Williamsburg has had two teams this year that are squarely in my heart. Middlesboro, too. These kids leave nothing on the playing fields; they give their all. I love watching the intensity and heart that these kids have given. Even with all the administrative BS that Middlesboro had to go through, their student section was sick this year!! LOL
Great job Williamsburg....win lose or draw, you are all winners to me!!!

Average ranking of teams played by Doss - 62 including 3 top ten teams and 7 other teams ranked in top 50.
Average ranking of teams played by Williamsburg - 120 - No teams played ranked lower than 50

Didn't Doss lose to those 3 top ten teams?
Also, you are not accurate in your statement. Williamsburg didn't play as many teams in the top 50 as Doss did, but that would be entirely geographical. As a matter of fact, South Laurel is ranked at 48, Clay at 50 and Corbin at 62. They beat Corbin 4 times this year...FOUR times. They also won against South Laurel and Clay County.
I'm not going to take the time to average Doss' opponents, but I know for a fact that some of them are rated pretty high....Atherton at 157, Western at 99, John Hardin at 116 and Iroquis at 202 just to name a few.

You need to watch a game Flash101. And need to quit looking at ranking. Clay is 0-1 against Williamsburg, Corbin was 0-4 against Williamsburg, South Laurel was 1-3 against Williamsburg. Just those team along Flash101 your record is 1-8 :lmao: And the only reason South Laurel, Clay and corbin drop in the ranking.............THINK ABOUT IT FLASH101 YOUR RECORD IS 1-8 Now before you post again think about how great you said these team was. :why:

This time the average was Doss 60 and Williamsburg had 108; however, Williamsburg had 7 games against teams not even in the top 200. Doss only had 3. Just for the sake of argument I give those teams 201, that would make the average ranking for Doss 74 and Williamsburg 126. Williamsburg did not play any games against teams ranked below 50. Doss, on the other hand, played 17 games against teams ranked below 50, with 5 of those games against top 10 teams. They average ranking of the teams Williamsburg lost to is 83. The average ranking of teams Doss lost to is 18.

Just to satisfy ME??? nicker: YOU are the one spending an enormous amount of time to try and discredit Williamsburg...and for what reason I cannot fathom!! It really doesn't mean a pig's pizzle what you or anybody else thinks about this Williamsburg team; it don't change the FACT that they are playing at Rupp for the state title. They very well may get beaten first game, but at least they are THERE and they beat a Clay dynasty to get there!

Yeah, that weak football schedule really cost them, didn't it. Cost them for hotel rooms, food and transportation all the way to Bowling Green.

So you are saying that the kicker never kicking in pressure situations all season had no affect. Its easy to make fg's and extra points up by 50 at half. Not so easy when you realize your kick can win or lose the game.

Never said they didn't lose as a team. You cant put it all on a kicker, but if he had kicked in more pressure situations he may his chances would have been better. Weak schedules equals blowouts, and that equals not being prepared for pressure moments in tight games. Not saying its the kickers fault, id put it on whoever come up with that horrible schedule more than anyone else.

I didn't say anything like that!
I couldn't list all the factors that effect a football or basketball team in one season.
Bottom line is, Williamsburg has surpassed all predictions this year, and I'm pretty proud of that little team. I just wish that everyone could support them in their games for as far as they can go rather than take jealous little stabs at them at every turn.

Andy your football team and basketball team will both be watching the jackets play in the state tournament so leave the kids alone.
Flash your statements hold no water due to the fact you lied about the Griffith kids.

Yes, this is the same group. Out of the 8 Seniors and 1 Junior we have 6 of them were playmakers on the football team. They all but played every down for the last four years. They know how to win and will do everything they can to make that possible.

Amen Granny! I hate that so many take stabs at this group of boys! They have given their all to every sport they have ever played. It is hard for a mom to read that we can't do anything because of the schedule we played or we are not fast enough or whatever reason. I think they have proven they are capable of great success. JACKET PRIDE!

You people crack me up. Nobody took a stab. The point is im sure Williamsburg was not satisfied with just making it back to the championship game. The goal is to win it. If you think that a tougher schedule wouldn't have helped get them over the Mayfield hump then you are entitled to your opinion. You wont convince me a tougher schedule would not have helped, since they were only 2 points short of winning it. Good luck to the basketball team, id rather some small school in it.

How is it a stab to say they blowed out a lot of opponents they came out on the winning end of those, and would the word below average schedule be more appropriate for your taste. I guess they can celebrate making the news, but im sure they would have rather celebrated something else. Ive noticed before I ever started posting on here, there are a few mods that like to stir, but don't like it when someone else does, and you are one of th ones I notice loves to do this. Shouldn't you be more professional. Not everything people say has to be read as being negative. So I pointed out a tougher schedule might have helped, you make it sound like ive just completely bashed them. Should I just lie to keep your feelings from being hurt, and say Williamsburg played an outstanding schedule in both football, and basketball.

You have made...what....4 or 5 posts in this thread? And none of them contained the slightest positive note toward a school that has made it to the state level in BOTH football or basketball. This is the first time in a very long time that they have had state wide recognition. Not only is that good for that school, it impacts positively on the entire region, IMO.
All you are offering are negative comments and thinly veiled critiques that really don't mean anything. Personally, it just sounds like a little kid whining or perhaps a jealous rival.
I don't care if you think I'm professional or not. Please, report me to the other mods if you'd like some feed back on that subject.

I had read before I opened the account. And its pretty obvious you can get away with what you want grow up. The other eastern fans will take up for you, it was obvious reading early on there is an eastern bias if yall say something about a team its fine, but god forbid someone else has an opinion. My teams has lost before, and if someone points out some reasons I don't take it as a stab, if someone said my team needed to get a lot better on the line, and that's why they couldn't win a championship its not a knock, but if anyone says anything about an eastern ky team other than they are the greatest yall band together, and get offended. I don't know how to do an avatar so that should answer that part. And yes I do stir sometimes scratch that maybe a lot of times, but I can admit it so does some others on here including you, but some wont admit it, but in this case it was an honest opinion.

I only have to have an account to reply to post so I must have got a great deal, being able to read everything without an account, and that's why seem to know what goes on in only 6 days. Ive been reading past threads from the last couple seasons for a few months.
