you got a point there about chapman running a different offense. but his ring were not as head coach but asst. and his spread offense will run with a team thats threw the ball holland for the last two years has never threw, how's the qb going to know the time to get rid of the ball and the linemen blocking for the pocket. they are use to running soon as the ball moves. down the road yes but chapman onlly looking for two years then retire.......wise up

Let's see Knott Co.'s Schedule.

Coach Chapman is an excellent coach. The challenge will be getting the better skilled athletes out playing football. If he can do that, he will have a pretty successful tenure there, if he can't, it will be like always.

would love to see Knott become competitive, but Chapmans personality will not be able to get the athletes out of the hallway.

Breathitt was nothing without chapman. Holcomb couldn't win a title without chapman.

chapman is one of the best coaches in the state he made Holcomb

I have read posts before but this one takes the cake. Chapman made Holcomb. I honestly can't believe someone posted this statement. Chapman is a good coach but I think you have just fell out of a tree and I will leave it at that

Yeah Chapman and Holcomb made a good team. I wouldn't say that Chapman made Holcomb. It was more along the lines that Chapman got to focus all his energy on defense and Holcomb got to focus all his energy on Offense. Both with very strong minds in those areas. Without Chapman Holcomb still won games. Chapman without Holcomb won games with the exception of last season at Perry. Chapman style coaching is starting to get obsolete. Kids don't respond to the "tough love" anymore. They want to be treated good and kids respond to that better than you yelling down their throats. Now when these two were together at Breathitt they were dangerous. I could only imagine if they hooked up again at Letcher Central.

You Breathitt flunkies act like they were USA TODAY NATIONAL CHAMPIONS or something. I admit they had some good teams back then but who did they beat that was so good? Highlands, Trinity, Hoover? They won the weakest division in KY.
03-05-2015, 07:01 PM
Plus recruited kids from Detention Center.
03-05-2015, 07:24 PM
Flunkies...they beat Franklin Simpson and Fort Knox and Russell the year they won state..I don't count Corbin. sorry they didn't play in 3A or 4A back in the day. Who said they were USA TODAY anyways. I was just saying they worked really well together. Snow must be getting to you. Bulldogs....I'm Gonna assume Lawrence County. Who have you beat?
03-05-2015, 07:25 PM
Detention center...if I remember correctly only one kid played from the detention center and that was the 02 team. Only had 7 TDs. Not much of a factor. The 90s didn't have anyone from the detention center. It didn't exist then.

Please let's see the Knott County Schedule !!!!!

Holcomb is overrated. Defense wins championships and chapman was the brains behind those teams and win streak . Holcomb can't win a championship without chapman he made Holcomb. in time chapman will win another title . Knott goes 7-3 this year

Fort Knox, Franklin Simpson, and Russell are average programs at best. I guess Warren was from Breathitt.
03-06-2015, 12:49 AM
Breathitt was fortunate to be decent while their classes were weak. They wouldmhave been nothing and would not have won 42 in a row without John Paul I guarantee it. If French ever steps down at SW they better go after paul chapman
03-06-2015, 03:42 AM
Thomas and Warren came from the detention center....forgot about Warren that's how much of an impact he made as well. Those programs were good then. I'm not talking now. So your saying the states leading rusher in Derek Homer was an average team at best. Giw bout we just say every class is weak and the state champion just played in a weak class the year they win. Highlands won all their state championships when their class was weak too I guess. So did trinity, belfry, boyle county, etc. these guys can't help what class they play in. What district they play in. I say if you win a state title there should be some kind of respect earned. Lawrence County in 1997 was lights out good. But ended up getting beat by bourbon in the state semi finals. Teams are good. They just can't help who they play on the road to a title. Wiznut Chapman was and still is a great coach. I never said other wise. All I am saying to bulldog is if a team wins a title they have earned the respect to say hey we are state champions regardless of how strong or weak their class is. If that was the case. Let's just let the winners from each class play each other and determine a full state champion. But we would have to make 2 more classes or take 2 classes away. In that 4 class system a state title was huge. That's just my opinion though. When I played they only took the district champ and runner up. It's changes a lot since then.

I ll give you that bobcat good points  shorten it up next time though alright

I ll be honest though bobcat I don't care for Holcomb he has always seemed arrogant. I can't stand arrogant people, maybe he is not, but seems like it.

I don't know how anyone can say Knott Co. will win X number of games when it's evident no one knows the schedule. Let us know who they play !!!!
03-17-2015, 08:49 PM
They better have a lot of speed if If I looked at the schedule right Henry Clay at Home that's not going to be pretty!! it will take this program 4 to 5 years to get were they want to be its not like basketball will take a while.
