Clay County 82 South Laurel 79
#1
FINAL...:Cheerlead
#2
This years districts and 13th regional tournaments are going to be outstanding.
#3
Trey Farmer hit a unbelievable 3 pointer to send this game in to overtime. :bba
ll: Wow what a game.
#4
Omg that was great shot. He has no fear

What. A. Game. The fans on both sides made it an intense atmosphere and both teams played a darn good ball game. With the game on the line you want the ball in Farmer's hands. Big time shot. Taylor killed Clay inside like I figured he would with his size, but Clay found a way to survive. Congratulations on a nice win tigers
#6
Congrats to Clay. South proved they are good enough to win region.
#7
Farmer has so many ways he can score. Gosh reminds me of someone who makes big shots
#8
I felt as though South may be the 2nd or 3rd best team in this region and they proved that. Once again, size killed the Tigers. However, they survived by huge play from Farmer and Smith. Wolfe, House, and Sexton also played well. This was about as good of a high school atmosphere as you'll find. I felt as well both teams played really well. Size doesn't lie and Taylor had a big game. I've said it once and I'll say it again, Will Sexton coming in as a sophomore after seeing very limited minutes last season is providing a great spark. As far as officiating, it was pretty even. I won't say the first push by Taylor was offensive but the second one they missed was very close. Also, I felt as though Sexton was fouled on that attempt after the steal with less than a minute left. Correct me if I'm wrong but did Blake Smith not play the last half of the 4th and entire overtime with 4 fouls? Pretty impressive.

He shot that one going down to the floor....I still don't know how it went in...:truestory:

Amazing atmosphere......I wish the region would go back to the high schools.....the arena doesn't have any atmosphere at all to it......I will say this South impressed me tonight but the crazy thing is they might not even get out of their district....the 50th is about even from top to bottom
#11
Nice win for the tigers, South played much better than I thought and the Taylor kid is a stud inside. I thought All of Clays players played well. But thought Smith played one of the smartest games I've saw. Took it when he had it and passed when he didn't. Made all the right decisions. And Man Trey made a huge shot. Ryan House is the best defender in the region.
#12
Nice win for the Tigers! Congrats to Coach Marcum and the Tigers.
Great to see Farmer send this game into over-time with the same 3 point shot he opened the game with.
Tiger Nation!

So glad I got to stop and watch this one tonight. What a game, best 5 bucks I've spent in awhile. Like to know whats in that Farmer bloodline but its really unbelievable to watch. What a shot. Smith is terrific athlete and scorer for Clay. House and Sexton may have not missed a shot tonight. South Laurel was equally as impressive, Taylor is a beast inside, great hands on the big fella. Grubb is great as well and hard to believe the kid is only a sophomore. #10 Anders looked very athletic and long and if I'm not mistaken just a freshman for South. Great game and congrats to Clay on an incredible win

I honestly felt that it would be very close, When you are in A tight spot and the game is on the line You turn to the one that you expect to do it, it doesn't surprise me for A second that Farmer took the shot and made the shot. I have never said that Clay was not a good team, heck they have A good team ever year. I always support them in state tourney, I have said that this year the 13th has 4 or 5 teams that are about even, the district that has Williamsburg, every team in that district IMO can beat any other team in the region. Clay did what they had to do Congrats. to you great win.

Williamsburg is still unbeaten.

South may not be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the 50th.

Right now I would say

1. Williamsburg
2. South Laurel
3. Whitley Co
4. Corbin

Williamsburg with a little distance on other 3 but #2,3,4 can flip flop at anytime. South Laurel with a good year to host district. They shoot the ball very good at home but thats to be expected with young guards.
#18
South Laurel , Whitley Co and Williamsburg all 3 may be top 5 in region along with Clay Co and Knox Central

Only one way to find out but you can't deny they're playing well as of late. In a month you can throw the records out the window. Do they host district?
#20
Does anyone have stats. I'd say all of CCs starters were in double figures.
#21
Blake Smith 19
Farmer 17
House 16
Wolfe and Sexton around 10 each

Taylor 28
Grubb 19
Allen 12
Anders and Miller around 9-10 each
#22
Would've thought Smith and Farmer way more. Haha Guess it just felt like that in the moment.
#23
Good win CC.
#24
This was really not a good game at all for Clay Farmer can't guard a pole standing still wolf played offal and this is the worst team that Clay has had on the defensive side of the ball since Robert has been the coach one shot don't define a player Farmer made a great shot but all night long he played know defense I like this team but don't know if they win the region without playing defense as a team the big guy killed them all night they are very lucky they came out with a win tonight.....
#25
I guess we won't talk about Williamsburg's schedule any more. I think SL has gained our respect, they are A darn good BB team. the district is very good from top to bottom.

Ilike your post, the onley thing I find that it likes is, the first second and third are all in SL's district.
#27
Corbin beat SL. Whitley beat you, Williamsburg beat you. Don't take this as A knock on SL. you have A good team, the problem is they are all in the same district. I believe all teams in that district are about as even as you can get. All four teams should be in the regional play off's. Two of those teams will stay home
#28
Somebody please respond so he will hush.
#29
The other districts in the 13th are chalk.
#30
Williamsburg schedule still sucks......if they would have played clays schedule....they would have 5 or 6 losses at least......and we will see what district is chalk in March....I just hope your yellow jackets make it there
