Middlesboro 2015
With all due respect to the Middlesboro poster talking about team speed, while we will be fast this year, we have had many, many teams with phenomenal speed and athleticism. This one actually may not crack the top 5 even. And that doesn't even mean we won't be fast. Just that you are underestimating our rich past.

MHS will have some solid skilled players this year. While we will have a very strong freshman group, I'm not sure they will be ready to make a huge impact on the varsity level next year, even though they will have to be asked to do so. Two freshman in particular, Raynoch Thompson and Isaiah Williams, will both see the field early and will be standouts as sophomores. Elliott and Capps will also be called upon to carry much of the weight early for the offense. Evans returns experience for the backfield but I'm not sure he will hold off the young talent.

Sophomores Michael Carroll, Owen McWilliams, Anthony Jackson, and Tyler McClelland, all of whom played special teams last year as freshman, will see significant time on the field as well.

The offensive line will certainly be young and undersized, with the exception of returning starter Daniel Webb. That said, if they are well coached, lineman don't have to be huge at the high school level to be effective.

That brings me to my next point. Middlesboro added former MHS and UPike standout Trevor Hoskins to the coaching staff. He has been working hard with Elliott and the recievers and will undoubtedly bring a fresh perspective to the offense. Derringer, a former collegiate lineman, returns to the staff as the new offensive line coach.

Realistically, I think MHS can win 5+ games and a 7 win season would be a great year for the Jackets. Better times are on the way though.

Thank you for a fresh outlook. I could not explain myself as well because I will not call out kid's names. Just don't like to because if someone said something negative about one of them, I would lose it.
I sputter around with what I say, you are giving information to coaches of other teams, and not that is really matters, but do not show your hand unless you are about to fold. I am well aware of the changes and the speed. There are two on offensive that are exceptionally fast, in case it was me you were speaking to regarding speed.
We will be fine and I think maybe even a little better than last year. I know everyone thinks I'm crazy because of all the seniors we had last year...well, we all know what happened there. I think this season is going to be more of a team effort and Massengill will have total control over His team. Practice is going good, the boys seem to be more willing to learn and they are enjoying themselves. I cannot wait, after all, IT IS all about that ball! In the next few years, Middlesboro will be back with a vengeance. God Bless MHS!

That was a well posted assessment. I agree right down to the part where you really think that you can win 5 games. You are way to young for that. And Webb was not a starter on the offensive line.

About the ball, starters and PT is two different things.

News out of Middlesboro , is two more up and coming stars may not be with you. Bad trouble, enough said.

I admire the belief in your team and you are supposed to do that. But, you can not win 5 or more games, fantasy world to believe that.

That is why I do not mention names on here, MHS Parent should not have done that. I know exactly about the woes of certain players, but they are not even considered part of the team. Every post I have made, I have made without including those players. See, this just starts a bunch of nonsense. NOW, The remark MHS Parent made about speed....wrong! There is one that was mentioned that is faster than our QB and we have to look at the player that you mentioned that came here from Alcoa...Speed! I am not fussing at you, but MHS Parent needs to know everything before they start slinging names out! God, that makes me mad. I have not hidden who I am, and as I told you before, I do not consider you threat. For everybody to beat Middlesboro down like this must be worried about something. I do back MHS and I do believe that you are taking us for granted and you shouldn't. Don't beat a team down because they are young. I am really upset with that calling out names business. Especially when one of those names belongs to me. Know me well enough to know, that I MAKE SURE he is well trained, and I said TRAINED. He is also well coached, but I am just as involved in preparing him than anyone. Now you got me fussing, well not you, but name slinger. Geez.

Thank you, okay. Know everything before you post.
Anybody on here from Middlesboro that has their playbook and you want to share it too???:devilflam
Wow. No wonder you have a bad rep on here.

I wouldn't ever name names to tear anyone down. I only said these would be the kids that will do most of the work for MHS this year. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. And me giving names isn't even close to helping opposing coaches. You think they take notes on posts from this website and change their game plan? Are you kidding? Teams willingly trade game film, much less rosters and player names. Coaches make their own assessments of opponents and don't rely of message boards.

So your boy is fast? That's great. I think we heard that the other 10 times you said it. I'm glad he is since I pull for MHS. For someone not naming names, you sure single out your kid quite a bit.

I assure you I am more informed on the football scene at MHS than you are lady. Chill out and enjoy your son's season.

Apparently you are not! You named names and sure didn't know the situation, but Madness sure did and so did I. I have not named a name, and yes, by God, my son is fast for the 11th time! It's not the fact you were helping anyone out, that you don't even know what is going on with a couple of the players. Let them go through Maxpreps or KHSAA to get our roster. Yes, I single my child out, he belongs to me. But, when I am in that stadium, I am cheering for every kid on that team. I have never hidden who I am and you know who I am...don't be so quick to call me a lady, I don't tease my hair, paint myself up with make-up and wear my kids name all over my body and only cheerlead for a specific few, nor do I twist around like I'm it on a stick on a daggone football field. I have a bad rep because I am not going to take anyone tearing down our kids, our coach or any other part of MHS. I will enjoy this season, and next season, and the season after that. It doesn't stop with my child. WOW!!!!:please:

I only named names of kids that will contribute in a positive way. I know the exact situation you are talking about. You want people to stop talking down on MHS, stop acknowledging others who are trying to start drama.

I know you are relatively new on these boards so let me help you, go to my profile and look at my posts from the past. For a long time, I have been the only person defending Middlesboro schools in the midst of many controversial moves.

That said, you want people to stop talking bad about all things MHS, stop giving them a reason. Other fan bases read your over the top, fanatical posts and don't take you seriously. Tone it down a notch and stop being so combative.
I agree 100%. and with that said, why would you post things that are not true. She may be over the top. You on the other hand just admitted that what you posted may not be the truth. Just the way I read it.
Those kids can still contribute. I was not wrong nor was I lying when I said what I did. There are issues with kids every year at every school. Nothing different here.
I like the Jackets! Hope you guys have a good season. But the issues with 2 of those kids are very serious, they may not be back. Sorry, it is the truth though. I have no reason to lie. I pull for the Jackets when I am not pulling for my team. Waste of god given talent. Shame, they could have been contenders.
Don't count the Jackets out yet! Sounds to me that both of you hear bits and pieces and blast it on here! Don't believe everything you hear! Jackets match last years record at least this year!!!
Trashtalker Wrote:Don't count the Jackets out yet! Sounds to me that both of you hear bits and pieces and blast it on here! Don't believe everything you hear! Jackets match last years record at least this year!!!
Hey I apologize. I am not counting the Jackets out at all! I don't think that even if those players don't come back, you guys DO have a team, and a good one. I can't wait to see what the Elliott and Capps kid do together. I also know you have a new QB that is really good. Like I said, I like the Jackets and I have listened to all the garbage on a few teams, and there will be couple of them that teams will overlook and that will be a mistake. I'll take the Jackets winning at least five. I think Pineville will be pretty good, but no way they beat the Jackets and I think Hazard will steamroll them on their very first game of the season. I think they should win several other games though.
I will ask the same as the other poster did. Name the 5 they beat. Please!!!! I will bet anyone, anything they do not win 5. You guys are dreaming. Just name the 5.
TheBoz Wrote:I will ask the same as the other poster did. Name the 5 they beat. Please!!!! I will bet anyone, anything they do not win 5. You guys are dreaming. Just name the 5.

is Bell County one of the five?
I won't give an opinion on Bell. Those two teams are such rivals and go at each other so hard, you never know what might happen. I don't even think the Bobcats and Jackets should play. Did Bell lose a couple of players for next season? Even though I like Pineville, I don't want Boz replying to me. Read too many of your post, according to the rules, you shouldn't even be on here. I've not seen where you have posted anything on other teams you play, so what is up with that? Just sayin'. Anybody else from Pineville on here? No offense, but Pineville will not beat the Jackets, I don't think Pineville will beat Hazard. Rest of the season should go good for Pineville.
Everyone says win 5 , but no one will say what 5. Name them! Big brother on here now? LOL
I've not saw the schedule for Middlesboro. Young team, only 6 senior starters. Massengill has his hands full here.

Confusednicker:
The MHS schedule for 2015 currently on Riherds:

08/21 - @ Bell County
08/28 - Whitley County
09/04 - Pineville
09/11 - South Laurel
09/18 - OPEN
09/25 - Harlan
10/02 - OPEN
10/09 - LCA
10/16 - @ Danville
10/23 - @ Somerset
10/30 - Williamsburg

Hopefully, the Jackets have filled that first open date (Sept. 18th). Anyone know for sure?
Harlan, Pineville, and open (I've heard some rumors and they've all been very beatable teams). Those are definites in my mind. I think they will win 2 of the remaining opponents. There are my 5.
I'll take Bell, Harlan, Pineville, OPEN, and Somerset. I guess it remains to be seen. Even though Middlesboro is supposedly going to be down this year, and have lost 2 players that could have been very good, Coach Massengill will be prepared and is preparing.
I see everyone else is counting on them to beat themselves . Thanks for proving my point. They will struggle with OPEN, can not stop them.
Madness Wrote:I see everyone else is counting on them to beat themselves . Thanks for proving my point. They will struggle with OPEN, can not stop them.
The only reason I chose what I did is because I just don't have a good feeling about Bell. No particular reason, just call it a gut feeling. I'm not feeling real good about Whitley either. I guess I like going with the under dog. I've read these post on Middlesboro and Pineville, Pineville will be okay, but no way they beat Hazard and Middlesboro.
Pineville has beat this class every year they have played them. Sure anything can happen I just think Pineville wins.
Anything can happen. There are just a few factors here that are different. I most certainly do not count out any team, not on anyone's schedule, and I have seem most of them. Pineville will in no way beat them at Bradner. Unless Middlesboro has more problems with kids leaving the team, maybe. But even then, I highly doubt it. Bradner Stadium is a tough place to play, and can you imagine the crowd and the fans going non-stop? Won't happen this season, A lot of Pineville players need to stay off of Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. Can't keep a constant argument going, especially when Middlesboro basically ignores them. Are the Boz an adult, or a kid? I've heard both, and if it is a kid, he is doing your program more harm than good. I enjoy football anyway, and there are several teams I look forward to watching play. So let's just be glad it will be football season soon and enjoy the game without all the crazy. I can't wait to watch Bell Co and HCHS! For sure going with HCHS on this one
Madness Wrote:Pineville has beat this class every year they have played them. Sure anything can happen I just think Pineville wins.

If you're saying that his year's senior class beat Middlesboro in 8th grade, you're correct. They won in a close game. Not sure how much that is worth. That stated, every other grade has WAXED them. In fact, most of the other games have been terribly one-sided.

Surely you're not including JV? Middlesboro plays a true JV and Pineville plays their same team. It's not like it was class of 2016 versus 2016.
I was and your right it was not 2016 against 2016 Pineville is a year younger and waxed MHS in JV. They played the same team because that is all they got, but actually younger. So..........

They have beat them the last several years soundly in JV.
