Wildcat18 Wrote:I expected a pity story David vs. Goliath response. It's common among discussions with fans of lower classes. Not my first rodeo in that department. You all bark a lot, but will never run with the big dogs. It's not Pulaski's obligation to reach out to a 2A school. Not much to gain and everything to lose honestly. I'm sure if Mayfield called, PC would listen...assuming the schedule was flexible. Highly doubt PC would "beg" any 2A school. Somerset learned that lesson most recently and they're just a mile up the road. Pulaski has a ring now and are in position to make some moves to get more in the future. They're in the category. Historically, I'd put Highlands and BG on top of course, but right now, PC is definitely in the discussion.
I do think Mayfield could give some of those schools a descent game, but I don't think Pulaski would be as successville as you would like against Mayfield. Also why drive that far when you can get a good local game. Corbin is the exception this year as other plans seemed to have fell through. Mayfield doesn't really need to much advice on scheduling as they have found there recipe for success. Maybe coach morris will call your coach, and ask how yall have found so much success when yall pass Mayfield in titles, but unfortunately that will be a very long time thanks for your concern on Mayfield not scheduling well.:biglmao:

Ouch. Another cocky Mayfield fan, why am I surprised? We've had some nice discussions until now. I'll say again, some of you folks make a very nice football program look very cheap. The "I'm better than you" attitudes are quite old from you guys. Make the call and we'll see how it goes. 5A is a tad more difficult than 1A my man.

Id say it goes both ways my man. Someone just said mayfield was all bark, and no bite, and cant run with the big dogs. That could be viewed as disrespect. I believe i said mayfield wouldnt run with highlands or trinity i give them the respect they are do. Id be offended if i were a fan of those teams since you keep putting pulaski on there level. Mayfield would give pulaski all they want. We see these kinds of teams all the time, a 2 year run now yall think you are the crimson tide. You bash me for the david, and goliath thing, but if i said mayfield would run with highlands, trinity, or bowling green id really get bashed. I dont believe they would give those teams a game most years, but pulaski aint them. Remember when you bash a team like mayfield they are always a power. Your team wont be on top forever.

First off, I never said the burg was better. Heck we got 2 trophies to prove they weren't. I said they had all that talent, which was a bunch. They had all that size. They had all that experience. They had a really good team. Now, if they had pushed their schedule a bit more, maybe they would have been able to push through the stress that was on them in that close game. We had been there and knew exactly how to rise to that level. Even though we were much younger, less experienced and smaller, we won as a result. But, it takes all of those things to be a great team. It's not just talent, experience or size. It takes great coaching, great scheduling and a great sense of pride and tradition as well. The burg is really trying to build that. I just think they need to push the envelope a bit. I don't have any bad feelings for them. I have met some great people there, as did my son this year. They acted on the field with class and the people that I met did as well. Some of you tend to get to freaking blown out of proportion about what you think is meant by what someone posts. Get a grip.

Why run with the big dogs as they are usually slow, plus puppies are a lot cuter.

Not to be a jerk.... But LY 5a class had to be the weakest class in 10 years. Not trying to take anything away from PC, they Obviously won it but to say 5a has been good the last lets say 3/4 years would be foolish.

5A as a whole may have been down, but the teams at the top were very strong. Bowling green may have been the best team in the state during some of that 3-4 years.

5A was at its weakest a few years ago when Harlan County was playing in semi state games. It really sucked then. Now :gtfo: This post is sponsored by Dickens Cider. I find it hard to motivated early in the morning without my hot Dickens Cider.
