Odd year means Odd Region Hosts
Raceland would host since they are Region 3
Pikeville has a road path... they also would have to travel to Williamsburg for the Regional Title if 1 seeds hold up.

But don't for a minute think a WR playing on a foot broken so bad it required surgery within a short time of the end of the season and a banged up RB the caliber of Pugh didn't have an effect on the offense. That's just realistic. I wouldn't say Pikeville would win like they did in the first game because I know Paintsville had some injuries as well, but they would win 99 out of 100 times playing. If you can't acknowledge that, you don't know as much football as you pretend to. We will just let this season do the talking.
You don't have a very good radar to pick up sarcasm do you.

Bologna the fastest was the track star that never left the bench due to injury. The burgs best receiver would be a water boy at Mayfield. The whole east is a bunch of cupcakes. You said yourself Mayfield was mediocre at best, and they got the trophy. All of 1a was garbage especially the east.

Now, after last year, we know a helluva whole lot can change from the the start of the season to the playoffs. Pikeville was the heavy favorite the first go around last year and delivered in completely dominating fashion. They were the heavy favorite again at home and go popped in the mouth and Paintsville shocked the state, then nearly did it to Raceland but ran out of juice defensively. It will be another great game in a great atmosphere, with Pikeville seeking revenge. Im sure Jet will have his stomach in knots all and possibly begin sputtering by that Friday night lol!
Pikeville will yet again be a good fundamental team, with kids that play with heart and class. Many have mentioned that there are several players as good as Pugh, who are they and who are some of the other names to look for?
On offense at running back, look for Daric Pugh of course, then look for Blake Charles, and Evan Rhodes. Pugh and Charles are proven running backs . Evan Rhodes has Cody Estep type speed and moves. This kid really impresses. Of course he will get better as the season wears on. GREAT potential imo, and just a Soph. Should see Cody Dials at quarterback. He has the "mechanics", and basic fundamentals to be one of the best quarterbacks to ever play at PHS. With Cody Dials comes a dual threat as he is adept at throwing, or running. Throws a very accurate ball, btw. Only a Soph. Game experience will hone his skills. I think the offensive front will be a pleasant surprise to Pikeville fans. At wide receiver is where the Panthers have the luxury of choice. A.J. Vanderbeck, Clay Slone, Chatlin Jarrell, Cody Charles, Andrew McNamee, and Cory Stevens. ALL of which are very capable. Hope I didn't overlook anyone. On defense, the linebackers will be very strong. Def. line will be strong again, although Bryson Patton, who graduated, will be hard to replace, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tanner Roop replacing him as he played that position last season, and time in the weight room has paid off big dividends for him in the off season. Bigger, and stronger. From what I understand, depth on both sides of the line continues to develop. If this team stays focused, and stays healthy, then great things can happen this season . This is jmo, and observation.

Mediocre at best. 1 lucky catch doesn't make someone nfl caliber.

Will Pikeville or any of the east field a descent team this year. If not I look for a beat down by beechwood in the finals. Yall will have to improve a lot on that side of the state. Like Mayfield Beechwood may be better this year. If the best team from that side of the state cant be better than last years Williamsburg team that got beat by as pjdoug says a mediocre at best Mayfield team I see another 2013 type finals. Beechwood was better than Williamsburg last year, so the east team will have to be twice as good this year to stand a chance against a senior heavy beechwood team.

1 lucky catch? I think he had 5 for 163 yards. by far the best receiver in the stadium besides the receiver that was playing quarterback.

If we can continue our sideline to sideline pursuit from this position, the D will be fine. O line will be anchored mostly by returning starter (and senior) C Logan Coleman. Really pays to have a center with his game experience. He's seen most of the D schemes, can set the line in the right blocking schemes. Lots of positives with this team.

NOTE: As far as the def. back positions go, look for Clay Slone and Chatlin Jarrell to maintain those spots. Slone did a great job opposite of Cody Estep last season as a Freshman. Jarrell brings plenty of experience to the table in that position himself. Jonathon Ray, with his speed and talent should see plenty of time in the secondary somewhere. Great special teams player, and could see time at linebacker as well.

True. Seems like this young man has been around forever. We're fortunate to have the experience he brings to the table in that position. Really, as far as the offensive front five goes, it could look like this.
Center - L. Coleman
RG - Issac Lucas
LG - N. Campoy - Rotate - A. Salyer
T - D. Meade
T - T. Roop
I'm almost sure Dalton Meade played def.only last season. He may have played some off. tackle, not sure . Someone correct me if i'm wrong. However, the above mentioned, all have valuable experience on the off. line.

He's going to be a beast for sure on both sides of the ball. He does a good job of receiving the ball as well. Noticed in the M'boro game , he made a fine catch for several yards. He's gonna be fun to watch the next couple of years.

Clay slone, Blake Charles, Cody dials, Nate campoy, Austin salyer will all be juniors next year and I'm expecting a lot out of them. Cody dials will be starting QB and Wyatt battaile at back up. Idk if either will play on D but both have the ability to I'm not sure if they are going to limit dials to QB but I do know he was a good special teams player last year and battaile is versatile and can play several positions idk if we will be seeing him getting very many reps in at QB in varsity but he will most likely be QB on the junior varsity and we may see him getting reps in both ways on varsity but after dials leaves battaile will most likely be QB he played it in Jr. High.

It's like what I saw earlier, this year's seniors when undefeated in 8th grade and if pikeville middle were eligible for the playoffs that year (they didn't become eligible until 2 years ago) they could've very easily won the state championship

The East has a lot of parity but I'm still picking Pikeville to go to Bowling Green.
