bac2369 Wrote:^ Well said big five o. I agree I will root for who ever comes out of the east. Williamsburg this year should of won the title but didn't. They were really impressive in 2014. 2013 they was not. They were good but not as good as this 2014 team. But Good luck to all our east teams in 2015.
Yes. They were very impressive last season. That team had a ton of athleticism and talent, and fun to watch. As I watched the championship game on the net, thought they would pull it out, but it didn't end that way. Hoping from here on out somebody from the East will be a mainstay to represent the East in championship play.

Big Five-0- Wrote:Definitely not predicting anything for this season. Just saying I wouldn't be surprised to see this team as good as last season, even with the loss of Cody Estep and a few others. Regular season starts a few mos. away, and post season is a long way off. Anything can happen. Sure, Pikeville has nineteen juniors as of now, and I think six were starters last season, along with eight or nine seniors coming up. However, look at Raceland. Twenty juniors, and what, I think ten seniors? Then look at Hazard. Sixteen juniors, and nine or ten seniors. Junior dominate teams. Really don't know what Paintsville returns as far as numbers by class, but I'll guarantee one thing, they will be ready. Now, who's going to represent the East? At this point , I will predict anyone of the teams mentioned has a chance That's my prediction, and whoever reps the East, I'll support them 100%.there should be parity for sure.

Did Pikeville pick up Chattlin Jarrell from P-burg.

Yes he is now a panther.

No prediction here, but I will say if you want to see one fine football game , then be at Paintsville football field on 9/4/15. Be there early if you want a parking place. Kash Daniel will be much improved this season, and I suspect many on that team will be as well. Gonna be hard to go in there and come out with the win, but Pikeville will be much improved at different positions too. The line play will be one noticeable area of improvement. They will be ready. This you can count on.

that is tempting if I get to come.I think my team is off that week .I've been to Johnson Central but not sure if I've ever watched Paintsville play.

Soâ¦Region Champs this year? Thoughts?

Again no predictions here, but with what this Panther team will put on the field (and it's still early) I not only think the region can be won, but this team CAN go further than last season. A legit shot at State. That is IF they remain focused, and stay healthy.

The talent and potential for this team is ridiculous.

Panthers disappointed me last year.

Bowling Green or Bust for the Panthers.

Maybe it's because I'm old and grumpy, but before I can say a team is better than a team that went undefeated in the regular season and won over the eventual Class 3A State Champion, I'll have to see it on the field first. But it is satisfying to see that even our rivals predict a great season for us!

All right. Where's my buddy jetpilot? I know you gotta have some input on this thread.

So many strong teams in 1-A East, it's going to be interesting no doubt.

Time will definitely tell. I still think District 7 will provide our Regional Champ and State Title Contender.

Last year i called for Pikeville to make it to BG, when that got smacked in the mouth by Paintsville, I thought Raceland would get some much wanted revenge at home against Williamsburg, that wet up in flames. Obviously I am a Raceland guy, but I really like and respect both Coach Mac, Dixon, Herron and Chirico, as well as their programs and fan bases. Imo, single A East has some of the best coaches and staffs in the state. Really looking foward to the playoffs, no predictions from me. Wont be suprised to see any of these teams in Bowling Green playing for a title and quite possibly bringing one home.

And imo it is teams like the ones I mentioned above that make HS football so great.

True. This team is going to be stout up front with some size.

I predicted Williamsburg last year. I'd really like to see Raceland make it there but I think it will be Pikeville this year.

Jarrell gives then a threat in the passing game to go along with the others and Pugh.

I think they could be explosive and have the strength to win in the trenches.

Pikeville has tons of talent. And Paintsville didn't smack them down, Pikeville had more yardage actually. Can't wait to face them again. I'm going with Paintsville by 21.
