I came up with something very similar except the dates which I don't have. Goes something like this:
@ Prestonsburg
Letcher Central PCB
@ Paintsville
Sheldon Clark
@ Belfry
OPEN
South Floyd
@ Jenkins
Hazard ?
@ Phelps
Pike Central
Imo. this schedule don't look too bad. Should see a variety of offences. Prestonsburg will be tough right out of the gate, but will be needed competition.

Almost happened.
And since you mentioned SV, Kasey Tackett played at Pikeville before transferring to SV. So it could have been K. Daniel, Pugh, B. Charles and Tackett all in the backfield for Pikeville in '15. That would have been sick. Still very excited about the team Pikeville will field this coming season.

Must be like somewhat of a trade out. Last season we got Owen Caudill from SV, and this season they get Tackett. Might be that SV gets the better of the trade, because Caudill I think, was on the injury list just about all season long. Coaches were pretty high on him coming in.

^They already got the best of it...Tackett did this for them last season. 1685 yds rushing and 18 TDs.
4 | Tackett, Kasey
| 14 | 166 | 1685 | 18 | 120 | 1.3 |

For all that Pugh and Hatfield accomplished last year the top two rushers (in terms of yards) in Pike County both return and both play for SV
:yikes:

What is Tackett a Junior, Senior? He sure put up some impressive yardage last season, no doubt. Pikeville's backfield would have been absolutely loaded with all of the above mentioned. Still, if coach adds Evan Rhodes to the equation, could be a pleasant surprise in itself. As previously mentioned, he is very quick. Jp's video shows that, but he also seems to have deceptive speed along with it.

Looks like Valleys' going to make some noise......again.

Ill miss the middlesboro game. Reminded me of the 90s games. When the two used to play all the time. But im looking forward to having hazard back in the district and adding pike central is a no brainer imo win or lose hope they keep this game for more than two years.

Glad we got PC as well. Imo, should have been long before now. Again, don't think this schedule look's too bad. Personally, would like to have seen Sheldon Clark replaced with say a team like Russell, or yeah, Middlesboro would have been a good replacement. Wish the best to SC. Hopefully, with a new coach that program will come back to being competitive as it once was. Imo, a slightly stronger schedule for Pikeville would be more beneficial.

Renewing with Russell definitely would have helped. Russell should have a quality product the next few years.

Exactly. Considering travel, it's not all that far between the two schools. However, Middlesboro, longer distance no doubt, but Both schools benefit from this game though. Russell having a better team in the making, and Pikeville continuing to schedule them and other stronger teams are examples of what Pikeville needs to continue it's quest for greatness . Jmo.

Six strong teams out of a ten game schedule isn't bad though. Gotta play the district.

I agree. Districts are weak after 1 or 2 teams outside of the super 6A district. I like Pikeville schedule though. Good balance of styles, levels of teams, travel times, etc. Looking for Pikeville to have a nasty taste in their mouth after last year. Good luck to the Panthers in '15.

True. I and every Panther fan I've talked to does. They tell me the only cure for it is to beat Paintsville this season:biggrin: Thanks for the good luck wishes Scotty.

^ Well that would help but if you want to beat them and make it count beat them to go to state and leave them with a bitter taste in there mouth..

The Panther 2015 schedule is going to be more difficult than 2014. They drop 1a,2a and 3a and add 1a,3a and 5a teams. Plus the the tougher teams on the schedule are away. Pikeville should be good, but this is a very tough schedule.

Tough schedule, yes. However not much change though. Adding Letcher, and PC is adding strength, but taking away M'boro and Russell, again doesn't make that much of a positive change. Sure, Jenkins is added back in due to district, but does it add strength of schedule? For 1-a football, this is a tough schedule, and yes there's going to be more tough road games, still trading Sc for M'boro, or Russell would have been more beneficial to the team, and this is not a knock on the coaching; just a preference.

Russell droped pikeville for racleand game. Cant blame them to much for that. Out of pikevilles hands on that one. Middlesboro game isnt that bad of a loss considering the how long the road trip was for a regular season game.

Long road trip for sure down on that Tn border.

Agree. Going to have to make it count this year. Everyone knows what Paintsville will have this season, so it certainly won't be easy going into their place and come out with the win. However, from what I hear I wouldn't be surprised to see this team as good as last seasons.

^ its according to how they develop. Estep was a special player on both sides of the ball and will be missed. They got 10 games to get ready for the REAL season.

He was a special player for sure. Gonna be hard to replace. The good thing is , there's a core of good wr that's ready to step up. They got the burning speed of Estep? Don't know, but some close from what I'm told. Some have good hands and experience. I do believe there's talent to make up for the loss. won't come over night, but they will develop. Looking forward to comparing this team at the end of 10 games to last year though.

Isn't Pikeville going to be junior dominate this year.
05-17-2015, 11:24 PM
Yep. Nineteen as of now.
05-18-2015, 06:47 AM
Well it's possibly 2016 could be there year. But not saying 2015 isn't.

The Juniors will dominate the east. that's my prediction and I'm sticking to it .

:pondering: i don't want to peak to soon on prediction this year. nicker:

Definitely not predicting anything for this season. Just saying I wouldn't be surprised to see this team as good as last season, even with the loss of Cody Estep and a few others. Regular season starts a few mos. away, and post season is a long way off. Anything can happen. Sure, Pikeville has nineteen juniors as of now, and I think six were starters last season, along with eight or nine seniors coming up. However, look at Raceland. Twenty juniors, and what, I think ten seniors? Then look at Hazard. Sixteen juniors, and nine or ten seniors. Junior dominate teams. Really don't know what Paintsville returns as far as numbers by class, but I'll guarantee one thing, they will be ready. Now, who's going to represent the East? At this point , I will predict anyone of the teams mentioned has a chance That's my prediction, and whoever reps the East, I'll support them 100%.
05-18-2015, 06:39 PM
^ Well said big five o. I agree I will root for who ever comes out of the east. Williamsburg this year should of won the title but didn't. They were really impressive in 2014. 2013 they was not. They were good but not as good as this 2014 team. But Good luck to all our east teams in 2015.
