We can always take 421 to Richmond. Trust me, we know how to get to Lexington.

topnotch Wrote:Corbin beat SL. Whitley beat you, Williamsburg beat you. Don't take this as A knock on SL. you have A good team, the problem is they are all in the same district. I believe all teams in that district are about as even as you can get. All four teams should be in the regional play off's. Two of those teams will stay home

South beat Whitley by around 19

What a game! Farmer continuing to be consistent go to player.Smith and Farmer and Clay just has no quit. When Farmer's three went in,it was obvious that momentum was going to carry Clay through, took a lot of air out of the SL team.South Laurel attacked Clay's only weakness, the interior. If Clay had a tough player over 6' 4",they would be with the top in the state in my opinion.I have a feeling we will be seeing South in the regionals to get to state.
#38
South laurel knows how to play.. Good coaching
#39
Big kid from south is prolly the best player in the region followed by Frazier from Obi who had 31 on clay tonigh. but clay has the best overall team by far! trey farmer is packing cc on his back! sounds like he had another great game tonight. District 49. Is going to be crazy!
#40
Best player in region....lol you have lost your mind . That kid is a stud but he has no moves in the post he rebounds misses and put them back. And frazier is a nice player on a losing team not in the top 5 in region.
#41
Stats don't lie boys go look them up then tell me who is best in region.
#42
Just based on size, size kills in the mountains at the high school level. also if Frazier were on clay county or south he would definitely be top 3 player in the region. Haven't looked at stats that's just from watching ball games.
#43
Let me rephrase my statement if we were having a draft on the 13th region he would be my first pick. Plenty of guards absolutely loaded and all close in talent but he's something that not everyone has, does that make a little more sense ? To me his size is a valued commodity that no other team possesses other than maybe north laurel. Isn't he a junior or soph also?
#44
Well stats don't lie go look! Anyone can shine on a bad team. Farmer and Smith both could average 30 or more if they where selfish players and didn't share the ball. Frazier don't have to share it he has no help.
#45
Junior and I agree about his size but he is not the best player in this region. Lower half of top 10.
#46
But Taylor is the best Big in the 13th and it's not close. But he's no Evan Hall or Colton Elkins.
#47
Any given night the best player in the region could change I would love to see the Obi kid on another team tho, to your point he also has to score on five guys keying on him. Where as if you play clay you have to guard all 5 of them. Im clay fan and north went down again tonight but I'm not sure I'd bet against them in the district it being at north and collier getting eligible. I'm scared if clay has an off night from 3 were in trouble much like kentucky would be. But anyhow it's going to be a hard road out if district and even harder out if region.

-_- Wrote:This was really not a good game at all for Clay Farmer can't guard a pole standing still wolf played offal and this is the worst team that Clay has had on the defensive side of the ball since Robert has been the coach one shot don't define a player Farmer made a great shot but all night long he played know defense I like this team but don't know if they win the region without playing defense as a team the big guy killed them all night they are very lucky they came out with a win tonight.....

What game was you watching ?? Saying Wolfe had a bad game ??

Points Scored

Farmer 17
House 16
Smith 19
Sexton 14
Wolfe 14

Rebounds
Farmer 0
House 3
Smith 3
Sexton 8
Wolfe 10

So before you trash talk kids !!! Please know what you are talking about!! Because it looks like to me Wolfe had a double double game !!
#49
South has a very good team!! And the good thing they are all south kids. Clay and North are basically playing AAU ball. Bailey Rice will be at Clay next.
#50
I have no dog in the fight, my jackets are BAD!!!
I watched every team play, and JMO: clay is the best team and Smith is best player in Region... Isn't it all about team in high school ?
I don't see any D1 prospects in region. I see a lot of good teams and good coaches. Clay is the team to beat!!!
#51
I think parents and arm chair coaches worry more about individual things than the kids playing do. I know the CC kids really enjoy playing and winning together. Now if we as the adults can get to that level we will enjoy watching the games a lot more. I overheard Smith thanking Farmer after the game last night for giving him tips to get his shot to fall against OBI. To me that's what a team is all about. I love this CC boys. :Cheerlead
#52
The success of a TEAM is that the players like being around each other. They are not worried about stats!!! Worried about winning and not losing..
#53
Which 5 or 6 teams on Clay's schedule would have beaten the Jackets? and why? Also, it shows how scared CC fans are of Williamsburg when they downgrade the Jackets on a thread that is about CLAY and SOUTH!! HA HA!!!

But it wouldn't pass through any part of Whitley County on the way to Lexington. I think it's great that there will be so many CC fans going to Rupp to cheer on their region champion Yellowjackets that you will have to take a BUS!! What wonderful sportsmanship. I'll let you all borrow some orange... I have plenty.. LOL

I wanted to dispute this claim with facts, so I went to Riherds to find SL's stats from the Williamsburg game... they aren't posted. The only other SL game with missing stats is the Clay game from a couple days ago. This is a mystery... call the Hardy Boys!... The Case of the Missing Stats...

Williamsburg can't and will not be CC!!

Boyle County, Knott County Central, Perry County Central, Lexington Catholic, and Wayne County. All good teams on Clay County's schedule and all would beat Williamsburg. Williamsburg has a good team, but nobody is scared in Manchester.
#58
I couldn't agree more count, these boys from CC all love playing together and winning. And from what I've seen they are all about winning. They all make some kind of sacrifices for the betterment of the team. They don't care who gets or does what as long as the team gets the WIN. I hope this kids keep doing what they are doing and don't let any outside voices get in their head.

There's one thing for sure, there ain't NOBODY from Clay scared of Williamsburg. Period. Fact. Most on this board, not all but most, have been complimentary of the Yellowjackets. Don't confuse that with fear. As I have said several times in other threads, win something important, like a region championship, then crow. As for the schedule, W'Burg has only played Corbin on the road. Rest have been neutral courts or at home, or second level teams. They'll be hitting the road soon for a few games, let's see how they play out. They might remain undefeated, might not. Williamsburg has a good team and a shot at winning, but Clay ain't afraid.

You better stick to your "bad" mboro jackets!! They need a lot of attention. I gaurantee you clay will NOT get beat the burg by 50 like they did your jackets in the region last year!!! What an embarrassment....just like the season you all are having this year!!!

I look forward to the burg playing clay sometime in the future. It will be an exciting game!!!
