`twas the night of the contest and all through the gym
All fans are excited, both the thick and the slim
The white nets were hung, on the orange rim with care
In hopes that the home teams, shots would be there
The captains and coaches, convened at half court
To be instructed by refs, be a good sport
Its back to the locker room, as the Anthem plays
Then its back to the floor, only one more delay
When from the speakers the starters are announced
Its finally time for the opponents to be trounced
The players all hustled and the cheerleaders cheer
Coaches yelling at refs, You gotta be kidding they jeer
The fans get anxious, as the score remains tight
This games a barn burner, no blowout tonight
When what did my wondering eyes did appear
The clock running out, and the end is now near
The visitors down one, with a shot on the way
The final horn sounded, no more time left to play
The shot found its mark, through the rim went the ball
But points do not count, traveling was the call
YOU CHEATER!! YOU LIAR !! YOUR CROOKED and BLIND!
The visiting fans cried "I want to kick the refs behind!!!!
The home fans were happy, they were glad and excited
The visitors felt jilted, cheated and slighted
All fans left the game, to their home they sped
To get on their computer and start a new thread
On Bluegrass Rivals we read about the game
But the accounts are different, the stories not the same
The debate continued on with icon and letter
Both fan bases convinced their team is better
Then the thread turns toxic with naughty words and a threat
Words posted by some, that one day they'll regret
The fans were warned by Granny Bear and then Gut
But they continued to fight, like Lilly and Wiznut
The mods close the thread, much to our dismay
But we gotta follow rules that guide what we can say
Even though some oppose and seldom do they agree
One thing they have in common, it is great to be free
So to all American Soldiers, that served for this right
Your much appreciated every day and each night
I would get you all a present, but the bill I couldn't pay
So I will do one better, for everyone I will pray
I pray for your safety, your peace, and your health
I pray for you Grace, for you mercy and wealth
I pray for your teams, they compete and they fight
To all BGR posters Merry Christmas and good night.

I stole the line and what did my wondering eyes did appear, right out of the other poem, but everything else was from me.
