Corbin 56 Whitley County 45
#1
Final.

Whitley with a bad game plan. Simple as that.
So many bad decisions. Too many stupid threes.
Whitley led for more than three quarters and still managed to somehow lose by 11.

Never count out Tony P! Whitley may have had more talent but Tony P is tough to beat tourney time and defiantly the best coach in the region. Look for a Corbin Vs South Laurel championship game. SL should win but don't doubt coach P, wouldn't surprise me if they win district for sixth straight ( I think), The Burg and Colonels will be playing each other in pick up games this weekend. Too bad they all couldn't go to the region though. Very good district this year. GO HOUNDS!

Tony was setting Whitley up by letting them beat Corbin as bad as they did last game. To bad Overbay wasn't smart enough to figure that out!!

I actually thought Overbay did a good job this season. I didn't expect them to be that good. They played very hard every time I watched them and they were a tough talented team that really hustled. I know Whitley fans won't agree but I thought he did very well this year. It was just a very competitive district and Coach P and the hounds rose to the occasion....again. Good season Whitley...I wish you were in the opposite bracket as Corbin this year. I would have much rather beaten Williamsburg tonight. :-)

Corbin's game plan defensively appeared to be designed to keep Whitley away from the basket and take their chances that the Colonels could beat them shooting jump shots. It would have been easy to abandon it after giving up all the 3's early, so I have to give the Corbin staff credit for sticking with the plan.
w
Corbin got a big effort from Trevor Browning on the boards and from Andrew Taylor on the offensive end tonight.

Congrats to the Colonels on a great season, wish they could have made it to the regional tourney as well.

I agree with you on Overbay. Kids don't always follow the gameplan, and I think that they fell in love with the 3 ball tonight and just never really got into an offensive flow. Taylor kind of took over in the 4th qtr and then it was over.

Whitley County Luke woods getting in foul trouble was the difference in this game. Plus Corbin wanted it more in the second half.

Whitley was a rudderless ship when Woods went out. Maguet was very big for Hounds tonight.
#12
Hounds have second best coach in district. Brent West is second best and Tony P. #1.

Maguet played a very good all-around game for the Hounds.

I would worry more about Middlesboro's whole sports programs than being concerned about Corbin, Middlesboro is really bad at everything. Go to bed loser, I know I want be seeing you at the region.Confusednicker:

Coach West has played a huge role in Corbin's success over the past several years. He is a very good tactician and Coach P. is smart enough to utilize his talents. Corbin has been fortunate to be able to keep him on the staff.

Look at this way fellow Whitley fans, you can now get all those football studs in the weight room quicker!
#24
Whitley let it slip right through their hands.Corbin has some good players and coaches though.Corbin will make some noise in the region.
#25
Whitley had this one then nope
#26
Congrats corbin
#27
Congrats to Corbin and an outstanding game.Hounds can be a threat in the region.Clay and Knox are the favorites but Hounds better not be overlooked.
#28
