of a mean streak in them.

I'll say again...I'd put this line up against any oline in the state.
