Who will be Harlan County's Next Coach?
Well since the Principals son is the HC jailer, she at least wont be going there.

This has become way more political than ever imagined. A very small group and I mean small group that had a little influence with the school board, which is up for re-election.

This very small group feels the way to bowling green is to throw the ball with all these athletes we dont have.

It would take forever to describe who all is related to who or friends with who on the school board or in the community who has always held grudges.

Welcome to politics of harlan co
Mess up move up is usually what happens to admin!!!! You never seeing them have to go back in the classroom do you. I hope you all get a good coach but I am sure a lot of the coaches in the state wouldn't touch that job with a ten foot pole after what they did to coach Larkey!!!
thanks Harlan co. from bell co. pathfork and the rest of your co is now open. Cumberland is now open to the guys on the other side of the mt. what u all think whitesburg

And now we are also open to Harlan City. Which I hear some parents are checking into sending their kids there for stability reasons.

Does Harlan have a jail?

I'm sure they do. They also have Raylan Givens and Boyd Crowder. I'll give the place two thumbs up just for that.
Didn't know. I read an article about 40 counties that have a jailer and no jail and I was thinking Harlan was on that list.

Sorry off topic.
It's a shame how larkey got let go but people saying Eddie Creech or chad wood those are the two names I keep hearing or whoever HC hires for the job if it is a young coach doesn't mean HC will never be good again. The top coaches in the mountains like larkey , Dudley when he was at bell and coach h from belfry. someone had to give those guys a chance as a young coach to become a great coach. because your a young coach doesn't mean you can't coach just have to give young coaches a couple of years to see how good they are before you doom HC to never winning again. This coming year is going to be tough for whoever gets the job and that was if larkey was still at HC but in 2016 things should get better.

Good point. I heard them talking about that on KSR a week or so ago. You may be right about there being no jail in HC.
They are a jail in harlan county.
Harlan County is one of the largest counties in eastern Kentucky. There is a jail here.
 Found the article. mistook Harlan for Johnson.
So is Russell out of the mix?
I have kept very quiet on all this cause I have heard so many things and rumors. But I am breaking my silence. Bottom line is a legendary coach got let go. Now, the REAL reason we may never know but what we do know is that he won't be the coach at HC next year. It just won't be the same not seeing coach on the sideline next year. Coach if you read this stuff, I just want to say thank you for what you did for this county. You brought us together in a very difficult time with consolidation. Again, thank you for all you did for these kids and county. Now with that being said, I just want to say to all TRUE HC fans, what is done is done. We HAVE to move on. We have to get behind these kids and next coaching staff and support them. Whether it is Chad Wood, Eddie Creech, the guy from Oregon or whoever it might be, it is time for us to be looking ahead instead of dwelling on what happened with coach. I guarantee he doesn't want us fans to turn our backs on this program he helped build. Thank you again coach Larkey and good luck to his replacement and the players.
Can someone clear somethings up for me please....

I heard that Coach Larkey was offered the job back after being fired and turned it down ?

I also heard that the head football coach will be in place by Thursday ?
The word is Russell from Knott or Knox
I'd be shocked if it's not Eddie Creech. I would expect to hear something this week.

These two posts make more sense than all the others in this thread combined. You are right bear claw, and I am sure I will be there next season. It just stings right now. Larkey deserved so much more respect that what he received from Burkhart!! He just did!!!

I don't know about your first question, but I highly doubt that a coach will be "in place" for another few weeks...JMO

No, it isn't the word!!

I would hope so, too, but in reality I doubt it!
I am hearing Eddie Creech also and the announcement might come sooner than later. What the next question is who will be the assistants. I wouldn't be surprised to see Frazier as one. After that...who knows.

RunItUpTheGut
When Possbly will they be making the announcement and naming of football coach
^
I don't have the first clue!!
I keep hearing the announcement will come tomorrow.
My humble opinion is that if they already have a coach (if announced thursday) he has been in place before Larkey was fired
I don't know if it was a done deal, but there was definitely a plan in place before Larkey was fired--there always is. That plan seems ready to be finalized.

Also, Mrs. Burkhart is taking the heat for this decision, but she wasn't the one who initiated it. Should she have handled it better? Yes. Should others take some responsibility for the decision and the process? Absolutely.

It will be announced tomorrow. He was not in place before Larkey was fired. I know both of these as facts.

Well, is she the one taking initiative to ask Greer to step down so that Kevin Blakley can have that position??
She SHOULD take the heat for this cluster! She also should've had a committee to make the final decision; however, I will say....it's a good decision.
I have heard they just hired Eddie Creech as the new coach.
What is Creechs credentials , I'm having a hard time figuring out what makes this guy so much more appealing than Larkey.
From what I am hearing is that it has nothing to do with wins and losses
