Sheldon Clark has to be the favorite

The way Sheldon Clark is playing right now, I dont knopw if anybody in the Region can beat them.

It makes no sense to me that Sheldon Clark is in this tournament. I understand how the classes work, but it kills me to see teams in this one year and out the next. Shelby valley, Sheldon Clark, and P-Burg are all teams that have changed over the last couple of seasons.

Unless I am mistaken, SV has been in the All A for 7 straight years.

Why even call this an "ALL A" anymore?

I think you are correct, but there was a year or span of years that they missed it. I may be mistaken, but my point is that the rules for differences in classes needs to be changed.

I think if you are 2-A or above in football then you shouldn't be able to play in the All A in basketball.

Didn't realize how well Betsy Layne is playing. If Sheldon Clark and Betsy Layne are in the same bracket, it could be a great semi final game.

I would change that to 3A and above. Otherwise that would only leave 32 football-playing schools left eligible for the All A. Schools like Sheldon Clark, West Carter, Morgan County have no business competing in a small school tournament against the likes of Phelps and Rose Hill.

Sheldon Clark has played in the All A before and it's had no impact as far as them having a bigger enrollment. This year could be their year though.
12-31-2014, 05:58 PM
I'm not whining because Sheldon Clark is good. I just don't think any school that has 3A enrollment should be playing in the All A if its really the small school tournament it's made out to be.

Sheldon Clark is right on line between 2a and 3a. They normally play in the all A in all sports there was a couple years they didn't.

Paintsville will win the all A. Tigers get revenge in a big way over the Cards in the all A.

There are several A schools that are very good. I would like to see them set A number
and enforce the rules.
and enforce the rules.

Williamsburg was caugh in the same situation in class A football, they were in the finals for two years they played A school Mayfield that had enrollment numbers that were AA they will be AA next year, I don't mean to grip but actualy we lost to AA school two years in A row. And we were one of the smallest school that play football in the state.

Next year Mayfield will be AA

There is a set number by enrollment. Schools enrollment change every year with incoming freshman and outgoing seniors so schools right around that number can go up or down a class. The number is different for different sports to determine class. The whole system should be reconsidered though, especially for football.

I've not seen them play this year.Pikeville did beat Betsy Layne earlier this year. The teams have went different directions since then. Pikeville lost 2 of 3 games in the PIT. They struggled to defeat Phelps. Pikeville actually plays Belfry tonight and if they're not on their game, it will be another loss. Also, during the Betsy Layne game, the Bobcats missed a ton of layups and shots right at the basket. Something going on over at Pikeville, sure didn't think they would struggle like this.
